Hike to the Celeste River is the sight of an unusual natural phenomenon where the river and its rocks suddenly turn light blue due to minerals washed off the ground into the river. These minerals are the result of the rivers location on the sides of the dormant Tenorio Volcano and the remaining vents from the depths of the volcano. We will then follow the river downstream for a refreshing encounter with an enormous waterfall that spills down the sides of the volcano. Great tour

This tour was extremely informative for the real coffee drinkers. The presentation from start to finish opened my eyes to be more mindful about the coffee that I purchase. We were also taught how to make empanadas and walked through the beautiful vegetable and herb garden. It was other incentives as well, so please don’t hesitate to book this tour. Tio Leo did a great job! I was there for my birthday on 4/18 and he treated me and everyone else like family.

Well worth your time!

This excursion is well worth the time. We saw everything we wanted to see, sloths, frogs, snakes, bats, monkeys and more. Our tour guide and driver was over the top knowledgeable and educated us with everything there is to know about Costa Rica and the places we visited. I can't remember their names, sadly, because those two deserve mentioning!

Amazing in depth tour

Amazing experience with a wide range of activities. I would say it has a little of everything, but we felt like we got a lot of everything. Each part of it was in depth, with our very knowledgeable guide having endless information about all topics. In the driving portion, we stopped to see different kinds of monkeys, iguanas, and birds. The boat tour on the river gave us more lizards, crocodiles, and many kinds of birds along the shore. Our boat captain was an expert at spotting the smallest camouflaged birds and other creatures among the trees. Besides all the wildlife, we visited an area of the river to watch the "sand guys" working and learn about their jobs. We stopped at a rural area for authentic wood-fire cooked lunch, which was delicious and accompanied by tamarind juice and authentic coffee made with the chorreador. There was also a demonstration of indigenous pottery technique and sugar-cane pressing. Everyone involved was extremely friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. A great way to experience so many aspects of Costa Rica in a short time: wildlife, nature, history, culture, food, coffee, etc. We booked this tour with Wendy at Costa Rica Unique.

We had the pleasure of riding to La Fortuna with Alfredo. He was very welcoming and it was a great introduction to Costa Rica. Throughout the trip, he told us fun facts about all the places we were passing by. He even stopped by a local restaurant for dinner before dropping us off. We were especially thankful that he kindly drove back to our rental property the next day to return a camera we had forgotten in his van. I would highly recommend his service to any future travelers!

Great day trip

What a wonderful day trip. We started by having a delicious authentic Costa Rican breakfast at a local restaurant . The hike through the rainforest near Arenal Volcano was beautiful. Lunch was tasty. Nes was a great guide. The day ended with a couple of relaxing hours at the hot springs.

Excellent adventure.

Our guide Juan and driver Omar were excellent and attentive. They were very knowledgeable about the area, the history and ecological endeavors of the country. They shared their passion for their country and the areas we visited. They made this tour exciting and fun filled. They were quick to point out wildlife and interesting facts. Thanks to Omar for pulling over so we could get a closer view of some capuchin monkeys and some other raccoon related animals.

Don’t miss out!

You have to do this! Do the Jaguar package. Guys, if you want to propose to your woman, this is the most romantic thing you can do. The hike and waterfalls are gorgeous, but the thermal pools are awesome. Once you get to the Jaguar pool, it’s your own private area. They leave you with a meat and cheese tray and your choice of wine or champagne and you radio to them when you’re ready to back. I could have sat there all day! With the warm water and the beatify waterfall… so amazing. Once you’re done in the jaguar pool, you go back to a wonderful lunch. The facility is beatify and clean. I’d say pack a light rain jacket just in case. It was a bit cooler when we went but the thermal pools are plenty warm to still swim in. The drive might be a little long if you’re staying on the coast but you won’t regret it.

Worth every penny. The full day experience. They treated us like gold. We'll organized. Our concierge Marc, was great. Helpful, polite and very informative. Shout out to the zip line crew, Jose Luis, and "Riding Bull" took such good care of our group. The lunch we had also exceeded expectations.

Beautiful rainforest hike

Excellent guided tour. 4 mile hike through Rincón - followed by a shorter hike to waterfall for swimming. Definitely for those who are capable of long walks and light stairs. The lunch exceeded expectations- there was entertainment and it was buffet style. Our family of 6 enjoyed it all. FYI the road coming in is part gravel and many pot holes- don’t be deterred.
