This was a fun way to grab a few drinks but also hear some "fun" stories about our city. I say "fun" because ghost stories, history and true crime are a good time for me lol Our guide was great. He knew a ton of interesting history, was personable and fun to chat with.

I despise leaving bad reviews. It goes against my very nature but I need you to know what you’re getting into!!
I don’t know in which order to express my disappointment with this tour. I have done haunted pub crawls in Savannah (several actually), Galveston, and Cape Cod, and generally we have a good time… we walk, get a drink, we hear a story, we move on, but in this one we felt trapped in a history class.
Oh dear, my friend, read the room. Everyone’s eyes are glazed over, people are yawning and checking their phones. It’s a pub CRAWL not a pub lecture. We are 59 minutes into our crawl and we haven’t moved yet.
The locals, who were sitting at our table and who said this was the last of all the pub crawls on their list, LEFT!
It went on and on. Every time you thought, “oh ok, he’s gonna wrap this up and we can move on” WHOMP another story, that didn’t happen here, at this pub, or even near this pub, somewhere else in Montreal not anywhere near this pub and we’re not gonna walk by it, or a cemetery where their buried either.
When we got to the second pub, we all had to sit in a room and they were going to bring servers, by which indicated this was also going to be a rather long stop. At this point, we couldn’t take anymore and we left.
If you just want to hear all the gory stories of how people died in the past (which we all know if you’ve ever read a history book- drawn and quartered, tortured, burned on pyres) and how those people may or may not be ghosts/orbs, (which we will definitely not be walking past) this might be for you, but if you’re looking for a couple of fun ghost stories and some pub crawling, this is not for you and this was not for us.

I was disappointed with this review. Having researched haunted pub crawls in many locations, including Savannah, our crawl is inspired by other similar events but adjusted for Montreal. In Savannah, about 50% of the time is spent walking through the streets, where you can carry alcohol from pub to pub.
In Montreal, that is illegal so we need to tell the ghost stories within the drinking establishments, Furthermore, I was shocked that you did not read our website, which clearly states that we visit three pubs over two hours. For you to get upset that servers were coming to take drink orders in the second pub and that you "couldn't take it anymore" suggests that you do not understand how bars actually work, Drinks do not magically appear like at a keg party.
Furthermore, our photographer was on this crawl and explained: " I can attest to the fact that no one's "eyes were glazing over" and the only person on their phone was me, because I was posting pictures of the tour on social media lol. We were at each location exactly the expected amount of time, Jason was ON - like, definitely one of his best performances ever in my opinion, and the people who actually gave the tour time to move along and develop had a TON of fun and were pretty angry at the attitude of this woman. She was fairly public about her opinion, took my friend aside, even knowing that he was my friend, and told him that she is "not easily entertained" and then said she felt held hostage to which he was understandably confused about, as we were actively heading to the next location..."
Lastly, a haunted pub crawl does not visit cemeteries or other haunted locations apart from the pubs themselves. We offer walking tours and paranormal investigations for those types of locations.

Our story teller was wonderful. We went to 4p on Sunday, 06/16. We had a great time. The group we were with were a lot of fun.

Our tour guide Max is an excellent story teller. The pub atmosphere really made the stories feel real. We enjoyed drinks at each pub and would definitely recommend this experience.

I am sorry to hear that you felt our haunted pub crawl was "more of a history lesson than a haunted tour". As the creator of the tour, I am surprised. Our tours all contain both plentiful ghost stories and the deranged history that led to the hauntings. Furthermore, we hire professional actors to deliver the stories. I'm sorry you felt that a one person performance is "long winded" and hope you found another way to enjoy your afternoon.

Jason's enthusiastic renditions of the various ghost stories from around Montreal was fun. We went to 3 different bars and learned about the history of each of them. About the only thing I think that could improve things would be a pub snacks option, letting people snack on some pre-prepared bar snacks that people might consider opting in/out of.

We bought tickets online and the name of the pub was listed. I was texted a link with the barcode for the tickets and an option for a pdf. I thought they were printable tickets. We Google the address for McKibben pub and drove there. We were a bit early so we waited in the car and arrived outside the pub 5 minutes before it was to start. We went in to ask if anyone was already there and the waiter had no idea what we were talking about. We went back outside and tried to call the number and got voice-mail. I replied to the text asking for help with no response. Apparently the pdf was additional instructions to call and confirm and there is a second bar with the same name across town. We tried to get over there to catch them and then couldn't find a place to park drove around for 15 minutes trying and finally gave up. Montreal is a terrible place to drive in. Parking is a nightmare and we never got to enjoy the pub crawl. They should warn people of the parking difficulty and that there are 2 bars with the same name so people get to the correct starting location so they can take part in the pub crawl

I am sorry to hear about your experience. The address of the starting bar is on the ticket and yet for whatever reason you chose to Google the name of the bar instead - McKibbin's Irish Pub. This pub has been so successful that it has spawned many locations. You went to the wrong one because you did not read the address on your ticket and chose to Google instead. Furthermore, had you contacted us we would have refunded your tickets even though this was your mistake and not ours. For you to trash our company with a 1-star review due to your own error is really unfair. Negative reviews like this harm our marketing and sales, which results in less tours for our actors, which are based on union wages. As such, I am asking you to remove this "review" for something you never experienced due to your own fault. Lastly, we encourage our clients to use public transit, Uber, etc. unless there is a designated driver. Parking in Downtown Montreal is scare and expensive due to the Mayor's efforts to "green" the city.

I am sorry to hear that you did not find Montreal's ghost stories interesting. As Canada's most haunted city with with over 500 ghost stories, many people visit here to experience them - or they read them on our blog where they are free. Furthermore, our award-winning haunted pub crawl does not only cover hauntings in the pubs, but in the city as well. Next time you should read the blog of a ghost tour company to see if the stories are to your taste before booking.

Our tour guide seemed nice but we weren't really engaged with any of the stories. It seemed like we were taking too long at each pub. It might have been nicer to have the bars be more ready for us. Or we could have at least walked around the city while the stories were being told.

Meh? Really? It sounds like you booked the wrong tour if you wanted to walk around the city instead of visiting the haunted pubs. We do offer three walking ghost tours - Haunted Mountain, Haunted Downtown and Haunted Griffintown. The Haunted Pub Crawl is for those who want to enjoy some drinks while listening to stories and the bars are as ready as they can possibly be. The fact is that it takes time at a pub to order and pay for drinks. Here's hoping you will try another tour that is more suitable to your tastes.

The guide (Jason) was reasonably knowledgeable about the “haunted” folklore stories however there was a lot of pausing during his story-telling…making the listening experience a bit disjointed. It didn’t help that the second stop of the pub crawl was actually CLOSED which meant Jason had to pivot on the spot. It definitely threw him off. Tip to tour operator: make certain the places that are to be visited are actually OPEN and know you are coming. It made this experience somewhat unprofessional.

Thank you for reviewing our Haunted Pub Crawl. Unfortunately. we are trying to operate in the era of Covid-19 and it is beyond our control if a bar gets shuttered due to the pandemic. Just last week, all bars were shut down again and now our pub crawl is suspended. This has happened in the past and we are trying to roll with the punches. If you consider this "unprofessional", I hope you try and look at the circumstances and maybe show some compassion for a tiny businesses that is trying to stay afloat in these very turbulent times.

Had a great time on our haunted pub crawl. Our guide, Jason, kept us entertained with stories of the ghosts in each pub and other spooky places in Montreal. We could only visit 2 of the 3 pubs because Winston Churchill had closed unexpectedly due a covid outbreak among the staff, but Jason adapted our tour without a hitch.

Had so much fun on this tour! I'm from Las Vegas and so I like some good haunted stories. Our tour guide was Donovan and he was amazing. He was so passionate about the haunted history of Montreal and was so animated and interactive that it made the tour that much more fun. I was traveling alone and so I'd be lying if I said I didn't go back to my air bnb spooked out of my wits lol.

Thank you for your kind words and great review! The Haunted Pub Crawl is not recommended for people with serious mobility issues because the haunted pubs are very old, have stairs and were not designed for wheelchairs. That being said, our Haunted Downtown, Haunted Griffintown and Paranormal Investigation are all fully accessible. We are planning a new pub crawl soon in another part of the city and will try and find haunted bars that are accessible.

We had previously done a Haunted Walk with another company and it was fabulous but this one... very disappointing. First off - it specifically says limited to 6 a group for a personal experience. There was at least 15 in our group. It also clearly states to arrive 10 minutes early because the walk would start promptly at 3 pm. We arrived at 2:50 to be told we would be waiting for another 3 to join us. Turned out our wait was a good 20 minutes and like I said the group was at least 15 not 6 like the description described. The the first 15 minutes was listening to the Guide talk up his business and all the other walks, etc that were available. The Guide basically lectured us on the history of Montreal and with every story he did tell - he ruined it. He was previously a history teacher and it clearly showed. There was little to no interaction with the group - just him lecturing. We did go to three pubs. The majority of the time at the pubs was spent waiting to order our drinks with very limited staff dedicated to our large group of 15 plus. I was disappointed to find there was very little organization between the company and the pubs, not even a themed drink for the pubs. Overall, our experience was lame. I wouldn't recommend this tour or company at all.

I was very disappointed in this review. Firstly, it appears that Tripadvisor Experiences made an error by saying there were 6 participants maximum. It is actually impossible to pay actors union based wages with this low number of clients and I have asked our administrator to sort that our. Secondly, we research real ghost stories in Montreal and are very proud to offer four different experiences, three walks and the pub crawl, not to mention our free blog on the 13th of the month. It takes 1 minute to announce this, not 15 minutes, as you suggest. That is the mission of our company - to share Montreal's macabre past and ghost stories with our clients, as advertised on our website. I was quite surprised you did not want to hear about what the company actually does, including our free services. It is true tour started about 10 minutes past three, which is always done to allow clients to buy drinks. Unfortunately, not everyone always arrives 10 minutes early, as we suggest. I would also disagree with you assessment that "the majority" of time was spent buying drinks and that there was little interaction. Indeed, those who took ghosts seriously stayed at the last pub, Hurley's, for over an hour discussing their own paranormal experiences. Overall, I found this review disappointing because it sounds like instead of engaging with the ghost stories and the people you felt bitter that ghost stories "ruined" the history of Montreal in your mind. This was the most surprising thing, in my mind. Why would you book a ghost tour if you wanted "history" that paints the city in a glossy and uncritical light, especially when Montreal is the most haunted city in Canada? Next time, I recommend booking one of those double-decker bus tours, where you will get a very minimal amount of history that glosses over the city's true dark history and its over 300 ghosts.

We visited three pubs and enjoyed each story about the ghost that resides there. Great area of the downtown including Leonard Cohen Mural. Our guide Antoine did a great job animating the stories.

i could not say enough good things about the tour. The guide offers a rich historical background of Montreal and is very engaging. You can tell he loves what he does. We went to 3 different pubs and just sat and drank while he told stories of hauntings and ghosts that are rumored to haunt these pubs. it was hands down the highlight of my trip. The tour was well organized, and considerate of bathroom brakes given the beer intake. You will not regret this!
