The Perfect Day Trip: Stunning views, rich history, and great stops and the perfect guide!
We booked the "Visit Guatape, El Peñol, El Retiro & Tekendamita Waterfall" excursion on May 23, 2026 and it was easily the highlight of our trip. We were picked up right on time in a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle. Our guide, Camilo, was amazing — on time, extremely knowledgeable, friendly, accommodating and patient. Did not rush us once like the other tour we booked with another company. From the famous rock in Guatape, the views, feeding the Llamas, horses and fish to the small town, food and drinks along with time for shopping this excursions had a little bit for everyone. Thank you so much for a great time and for being such a wonderful guide Camilo! I highly recommend booking with The Andes Adventure Travels and asking for Camilo. A++

100% Recommend
We absolutely adored this tour. My partner and I are pretty knowledgeable about coffee and I have been on multiple coffee tours; but we both learned something and appreciated the expertise. Coffee was phenomenal, lunch was delicious, and the family was so welcoming.

Yuly was an amazing tour...
Yuly was an amazing tour guide! She knew so much about the history and our main goal was to learn about the history that created such a vibrant culture! She made recommended stops for cultural snacks and for us to purchase goodies or watch the amazing street performers. She also is an INCREDIBLE driver and we felt 100% safe the entire time.

Unforgettable Experience in Guatapé with the Best Guide, Nelson Ortiz!
Our experience in Guatapé would not have been the same without our guide, Nelson Ortiz. He is, without a doubt, one of the best guides we’ve ever had. Extremely kind, professional, and knowledgeable, he made every moment both enjoyable and meaningful.
Nelson has an impressive command of multiple languages, which made communication seamless and added even more value to the experience. His deep knowledge of the area, combined with his thoughtful recommendations, allowed us to truly appreciate Guatapé beyond the typical tourist perspective.
What made the experience even more special were the incredible photos he took for us—beautiful memories that we will cherish forever. He has a great eye for capturing the perfect moments.
We feel truly grateful and fortunate to have had Nelson as our guide. Thank you, Nelson Ortiz, for your kindness, your expertise, and for making this trip unforgettable.

The Transformation of Medellin
This Pablo Escobar tour was amazing, I cannot recommend it enough. Juan was excellent and really brought a holistic understanding of the impact of the events of that time. It's so important to know the history and how Medillin is today the beautiful (peaceful) place it is now, contrasted against its difficult past. Jorge, our driver was solid and safe. 5 out 5.

Must do excursion while in Medellin!
I highly recommend this amazing excursion and requesting Daniel as your tour guide! He was extremely knowledgeable. I don't think there was one question he wasn't able to answer the entire day. The fruit was tasty, the history was intriguing and interesting, and we always felt safe. The cable car ride was a little scary but the views were insane. Make sure you ask to try one of the local drinks, coffee and lemonade. Seems weird but it was actually good and refreshing!

Joshua was a FANTASTIC guide!
I booked this tour with my partner and we could not have had a better experience.
Our tour guide was Joshua and he was a 12/10 tour guide. He picked us up right at the hostel we were staying at - he was informative, professional and very easy-going. He was great with letting us go at our own pace and we spent much of our tour time exploring the “Comuna 13” and the Downtown area. We never made it to the cable cars which was our own decision because we wanted to spend more time at the first two destinations and Joshua was very accommodating.
“Comuna 13” was a bustling favela type neighborhood that had plenty of cool things to check out: Bars/Restaurants, Street Food, Street Graffiti, Soccer Field and Joshua gave some insight to the history of the neighborhood as it was “the most dangerous” neighborhood back in the ‘80’s.
From there we went to the downtown area where we walked around and Joshua explained some of the more prominent buildings in the downtown area and we did some shopping with the local vendors. He also took us to the “Nacional Palacio” which was their version of a mall but it was a beautiful building with an art museum on the rooftop floor which i would highly recommend checking out. Joshua was also EXTREMELY helpful with helping us haggle on prices in the downtown area as me and my partner were not the best at speaking Spanish.
All in all - we had a great time and cannot thank Joshua enough for a great day exploring the city of Medellín!

First timer in Colombia with senior
I decided on the 4 hour Medellin city tour because my Father is elderly and we did not want to do anything too strenuous. This was such a perfect way to see and learn about Colombia, its history, and people. Oscar took his time to explain everything to us from the moment he picked us up at our AirBnb. He made us feel extremely comfortable and my Father was especially happy to hear he spoke excellent English. Highly recommend to get a taste (literally tasted local fruits!!) of the local scenes and history of Medellin. Tip - book on a Sunday morning to avoid crowds!

2nd time in Colombia, did not disappoint
This was our second time visiting Medellín. On our first trip, we did a private tour of Comuna 13, a cable car ride, and learned about Pablo Escobar. This tour was different and excellent because we explored another cable line and visited areas we hadn’t seen before.
Our guide, Andres, was fantastic. His English is very good, his car was comfortable, and he made us feel at ease while exploring new areas of the city. At the end of the tour, he also provided great restaurant recommendations when I asked. We had a wonderful experience and would highly recommend this tour and Andres as a guide.

A nice way to get to know more of Medellin.
Mateo was our friendly and courteous driver who came to pick us up at our hotel right on time. He was very knowledgeable about the different places he took us, in a very nice and comfortable car. He also took tons of pictures in a creative way. I surely would recommend this tour to anyone that wants to know Medellin in a pleasant way.

Wonderful!
We had a small group tour with Yuli and it was fantastic! Exploring the Zócalos, and El Peñol and getting to climb la Piedra de El Peñol were all terrific, as was learning from Yuli about life, the food and local culture, but the real highlight was the coffee farm. Learning and taking part in the collection, sorting, grinding and ultimately drinking the amazing coffee was a real treat and Yuli was so kind, helpful and fun!
