Darren was awesome!!!! Perfect mix of history and humor. I especially enjoyed hearing about the modern day social climate of Montreal. We did regular bikes and it was a super easy ride. Also I never take the time to write reviews but Darren and the entire crew at Fitz Montreal Bike tours deserve it! We didn’t want to say goodbye.

Great Way to See More of Montreal in a Day

From the pick up at our hotel to the drop off back at our hotel, the full-day tour was great. The driver/guide was clear and informative. He used a mic when the van was full so everyone could hear him. He made sure that I was able to safely exit and enter the van at each stop. The van was comfortable and it had a higher roof so taller people did not have to hunch over. It was so nice to be in a small group. We not only saw major sights, we also saw multiple neighborhoods/cities on Montreal island. I got a real feel for greater Montreal. We heard about the history from the earliest settlement by missionaries through the changes in the last century. Several stops were photo stops but I felt that we had ample time everywhere that we went. I really enjoyed the bagel that we got at a famous local bagel shop and all the yummy maple syrup samples at the farmers market. I would recommend this tour to anyone wanting to see a lot of Montreal in comfort with a knowledgeable guide.

Great time on the food tour

Our guide Eric was very knowledgeable of the area and knew the best local places to eat. We had spanakopita, bagels and cream cheese, Korean ice cream, meat sandwiches, poutine, and gnocchi with spicy sauce. Everything was delicious and authentic. I would recommend this tour and guide to anyone.

Quebec city is beautiful!

We really loved our trilingual tour guide Joyce. She was really funny and kind and she kept her communication line open so if we were ever confused she would answer us right away. I loved our iterinary because we saw Montmorency falls and then we also had lots of time to sight see and take a river cruise on the st. Laurence (additional $$$) that really made the experience memorable. I just wish the weather was better for pictures. But overall great and the timing was perfect! Spent the whole long weekend in Quebec city (no need for a full stay in Quebec city in an expensive hotel), I felt like I saw majority of the city with the tour. There's so much culture and history preserved there it's like you are transported back in time! Our bus driver Simon was also great. He drove well and was always on time.

Delicious Foods of Montreal

Depending on the weather, be sure to bring an extra jacket in case because it was quite chilly in Montreal when I did the walking tour with the guide and the other participants. Darren was very funny and witty with making his audience laugh from joking and teasing as well as very well knowledgeable in the history of Montreal for the inhabitants and the buildings. The food was quite delicious, the only issue I had was that I was still hungry afterwards despite trying multiple food items listed in the description. Perhaps the portions for the food weren't large enough, but overall quite delicious and worth the money for the food tour itself. Great way to meet new people and learn more about the city of Montreal itself.

Wonderful day.

It was wonderful. Our tour guide William was great and spoke to ALL of the people on the bus in their respective language including English, French and Spanish. We did the cruise which I’m not sure we would do again as it cut into our city touring - but we enjoyed that too. If you’re not a walker this trip might not be for you. We saw a lot of older folks struggling a bit. Lots of cobblestones and hills. But it was BEAUTIFUL. It was a long day but so worth it.

Yes you will get soaked....

Yes you will get soaked. But my family including my 9yr old daughter just loved it. They have lockers and will give you sweatshirts to wear as it will get cold coming back. Very hospitable people, our guide Nico was funny and full of jokes. Packing warmer clothes to change into for after your adventure helps. Definitely recommend :)
