Authentic vegetarian Oaxacan cuisine.
Local and authentic vegetarian cuisine. Local products and knowledge.
Victor and Wendy were the perfect hosts, the pace was great and humour never failed. I learnt so much and the end result was impressive. Delicious foods with amazing salsas. Thanks Victor for sharing your knowledge and insight!

A Half day well spent
As it’s so close to the city a half day is perfect to visit Monte Alban.
Gabriel our guide from OaxacaTours was excellent in delivering to us the requisite information in English and encouraging us to ask questions.
It’s only 25-30 minutes by minibus to the car park from the centre of Oaxaca. The 8:30am departure got us back to the city at about 12:15pm leaving plenty of time to do something else.

An enjoyable learning and dining experience.
Our chef, Oswaldo Ramirez offered a wonderful, rich experience for us. He is an excellent teacher who is proud of the Oaxaca cuisine he has mastered. The class was enjoyable with a convivial group of six around the table. I highly recommend Taller de Cocina Quiote Recetario.

Suberb sampling of authentic Oaxacan food
We took this tour on the advise of friends who had just been to Oaxaca. It exceeded our expectations. We began by sampling Atole, then visited two street vendors. We then went to a market where we enjoyed more food, sampled Mezcal, and tasted around 20 different fruits. We then had some wonderful ice cream. We ended up at the main market where we enjoyed more authentic Oaxacan food (including the option of Mezcal worms and grasshoppers) along with some more samples of Mezcal. Our tour guide, Aurora, was phenomenal. She introduced us to all the people who provided us food and described what we were eating at each place. We were so full when we finished the tour that afternoon we skipped dinner. I highly recommend this food tour.

A cooking class for all ages and abilities!
We booked a cooking class for 2 adults and our 3.5 year old daughter. We were the only people with a child there so initially we were worried she wouldn’t be able to participate but they made her feel so special and welcome. She was able to make her own tortillas, empanadas, and dessert. It’s a really beautiful outdoor setting and you get to socialise with other like minded travellers learning to cook a Oaxacan meal. It is a long day so if you’ve got little ones, bring extra snacks to hold them over as we were there from 9-3. We thoroughly enjoyed our day and would recommend this to anyone!

Best travel experience ever
It was the best experience of the whole trip to Mexico, Doña Minerva is incredible. She is an amazing chef, strong woman and she uses food to employ women and help them by building an amazing community and sharing her huge knowledge with foreigners like us. It’s the best experience to both learn new dishes, learn about local culture and also support a female owned business and community. I will remember this day forever.

Become a Mole Master
This tour is the full deal - wonderful tour through the market with samples of local fruits, veggies and chocolate. Then, our amazing chef Victor and helper Wendy, put us to work and make every element of the meal. We appreciated the guidance and liberty to learn how to make this authentic Oaxacan meal, straight from his grandmother’s repertoire. Highly recommend.

Trust your guide and try everything- you won’t be disappointed and it will set you up for future market feasts
Coyote was an amazing guide who took into consideration our one dairy intolerant family member and ensured we got to see and taste the best parts of both big markets. There was the most delicious and nutritious drinks, fruit and bbq meats that we may never have considered eating. Thank you Coyote for your guidance and great communication.

Lovely, informative tour...
Lovely, informative tour that makes a great day trip from Oaxaca. We left promptly at 8:30 and returned to Oaxaca City a bit after 5 pm. We particularly loved Monte Alban and the pottery demonstration. Lunch was ~300 pesos apiece (buffet + one beer) + Monte Alban/monastery entrances (175 pesos apiece) + tip.

Awesome Tour
Great way to explore the city. A beautiful city to explore. They were kind enough to pick me up from my hotel even though my hotel was not listed on their pick-up route. And the lunch stop was awesome. Personally, it was the most delicious Mexican food I've ever eaten.

Great tour.
This experience was amazing to he whole tour was great we got to experience so many things throughout the day. I will say I didn’t enjoy the buffet they have but there are other food stalls at stops before that are great. Although I didn’t like it my parents did enjoy it so I think it’s just my personal preference.
