We start at 09:00 from your hotel and we lead directly to Kontopoula Village, where we will start with the Olive Oil Tasting at a traditional small factory. There will also be a guide at all the stops that will help us understand everything better. Then, we continue at a local farm at Kamboi Village where we will meet the farmer and the sheeps and he will show us the way he produces the Cretan cheese and milk as well. If you are looking for a hike combining one of the three options: beach, wine or olive oil tasting, this is the perfect tour for you! Imbros gorge is located south of Lefka Ori mountains and take around 3 hours to cross. The hike starts from Imbros village. We will drop you off at the entrance, then pick you up at the end. Our driver will not hike with you. Its around 2 hours driving each way. Most of the hike is in the shade with a narrow trail that cannot be lost. It's good to have a sufficient supply of water and hat. Imbros gorge is a small version of Samaria gorge. The scenery is breathtaking, ideal for nature lovers and wildlife watchers. We believe its the best hike for children from 10 years old and half the size of demanding Samaria gorge. After Imbros we could visit Frangokastello beach or do a wine or olive oil tour/tasting for an hour. You can choose one option. Tastings and lunch are around 20 euro per person each and paid separately. November to March no tastings.

Enjoyable excursion - book it!

We booked this tour at the last minute and we're so glad we did! Pick-up was easy, as we received a WhatsApp message the night before, confirming pick-up time, location and car reg number. It was a small group tour and there were two other couples in the minivan and they were friendly and we had a really good day after we all broke the ice and got chatting. The visit to the artisan soap factory, Helleo was really enjoyable. Thomas welcomed us and explained how they make soap. Such a lovely place. This was followed by a tour of Politakis Olive Oil Mill Experience. We were shown olive oil trees, machinery, photos and videos, which explained the process of making olive oil. This was followed by olive oil tasting: three oils which were then also mixed with balsamic vinegar. We really enjoyed this and then bought some gifts from their store. We then visited the family-owned winery and we're shown around by the lovely owner. We then enjoyed a tasting of three wines. Chatting with the other guests made this very enjoyable. After this, we went for a fantastic, late large lunch at a local restaurant. Overall, this is one of the best tours I've ever been on. The driver didn't bombard us with lots of facts, which is good as we could relax. Book and enjoy a relaxing day, chatting with other travellers.

Incredible food & company

We had such a wonderful day on this tour. So much passion and knowledge was shared and we loved his stories. It was so much really good food so we appreciated the encouragement to box it up and take it with us. We ended up eating it cold at our hotel for dinner and how you know the food is good is when it’s good cold a few hours later! I highly recommend.

All a great way to start our stay on Old Chania.

Our guide Nicholas was great. Beautiful view with coffee overlooking Chania to start. Walk through Old Chania was nice to see areas that we wouldn't have seen otherwise. Wine tasting with Maria was super. Informative but not intense or too snooty which was good for us. Traditional lunch was very good. A lot of food so we took some back with us. All a great way to start our stay on Old Chania.

Beautiful tour and tasting

We had a beautiful time at the tasting and enjoyed great Cretan foods. Heads up that the drive on the mountains can give you car sickness so you might want to bring dramamine or something for motion sickness. Otherwise the tour guide was incredibly accommodating letting me sit in the front, and had plenty of cold water available through the trip. He even helped me with baby wipes to clean myself up. Super embarrassing but he was very kind, understanding, empathetic, and got off to the side of the road both times I asked. Despite the motion sickness I would still highly recommend this tour!

Lovely people, clear...

Lovely people, clear instructions and a fun morning out. We all liked it a lot. Some of us hadn't been on quads before but the trip was tailored so it was doable but not too scary. Doing 40kph on roads and then over some dirt tracks across the countryside for some variety.

Fabulous well packed day!

A really pleasant and informative day about the island, its food, its history, its olive trees and bees. We learned so much! Our guide was dynamic and super friendly. It felt like we did loads in a few hours: visit the world’s oldest olive trees, the bakery, the cheese factory, the bee keeping place, the olive oil factory, the tasting, and the winery and wine tasting! So much was packed in one day. Great value for money. You’ll need cash for the bakery but everywhere else accepts cards. Super super day!

Excellent value for money

The driver, Anastazio, was very engaging and told us a lot about the island and its history. The winery tour is short but interesting. However the wine tasting is an hour and a half sat at a table on the patio, which is a gorgeous location. You get 5 wines to taste with an explanation of each. There is the option to buy food, such as a charcuterie plate or a full lunch, and extra glasses of wine if you wish. All in it’s a 4 hour trip.

Wonderful day of wine tasting with an excellent lunch

A really well planned out and enjoyable day in the wine region of Heraklion. We visited 2 wineries, touring the winery and sampling many many wines (with snacks of cheese, salads and breads to soak it up!). We then headed to the village of Archanes, to taste olive oil and enjoy a delicious 4 course meal accompanied by another 5 wines! We would highly recommend this tour, but don’t expect to stay sober!
