The Rhine Falls were...
The Rhine Falls were beautiful but Angela knew so much history about Zurich- that was the best part for me

Black Forest Tour
This tour was both fun and educational. We enjoyed our tour guide, Urs and all of his stories along the way. The visit to the falls was beautiful and learning about the cuckoo clocks was so fun! We enjoyed coffee and cake and it was truly a taste of heaven. What a great day we had!

The falls are beautiful,...
The falls are beautiful, pay the extra 10CHF to take the boat ride, it was worth it. Views are great and the colors when I went (autumn) were fantastic as well.

An enjoyable excursion to the Schwartzwald
We have sailed up the Rhine River multiple times, but never had much of a chance to see the Rhine Falls or any of the Black Forest. Our guide, Paul, met us at our hotel and was very friendly and courteous. The weather started on the foggy side, but cleared up just as we finished lunch in Titisee. The ride back to the hotel uncovered some of the most enchanting views of the Black Forest to the point that my camera was almost out of charge. The pace was perfect, and we never felt rushed, unlike some river cruise excursions. The best part: No crowds or tiny bus seats!

Lovely drive and narration
Beatrice and George were wonderful guides. The drive through the black forest was really nice and Beatrice narrated the whole way.

Fantastic tour, fantastic tour guide, and fantastic views. My eyes will never unsee what we were able to see.
We had a great time learning about the history of the country on the ride to the falls. I am hearing impaired and have to read lips in addition to wearing my hearing aids and Olga went above and beyond to help me. I will never forget it.
The boat ride, the view of the falls, and the museum were great. It was definitely a fantastic trip and I would do it again without hesitation.

I would recommend this tour.
Adding the bost excursion to the Rhine Falls adventure was well worth the 8 franks spent. Tour guide was very informative, the the clean bus was appreciated!

Certainly very nice door...
Certainly very nice door to door service, nice to get to the falls and the Stein am Rhine, which was a very cute location.

Long day, but worth it
Full day experience to Rhine Falls and The Black Forrest. It’s a hike up to the waterfall in Triberg, but the town by lake Titisee was super cute.

Take this tour!
My mother and I went on this tour. Excellent, new and clean coach, great guide and an overall amazing experience!
I loved breathing in the amazingly clear Swiss air. The boat ride to the falls was great - I could’ve stayed on for hours!
Lots of amazing photo spots, lots of fantastic opportunities to get really close to the water.
The only reason I didn’t give this 5 stars is because I would’ve liked a little more ‘free time’ to soak it all in. 😊
Great tour - thank you! 🙏🏻

Good Experience
It was a wonderful experience. Rhine falls and Stein am Rhein both were wonderful. We took a trip on the pink boat which was a lovely experience. Our driver was a little reserved but answered all our queries

People Also Ask
Is Rhine Falls worth a visit?
Yes, Rhine Falls is worth visiting, especially if you love landscapes. Though it’s not Europe's tallest or grandest waterfall, it is the most powerful by volume. Beyond snapping photos, you can take a boat to the edges of the cascade, visit Laufen Castle (above the falls), climb at the adventure park, and more.
How much time is needed for Rhine Falls?
If you’re just popping by Rhine Falls, you can see the cascade in just a few minutes. But if you’re taking a boat trip, you’ll want to give yourself at least an hour, if not more. That being said, most people make a morning or afternoon of it, adding activities like a visit to Laufen Castle or riding the tourist train.
Why do people visit Rhine Falls?
People visit Rhine Falls for several reasons, but the appeal is clear: It’s a beautiful spot combining nature, culture, and family-friendly activities. Beyond taking a boat ride up to the lip of the waterfall, you can visit Laufen Castle—high on a hill above the falls—get some thrills in the adventure park, tour the onsite art gallery, and more.
Which side is better in Rhine Falls?
The south side of Rhine Falls is typically considered “better.” It’s closer to the falls and provides more dramatic views, plus this is where you’ll find Laufen Castle. That said, it requires an entrance fee—the north side does not. There, you’ll find a lovely public-access promenade, playgrounds, and room to wander.
Which is the best time to visit the Rhine Falls?
The best time to visit Rhine Falls is in spring after the snow has melted (which makes the falls' voluminous cascade even more spectacular) and before summer’s crowds have peaked. In terms of daytime, golden hour is a great time to visit—as is after sunset, when the rocks of the falls are illuminated.
Can I see Rhine Falls for free?
Yes, you can see Rhine Falls for free from various vantage points along the river. The north side of the falls (opposite the castle) is your best bet—there’s a nice, bench-lined promenade here, plus restaurants, playgrounds for the kids, and no entrance fee (unlike the south bank). Try to avoid the parking lots, as those are paid.
