Trust but verify and verify again

I felt very confident with our arrangement for a private transfer from Zurich to Lucern. I paid in advance to be sure the arrangements were locked in. I had contact from the driver after the arrangements were made verifying pickup time and place. The days before pickup I had verification from Viator for our upcoming service. AND THEN the day and the time and the place came but our driver did not!! Being in a foreign country feeling stranded was stressful. My first attempt to contact Viator failed from my misunderstanding of the dialing process. My second attempt was successful and I reached someone who was very apologetic and said she would text back. True to her word she finally text back that a driver was on the way. 45 minutes late, we were on the way, our requested English speaking driver spoke French but he was delightful. I was disappointed that Viator took the time to verify with me our reservations but apparently did not verify with our driver that it was still on his calendar. I’m grateful for the driver who picked up the job. I probably would not trust Viator in the future.
