This was an awesome tour full of history and information of life in Montreal. The Fitz team was awesome, had bikes, helmets and maps ready for us. They gave a great safety briefing too and overall used all the amazing bike infrastructure in the city to move us safely about. Great tour! Book it! I would do it again.

Marie was the most amazing guide! She took our group all around Montreal on this "Hidden Gems" tour. She is extremely knowledgeable and told us lots of interesting facts about Montreal on this tour! And we even got a bagel from one of the top bagel companies in Montreal! I highly recommend this tour to get a great feel of the city of Montreal!

Itinerary

Make your way to a meeting point near Parc Jeanne-Mance, where you’ll join a local guide and get fitted with a bicycle. Hop on your bike and pedal towards Mont Royal Park, the gateway to the gentle mountain in the city center, then continue to the McGill University Campus.

From there, you’ll ride the longest protected bike path in Montreal and explore the narrow streets of Old Montreal, where cobblestones and historic architecture give the neighborhood an atmospheric, European feel. Here and throughout the tour, the guide will stop to share a bit of history and fun Montreal facts, with time to ask questions about the things you see along the way.

Continue to the edge of the St. Lawrence River and the Old Port, a favorite destination for local walkers and cyclists, then loop back to the starting point in the Plateau/Mont Royal neighborhood. Your tour concludes at the starting point with a light refreshment.

Highly recommended! We absolutely loved our bike tour. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted by the receptionist and then met our guide, Martin, and our fellow riders. The adventure began weaving through charming back-alley gardens and older neighborhoods where we discovered hidden, beautiful gardens — a wonderful tradition still kept alive. The tour continued through scenic parks and notable Montreal landmarks, including McGill University’s beautiful downtown campus, nestled at the base of Mount Royal with its grand architecture and lively student atmosphere. We also rode past the Bell Centre, home of the legendary Montreal Canadiens, before heading toward the Olympic Stadium, parts of Old Montreal, and other cultural highlights. Along the way, Martin shared fascinating stories about the city’s history and character, making every stop meaningful. We finished in the city’s newest districts, exploring the chic multi-unit complexes lining the canal. Martin was exceptional — knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate — making the entire experience truly unforgettable. The touring bikes were also very comfortable, adding to the enjoyment. Thank you for such a memorable morning and afternoon!

We decided to take this tour since we enjoy cycling. We took regular bikes, but Montreal is a little hilly, and we moved pretty quickly, so if you don't feel up to that, I'd recommend an e-bike. Our guide Martin was entertaining and really friendly. He showed us everything from the surprisingly nice allies of the city, to the arena where the Canadiens play, to the waterfront. His love of, and excitement about, Montreal was contagious. He even followed up the tour with an e-mail full of recommendations about what to see and where to eat in the city. All in all a recommendable experience!

What a delightful way to experience Montreal’s beauty and charm and learn about the culture, history and neighbourhoods. Our guide JF was wonderful, very informative and personable and made every effort to ensure we were all comfortable, safe, understood the ins and outs of our electric bikes and bonus… he had a great sense of humour. Oh and we had a mixup on the start time and even though it was our miss they made every effort to accommodate us on a different date where they still had room. What an exceptional overall customer experience.

OK bike tour of Montreal

We booked this bike tour in order to see more than we would be able to see by walking. We paid extra for the e-bike option, which I was glad we did, because there are some hills in this tour and the people that didn't have e-bikes really struggled. I felt like 10 bike riders was too many for this tour. We went through a lot of downtown streets with heavy traffic and although the guide tried to get us through the lights together, many times part of the group was separated waiting for another light in order to not be hit by turning traffic. Most of the time we couldn't hear the guide as he carried on a conversation with the first 1-2 people in the group. And I was expecting to see more of the pretty old town area and Notre Dame, which we strangely skipped, and we found this beautiful area of shops later on that day, but not on the bike tour. Having done bike tours in many old towns in Europe, I was a little disappointed in this one for the reasons mentioned.

Very calm and casual bike tour of Montreal with an experienced and knowledgeable guide: Frederic. The bikes are in fantastic shape and no one in our group experienced any difficulties. Our riders included guests of all adult ages and all were comfortable with the tour and level of exercise. The locations we went to were fascinating and interesting, Frederic was well versed in the history and neighborhoods of the city. We would definitely do this tour again given the opportunity.

We had one day in Montreal so wanted to see as much as possible in a short time. The tour was great to see some nice sites. Fred was a fantastic guide. Great knowledge and easy to follow. He really worked hard to make the ride safe and that was appreciated. Definitely worth the time and cost!

We absolutely loved this bike tour! What a fun way to see Montreal and get a lay of the land. Our tour guide, JF, was wonderful and friendly, keeping us posted about our route along the way to keep us safe. We rented the e-bikes, which I highly recommend. Our family of four (parents and two teenagers) would do this again in a heartbeat. Montreal is such a bike-friendly city, making this a very enjoyable and easy way to get around.

It was a wonderful tour. We saw too many interesting places, passed by East and West parts of the City, beginning in Plateau. We made upgrade for our bikes, so we could use e-bikes, having faster and easier riding. Our guide Frédérique was very knowledgeable, polite and just a good guy. Thanks to him for this awesome tour. Especially thanks for his advice to visit Saint Joseph Oratory (we did it ourselves next day). Highly recommend this bike tour for everyone, who loves activities and exploring. The best way to get to know such a big city as Montreal.
