Fantastic experience, I will do it again!

This was a really fun experience! I am not particularly crafty, but I was able to make a cute bag with designs on both sides and dye it myself. They have lots and lots of designs you can choose to trace, or you can make your own. They speak English and were super helpful and nice. I plan to do it again next time I’m in town.

Great traditional fun

Fabulous way to spend the afternoon, it took longer than the 1.5 hours booked, so make sure you have some extra time just in case so you're not rushed. The teacher was excellent and spoke perfect English. She guided us through all the steps super helpfully. I chose to upgrade the plate I made, so make sure to take some cash just in case, but I'm so happy with the finished product that it was very much worth the extra.

I absolutely loved this. The gentleman (and his son) taking the workshop really knew his stuff and under his patient guidance we made a beautiful piece to make a light shade. It felt very relaxing and medatitive. Learned a lot about washi paper. Great to see the short film to see how the raw material is prepared. A great use of time whilst our pieces were drying. Our tour was an incredible experience from start to finish. Cicero was our guide and he gave us a through understanding of how sake was made along with its history. The tasting portion was a highlight, where we had the opportunity to try 18 different varieties of sake, each with its own unique flavor profile. The restaurant we visited after the tour was excellent. The food we ordered was delicious and paired perfectly with the sake selections. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Kyoto. It was fun and educational.
