Manakamana Temple Tours and Tickets
Manakamana Temple

- The temple is at around 4260 feet (1300 meters), about double the altitude of Kurintar, so it is quite a lot cooler up there; take a sweater.
- Don’t be surprised to see goats being loaded into the cable cars–there’s a special ticket price for them! These are sacrificial animals.
- Visitors to Hindu temples in Nepal must usually take off their shoes to enter the inner areas, as a sign of respect and humility. The floors at the Manakamana Temple can be quite dirty. If you don’t like the idea of taking your shoes off to go inside, stick to the outer areas.
- Non-Hindus are generally welcome at Hindu temples in Nepal (with a few exceptions), but be aware that this is a highly religious place.
- Non-Nepalis must pay a much larger fee to use the cable car than Nepalis.
