What are people saying about Puerto Plata

Great service/experience but vendors nog so much!!
Joseph was amazing! Very accommodating and friendly loved his country and gave us great pointers for next time. We did not like how pushy the vendors were in the countryside except Julian!! Man he was amazing! But others did not give us room to look. Also beware of those asking you if you want pictures as they were trying to push for us to pay them more. It was very uncomfortable.

Great tour, I highly recommend the private tour.
Chepe our tour guy was amazing. We really enjoyed our tour around the island. I must say my favorite part is the café on top of the mountain with a view He took us to. The only thing I wish, it would’ve been the last part. I could’ve had stayed and enjoyed it the rest of the time.

Glimpse into the life in Puerta Plata
Such a great way to get a glimpse into the beautiful Puerto Plata. Edgar and Francisco were fantastic. They treated us with respect, patience and kindness. I loved seeing the hot spots! Loved the Umbrella Street and pink street. It was perfect length to get back to the resort to hit the beach. We loved our extra special treatment and a personal photographer! So fun! Also….. Edgar arranged for a transport to another City. Great communication! Thanks So Much! ☀️🌴

This boat day was SO much...
This boat day was SO much fun. There are a lot of people on the boat, so expect a very social, lively environment. You’ll likely be sharing tables and space with others, and there aren’t really quiet or private areas. That said, if you’re open to it, it really adds to the experience. The crew completely made the trip. They were hilarious, engaging, and did an amazing job getting everyone involved—dancing, laughing, and just having a great time. Huge shoutout to Benjamin and Mawii (the photographer), who were especially fun and added a lot to the vibe. The day starts with two snorkeling stops. You can fully snorkel with equipment, just swim, or even stay on the boat if that’s more your speed. My friends and I chose to just get in the water and swim, which was perfect. Life jackets are provided and required in the water, but not while you’re on the boat. After snorkeling, the open bar kicks in and you cruise while eating and drinking. The food was buffet-style, with plenty of options and generous portions—you can go back for as much as you want. A couple practical tips: • There are bathrooms on board • Definitely bring sunscreen and a towel • Take motion sickness medication beforehand—this is a big one Even if you’re comfortable on boats, the waves can be intense. I grew up on the water on a boat every weekend in Florida and still took Bonine beforehand, and I’m really glad I did. I felt completely fine, but probably a third of the boat got seasick. The crew does their best to help (cold washcloths, crackers, water, buckets, etc.), but it’s much better to prevent it. Bonine is great because it doesn’t have noticeable side effects, so it’s 100% worth taking as a just in case. Overall, I would definitely recommend this experience. It’s high-energy, social, and just a really fun way to spend a day on the water.
