What are people saying about Guatemala

Jose is the best!
Jose did an amazing job with our walking tour. We learned so much interesting history about Antigua! He also took one of my favorite photos of my entire trip for me at the Santa Catrina arch. Much as Gracias Jose!! PS Be aware, part of the tour is a sales pitch for jade, that was the only thing we didn’t like, we did enjoy learning about the jade and its significance to the Mayan people, but we didn’t enjoy the sales side of things—I’ve never paid for a sales pitch before. Just something we didn’t realize when we booked.

We really learned a lot...
We really learned a lot about Guatemala! Luis was detailed and informative. He heard us discussing honey and offered to take us to a honey & Mayan bee tour as well. The textile portion of the tour was amazing! Absolutely loved hearing from the women. I’d recommend this tour!

De La Gente Coffee Farm experience
This tour was amazing. We met Carlos and his family. He was so excited to tell us about his coffee farm and how it has been in his family for 3 generations. We did not feel rushed at anytime and he took his time explaining every step of the coffee process from growing the coffee from seed and how to pick the coffee beans. His wife showed us step by step on how she grinds the coffee by hand using a grinding stone and roller. Finally we all sat down and had the freshest cup of coffee from the beans she just grounded! Also the translator did a great job for those that did not speak Spanish. At the end, we had an opportunity to buy coffee directly from Carlos which I did and he also gave everyone a free bag of his coffee. I highly recommend this tour.. Lastly, bring a good pair of walking shoes because Carlos is going to take you out to his coffee fields, which is a long walk uphill from his home.

A Must Do!!
We had so much fun in this event. The instructor was great, very informative, engaging all with lots of fun activities. We each made our own delicious chocolate bars. Learned so many new techniques and facts about the history of chocolate and how to use in different ways, teas, cocao, and syrups. Everyone was able to participate and share. It was a big class, 20 people and it seemed the kids, all boys enjoyed as much as the adults! Well done and we highly recommend this experience 🍫
