An Unforgettable Day with Jahaziel – Puerto Plata’s Best Guide!
Our family had an incredible excursion touring the Puerto Plata countryside, and it was all thanks to our driver and guide, Jahaziel Mercado. From the moment we found him waiting at the taxi stand near Gate 5, he made us feel less like tourists and more like close friends or family visiting for the day.
Jahaziel took us through the countryside, sharing coffee with us and giving us a genuine window into the local community’s way of life. His warmth, knowledge, and passion for his home were obvious in every stop we made — we honestly could have spent all day out there with him.

Perfect day!
Great experience with the family. Everything was perfect and we got to see all of the amazing places in Puerto Plata. The beach is beautiful. Jose was amazing and professional. I highly recommend the tour for anyone looking for a safe, educational and professional tour experience.

Perfect Day Exploring
Carlos was energetic, knowledgeable, and friendly! He was also prepared and anticipated our needs. Cold water was automatically given to us throughout the trip. He took photos of us and gave us time to enjoy each stop. The vehicle was comfortable and accommodated 6 people perfectly. We traveled with three adults and three teens.

Uncle Nestor is the best!!
This was a great experience and it was expected to rain so we were encouraged to move our tour up earlier and I am so glad that we did. It was really a personal experience Nestor our tour guide and David our driver treated us like family. It ws a very knowledgable tour and with interesting historic information throughout the enhtire tour, plenty of time for photos and souvenir shopping. The rum tasting was fun and they were not stingy with the samples lol. I would definetly come back and do a tour with Uncle Nestor again. The best tour operator ever if you want to do a tour a real tour and not just someone taking you around t places where they are pushing you to buy something, book this tour you will not regret it!

Carlos was an amazing tour guide, very nice and knowledgeable. We got caught in an unexpectedly heavy rainstorm and he did his best to still keep the tour going and make it fun and interesting.
Would absolutely recommend this tour and if I get back to Puerto Plata I will book with Carlos again to hopefully get a drier version.

Look No Further! This Guided Tour is the Best!
Our tour guide Fermin was awesome. His knowledge was extensive about Puerta Plata and made our experience really enjoyable and worthwhile. He took us to several known tourists spots, but also shared other sights that most tourists don’t get to see. He made it known we could stop anywhere we wanted and that he was there for us.
Don’t pass on this tour, it was one of the best we have had on Viator and in traveling. He was punctual, the car was clean, he was friendly and we learned a lot about the area.

Great Family Fun!
We had a fantastic day in Puerto Plata. Damajagua Falls were so fun and very thrilling. Definitely worth the hike. Having a private ride to and from the falls with a stop in town to visit a cigar shop and see umbrella street was a perfect end to our tour. Edgar was a great tour guide!

We had Ismael as our private driver and tour guide on a visit that corresponded with a holiday. It was clearly worthwhile to have a local expert take us around to sites and a delicious restaurant that were open. I would have been scrambling if I had tried to come up with a day’s worth of itinerary!

This boat day was SO much...
This boat day was SO much fun. There are a lot of people on the boat, so expect a very social, lively environment. You’ll likely be sharing tables and space with others, and there aren’t really quiet or private areas. That said, if you’re open to it, it really adds to the experience.
The crew completely made the trip. They were hilarious, engaging, and did an amazing job getting everyone involved—dancing, laughing, and just having a great time. Huge shoutout to Benjamin and Mawii (the photographer), who were especially fun and added a lot to the vibe.
The day starts with two snorkeling stops. You can fully snorkel with equipment, just swim, or even stay on the boat if that’s more your speed. My friends and I chose to just get in the water and swim, which was perfect. Life jackets are provided and required in the water, but not while you’re on the boat.
After snorkeling, the open bar kicks in and you cruise while eating and drinking. The food was buffet-style, with plenty of options and generous portions—you can go back for as much as you want.
A couple practical tips:
• There are bathrooms on board
• Definitely bring sunscreen and a towel
• Take motion sickness medication beforehand—this is a big one
Even if you’re comfortable on boats, the waves can be intense. I grew up on the water on a boat every weekend in Florida and still took Bonine beforehand, and I’m really glad I did. I felt completely fine, but probably a third of the boat got seasick. The crew does their best to help (cold washcloths, crackers, water, buckets, etc.), but it’s much better to prevent it. Bonine is great because it doesn’t have noticeable side effects, so it’s 100% worth taking as a just in case.
Overall, I would definitely recommend this experience. It’s high-energy, social, and just a really fun way to spend a day on the water.

An adventure of a lifetime
When we signed up to see the monkeys we were both more enthused about the zip lining but after all was said and done, we both thought the monkey experience was very special. We’d seen monkeys in the wild in other countries and mostly found them to be smelly and unfriendly. However, these monkeys were small and adorable and so gentle. We were given ample time to spend getting photos taken with them and it was extremely memorable. As for the zip lining the experience was also good and it felt safe. The local meal was absolutely delicious. When we come back we would definitely come see the monkeys again!

Great way to spend a day on Puerto Plata DR
What a great day. The communication from Austin was great. Then add in Carlos (our driver) was clear, easy. Our tour was very knowledgeable. We were able to roll our own cigar. Learned a lot! Hanging out afterwards with a cigar and a cocktail just made it all a great day. We took our driver Carlos out for coffee afterwards. Just do it! Get to know the locals as well. THANKS for a very memorable day!!!!

Great Tour, Great guide
Pretty impressive tour. Was only my wife and I with Melanie our driver/tour guide. She was knowledgeable, friendly, and several times asked what else we would like to see. It seemed like she knew everyone in town as we walked around town center. Great tour and great guide! It was only the 3 of us so a very personal tour
