Worth the visit.
Visiting Cham Island was a great experience! The team really took good care of us and provided a wonderful lunch. The snorkelling was good despite the lack of fish but the coral made up for it!

Enjoyable island tour
Easy pick up , knowledgable guide and fun day out. The boat ride was comfortable and safe as we had good weather conditions. Nice to have free afternoon time to relax on the beach

Fantastic day
Honestly did not expect how fantastic of an excursion this turned out to be. I’m not a very experienced snorkeler, but know that I enjoy it. I had a great time! Relaxing on the beach afterwards was so peaceful. The best part of the trip may have been our guide Miss Banana. Her energy and enthusiasm really transformed this from very good to excellent.

Sea creatures!!!
This was a great deal. They picked me up from my hotel, even though I was outside of the hotel pick up area (I was on the way, but they took the time to figure that out). Started with visiting an island for some education, saw some temples, safely snorkel with sea creatures, had a very nice beach lunch, followed by some personal swim time. 10/10 perfect day.

Stunning day
A very relaxed day and the islands and beach is beautiful, I got stung by a jelly fish which was uncomfortable but didn’t spoil my day. Sky was our guide and he was great guiding us and keeping us informed. We have one picky eater in a family and he was happy with the French fries at lunch, otherwise the food was delicious and loads of variety to try. If I ever come back to Vietnam I’ll definitely do this tour again!

Worth it for the Underwater Walk Alone
We really enjoyed the tour! The corals out in Cham Islands were better than we expected them to be and the underwater walk was loads of fun! We had a nice lunch on a beautiful beach as well.

Nice experience and good family activity - not the best value for money though
Good experience and fun family day.
It could have been shorter and we could have been back right after lunch - some 2 hours shorter -, but I guess it is a trick for those who factor in the duration of activities when comparing tours.

Family Fun water day on stunning Cham Island
Stunning island, a lovely experience. Couple of areas to improve but did not detract from overall fantastic day. 1. Time waiting for other pick ups, 20 minutes is too long, uncertain if unorganised tourists or poor communication over pickup time, suspect former. 2. Poor communication when we got to wharf. Got thru to waiting area but not advised how long we would wait or where we wait. All worked out fine but a bit unsettling at time wondering if we had missed boat. Communication on all other trips with Viator have been exceptional and the communication on rest of this trip was excellent too.

People Also Ask
What is Cham Island and where is it located in Vietnam?
Cham Island is one large island—Hon Lao—and seven smaller islands off the shores of Hoi An. In the off-season, it’s a sleepy fishing village with million-dollar views of white-sand beaches and coral reefs. In the tourist season, it’s a popular day trip offering gorgeous vistas, water adventures, and rustic homestays.
How do I get to Cham Island from mainland Vietnam?
To get to Cham Island, first go to Hoi An—that’s where all boats to Cham Island start their journeys. You have three options: public ferry, which picks up passengers at Cua Dai Pier; speedboat from Cua Dai Beach (the fastest option, taking about 20 minutes); or traditional, wooden sailing boat.
What are the main attractions and activities on Cham Island?
Besides cultural attractions like the Cham Museum and Tan Hiep Market, most visitors spend time in nature. Bai Ong and Bai Xep are both exquisite beaches, and snorkeling and diving are popular here. Expect fabulous coral reefs and marine life: This spot has been recognized as a World Biosphere Reserve.
Are there any restrictions or permits required to visit Cham Island?
Typically, boats only run to Cham Island from March to August. You need a permit to go snorkeling, and a dive operator can take care of that for you. There’s also an entrance fee to visit the islands, the proceeds of which go to protecting nature on the fragile island.
What is the best time of year to visit Cham Island?
The best time of year to visit Cham Island is, simply put, when the boats are running—typically March to August. Outside that window, the weather can be rough, and boats don’t make the trip. Inside that window, there’s no “better” month, and the weather will likely be warm and dry.
Can I go scuba diving or snorkeling around Cham Island?
Yes, you can go scuba diving or snorkeling around Cham Island. It’s an incredibly popular activity here, thanks to the surrounding coral reefs. You will need a permit from the Cham Islands Marine Park Administration; most visitors sidestep that process by going with a dive operator on a tour.
