What a fantastic evening! The winery is absolutely gorgeous and we got to try five wines. The staff were so friendly. We also ordered some food which was soooo good. Our driver Spiros was fantastic, sharing information about the area, taking us a different route there and back, so we could see more of the area. Highly recommend.

We really enjoyed everything. Our driver picked us up and was super kind and entertaining! She gave us so much valuable information and insight into life in Crete. The wine tour and tasting was excellent. Our guide was super informative, fun, and enthusiastic - and the wine was really very nice and unique to the area. Loved every minute of the tour and the tasting.

Our trip was amazing, our guide took us to a 2,000 year old olive tree, gave us oranges and avocados. Dropped us off at the winery, when he picked us up, he took us to his farm to have Raki and pet some horses! Basically the best day ever!

The driver, Anastazio, was very engaging and told us a lot about the island and its history. The winery tour is short but interesting. However the wine tasting is an hour and a half sat at a table on the patio, which is a gorgeous location. You get 5 wines to taste with an explanation of each. There is the option to buy food, such as a charcuterie plate or a full lunch, and extra glasses of wine if you wish. All in it’s a 4 hour trip.

A little out of the way from chania, but well worth the trip. Informative tour of wine production and storage barrels. Generous pours of 5 wines. A good introduction to Cretan wines.

The transportation to and from the winery was very timely. Then you’re turned over to the staff and they give you a 30 min tour of the grounds. The wine tasting is 5 wines, but if you want food, it’s extra pay. Get the vine leaves if you do, they were delicious. The wines were fine - too acidic and light for my liking. Overall the experience was fine for the cost.

Our time was changed at the last minute which was really annoying as we'd planned things around an evening excursion. That being said, the trip itself was well run and comfortable and the winery was very picturesque. Just a shame the planning beforehand left a bit to be desired.

Transport to venue was very comfortable. Driver was chatty. Once out of Chania he started talking about the history of the area we were driving through.
Vineyard building modern. Wine tasting was carried out in a covered /shaded area to the rear of the building which was open air at one end. Wines were excellent. Reasonable selection of food to eat after the wine tasting. Food if purchased is an extra. Our only issue was with the tour. The young lady speaking needed to shout or have a mic /speaker to be clearly heard as in some parts of the tour there is a lot of background noise (it is a working vineyard so that is expected).

My partner and I were very excited to have a vineyard tasting while on holiday after reading great reviews, but were left with an acidic taste in our mouths from not only the wine but the poor service as well.
The first clue to a bad experience was when a table of at least 8 adults left their glasses near full to leave as we sat down.
We were left for over 25min without any staff member coming to us to explain the procedure. We didn’t know if we were at the right place, whether the tour was happening or when the tasting would start, just a bottle of lukewarm water dropped on the table by the initial male server.
Once my partner complained, the procedure was explained after apologies offered. The tour started shortly thereafter when a lot more people arrived.
As for the tasting… how does one serves dry breads in Greece of all places without so much as tomato and olive oil? There was a small bowl near the breads and olive oil on the tables, but surely pouring a few drops yourselves would add to the presentation of the dish??
As for the wines… acidic, gave my partner reflux within a few sips. Not to mention the owners vanity labelling some of the bottles with her child-like drawings.
The server that did the tour was good, and answered questions that were asked quite well. The chauffeur drive to the vineyard was also nice with the driver giving us great recommendations for dinner later.
All in all, overhyped, extremely overpriced and underwhelming experience. Avoid if you can.

Regarding your experience at the winery, we would like to clarify a few points. The winery offers tours every two hours (at 12:00, 14:00, 16:00, and 20:00), and our shuttle service is scheduled to arrive just before these start times. We always aim to arrive 10-15 minutes early to ensure our guests are comfortably seated and ready for the tour to begin on time. We apologize if the winery staff did not meet your expectations, but please note that their service operations are outside our direct control. However, we have already informed them of your concerns and feedback.
The winery you visited is among the best in Crete, known for its ecological and biological wine-making processes. While most of our guests enjoy the wines, we understand that taste is subjective, and not everyone has the same preferences.
As for the branding and labeling at the winery, they follow a specific strategy, which is independent of our operations. Regarding the menu or snacks, our tour description clearly states that our services include round-trip transportation, private table reservations, and a tasting of five wines. Any additional snacks or food items can be ordered à la carte and paid for directly at the winery. We make this clear in our tour description so that guests are fully informed in advance.
Lastly, concerning the value of the tour, we believe it’s important to consider the overall cost. A one-way taxi from Chania to Manousakis Winery typically costs €40, with a return fare of €60, as taxis are not readily available in Vatolakos village and must come from Platanias or Chania. Additionally, the winery charges €15 per person for the basic tasting of five wines. For two people, this would amount to €130 (€100 for transportation and €30 for the wine tasting). With us, you paid only €49 per person, totaling €98 for both of you. We believe this represents excellent value, and many of our clients have expressed satisfaction with both the price and the service provided.

Our driver to the winery was absolutely awesome. Friendly, on time and informative. He told us about Cretan culture and music and was simply a treat. The winery was quaint and picturesque. Our host was friendly and open to questions. Wine is always a matter of taste but the tasting was wonderful and we bought a few bottles to take back home. A brisk but lovely tour and worth every penny.

We were picked up at our hotel by a very nice and helpful driver. We were 2 couples in the same minivan. I walk with a walker and have trouble with high steps. But with my little stool's help, it went well. The wines we tasted were of good quality, the only thing was that it was cheap with free accessories. The only thing was a little crostini with olive oil. You had to order and pay for the rest. A little bread to dip in the oil would have been great.
