Brilliant Evening with Kim - Eating and Exploring our way around Hoi An!
Brilliant evening spent with the excellent host Kim - covering every part of Hoi An giving us a crop to plate experience of the local food and history. We arrived at her house where she couldn't have been more welcoming. She greeted us with coffee to prepare us for the evening ahead and we had a lovely time getting to know everyone before the trip started. She is a proud woman from Hoi An and her knowledge, experience and willingness to share information about how the authentic local food processes work in Hoi An. We had great fun, visited local food suppliers and manufacturers, explored the rice Fields and markets and ate delicious home cooked Hoi An delicacies, in restaurants, on the side of the street and in local houses. Kim was top class, and made the tour for us. There was no question she didnt answer. Overall a brilliant day and a really good way to explore Hoi An and see a side you might never experience otherwise.

Sumptuous Cooking Tour
Cruise the day on a local boat ride 45mins to Grandma's Island with Thom *answering all our questions along the way. We heard about the locals shrimp & mullet farming. On the Island we walked 5mins to a tropical outdoor setting. A delicious Welcome drink on arrival (today was fresh passionfruit). A well organized day full of food, laughter and learning. We hand made our own rice pan cakes filled them with traditional Vietnamese cuisine and dipped in local dipping sauces. We made delicious spring rolls... and made a Vietnamese salad with pawpaw and prawns. There were Vegan and Vegetarian options for each dish. We finished with the Tuna fish Claypot served with rice. Grandma's kitchen shared a taste of their traditional Vietnamese pumpkin soup and an interesting desert. You will definitely not go hungry on this sumptuous tour.

Hailed as one of the country’s culinary capitals, Hoi An is the ideal place to master the basics of Central Vietnam’s distinctive cuisine, which fuses Southeast Asian and French styles. Sure, you could just feast on bahn mi and cao lau—but cooking classes in Hoi An teach you traditional Vietnamese cooking techniques and offer more insight into the local culinary culture than you’d get from dining at a restaurant alone. These classes often include a visit to a local market, a tour of a farm, and even a ride in a basket boat, for the ultimate epicurean experience.
