Great experience! We learned some Ville Marie (Montréal) history, were spooked « just enough » and really felt like we were transported to the 1700’s!!! And our host was super knowledgeable as well as funny and entertaining :) Our 200 yr old spectre, Edith, really made this activity interesting, and we were enthralled as well as thoroughly entertained… she captured our hearts and minds!

Traditional Ghost Walk

Follow your guide, an expert storyteller and a professional actor, through Old Montreal to discover haunted places where Montreal’s dark, gruesome history unfolds.

The itinerary of this themed tour will take you in different streets and alleys of Old Montréal, from Places Royale to Bonsecours Market. As you explore the city streets in search of notorious criminals and villains, you’ll hear fascinating stories about crimes, hangings, fires, witchcraft and mysterious phenomena that stump even ghost experts. Fascinating tales await you!

Along the way, you will discover unexplained phenomena and outdoor locations where disturbing and significant events have taken place. You will hear unsettling stories and legends that unveil the sinister past of Old Montréal. At the end of it all, you will be left wondering if ghosts really do haunt Old Montréal...

Disappointing

Not what we expected. We were hoping for a historic ghost walking tour of old Montréal as advertised. Unfortunately too much time was spent on the theatrics and getting the group to participate in acting/skits while stopped at locations that the ghost stories were lost. We did complete the tour, but lost half of our group by the end due to disappointment with the tour. Kids on this tour also did not make this experience enjoyable. We would not recommend this tour and are quite disappointed that one of our only evenings in Montréal was spent on this experience.

It was a beautiful evening of smiles and laughter. No paranormal experiences occurred on this particular evening but you never know what you may encounter! We really enjoyed this fun evening walking tour exploring Old Montreal. It was a fun and spooky way to learn some interesting history and spooky tails of Old Montreal. Our ghost tour representative, Madame Morphine, did an outstanding job of making the spooky tails come to life by her dynamic storytelling. Her charisma and getting into character made it really exciting for us. It was also well thought out that throughout the walking tour, Madame Morphine would invite you to take a seat at various ledges and steps while she gave us a history lesson and told many ghastly stories. My husband and I had a blast. We highly recommend this tour. Consider yourself very fortunate if you have Madame Morphine as your guide. Very well done!!

Excellent! Alice was knowledgeable and enthusiastic, even though she’s done the tour many times. I liked the historical references of what life was like centuries ago and especially appreciated hearing about recent events and what unsuspected tourists experienced without knowing their current rentals had a ghostly history.

This tour combined history with fun storytelling. It gave a great sense of what life was like in the 17 and 1800s. It was raining pretty heavily but we soldiered on, as did our amazing guide, Frank. He was a talented storyteller and very engaging. We had a private tour since no one else wanted to brave the weather. I would highly recommend it!

Alice was an incredible guide—warm, engaging, and so much fun to be around. The walking tour itself was exciting and such a unique way to experience the town at night. The stories and lore she shared really brought the history and atmosphere to life. As a bonus, Alice has a “hauntingly” lovely singing voice that added a little extra magic to the evening.
