Our pickup for Cruise Travelers is adjusted to the cruise Schedule, outside cruise ports Both AMber Cove and Taino bay, outside after the exit gates. Pick up can be 30 or 45 minutes after the Ship has docked at the Port. After booking, the customer will receive a separate email or call from the supplier with detailed informations about the meeting point. We can pick up from any airport or airbnb within Puerto Plata City. If you do not see your hotel or Airbnb, please add Info on your Note section upon booking. Pickups in Sosua and Cabarete, an extra fee may be charged. If you are staying at a villa, Airbnb, or private rental, please make sure to provide the exact address and building name in your booking notes. Pickup from hotels and resorts will be arranged at the main lobby unless otherwise specified. Cruise passengers will meet us outside the designated port exit gate, where our team will be waiting with a sign displaying "Edgar Private Tours" (no inside port pickup)

My husband and I absolutely loved this private tour! Gerson was the perfect guide for showing us around Puerto Plata. I loved that we were able to swap some activities on our itinerary and he even took us to a wonderful local spot for lunch and coffee. He was friendly and personable guide and shared lots of information and history about Puerto Plata. We got to see all the major highlights including the chocolate factory, umbrella street, pink alley, the downtown/parks area, and the fort. We had a perfect day! I would definitely book them again.

The tour was amazing and our guide Melvin was very nice, knowledgeable, professional and showed us all the essentials to see in this quaint historic district. We had lunch at Sambalu which was perfectly located across the cathedral.

Good for mobility limited person. Mostly a driving tour, at our request. Our guide was informative and very attentive. Likewise, our van driver was too. A nice view from the heights. You might need motion sickness meds for all the switchback turns up and down the mountain.

Our tour guide and driver were awesome! They were very helpful with my Mom who has a scooter. They gave us plenty of time to see each site, had drinks for us and gave us a lot of information about the island. I would highly recommend this tour and would definitely do it again.

We booked a Private City Tour and our guide was Gerson Torres. We liked that he tailored the tour to our interests. We especially liked that he took us to a local spot for lunch. The fried chicken and rice and beans were delicious. We came from a cruise ship and felt that we got a much better tour with him and Viatar.

Late getting this done, but our new years eve tour was excellent. Gerson communicated and adapted well to the fact that our scheduled docking was delayed from 7:00AM until 11:00AM and when we got to the meeting place, we were privileged to have our private tour with Jose Reyes, who was extremely knowledgeable about Puerto Plata, never rushed us, and took my wife's mobility issues very seriously, including her need for our wheelchair for more than very short walks. It was a relaxing and enjoyable experience, with Jose letting us choose from the selected stops and translating for us as needed. If we visit Puerto Plata again, we would unquestionably want to do another tour with Edgarprivatetours via Viator.

Garson Torres was our driver and guide. Met us at the meeting point right on time. Made sure we were comfortable on the tour. Spoke clearly so us seniors could hear him. Very knowledgeable and a great sense of humor. Made sure we were ok during the parts where we had to walk to the sites. Introduced us to the staff and helped with shopping needs. Great our and a great way to tour.

You are treated to experiences representing the major historical events and their continuing impact on the local economy. Our guide took us to major points of interest, provided pertinent information and we were given the option of choosing not to stop at others. At our request, Edgar took us to a restaurant which was very clean. We enjoyed a nice lunch before we progressed further.

Distance from pier to pick up location was unclear and farther than expected. Making the walk challenging to two people with canes . That being said the guide and driver were very knowledgeable and accommodating to our interests.

Great safe, easy way to spend a day in port if you aren't into the adventure things. Francisco and Javier were very nice and accomodating. We were intersted in learning more about the DR history and he took us to a private museum that was enjoyable, the lunch spot was very good. Not their fault, but of course everything in DR is abut trying to sell the tourists something. The chocolate tour is really just a private company trying to sell chocolate and coffee, same with cigar and and amber although the Rum was more a valid "factory" tour. I would recommend doing some research and finding some valid places you want to go to and then asking your guides to take you there, treat it as more of a private car and translator. Regardless of the obvious kickbacks and tourist trap, we enjoyed it.

Edgar Tours did a good job at communicating the pickup spot with us ahead of time. We had plenty of time to see all of the sights on the tour. Our tour guide, Nestor, was very friendly and accommodating. He provided an itinerary that covered all of the places we wished to see but did not rush us at any of the stops. We enjoyed that he shared a lot of the history of the island with us during our tour. The only problem we had was that at times Nestor's accent was difficult to understand.

Our guide. Francisco and driver made our experience just what we wanted for our first visit to Puerto Plata and the DR. After the long walk (15 minutes) to the taxi stand through the most beautiful port of Puerto Plata we met our guide and driver. The large van/bus was very big just for the two of us on the private tour and very clean. After a tour of the rum distillery he took us downtown to visit an Amber store where we learned about how they are mined and then a walk through the downtown. Francisco was fantastic. He knows so much about his beloved country and spoke English well and we always understood. He answered my many important but unrelated questions to the tour but meant a lot to me. It was informative and fun. Take this tour. You won't be disappointed.
