Itinerary
Greet your expert guide at a central Zurich location and climb aboard an air-conditioned coach for a panoramic tour of Zurich, a city considered Switzerland’s cultural capital. Admire the rich architectural array and hear tales of Zurich’s prosperous past before travelling to Rapperswil, a charming medieval town known as the ‘City of Roses’.
On arrival, marvel at the towering turrets of the medieval castle and then enjoy some leisurely free time to explore independently. Return to your vehicle and capture panoramic photographs of the Alps as you cross the Ricken Pass and arrive in Toggenberg, a gorgeous region replete with swooping valleys and beautiful mountain scenery.
Next, cross the border to Vaduz, capital of the minute Principality of Liechtenstein, and spend more leisurely free time discovering the charm of the city. Visit the Post Office to catch a glimpse of its highly prized stamps and then return to the coach for the short journey to Maienfield, the stunning setting of the Heidi stories.
Take a pleasant stroll to a collection of mountain houses and absorb incredible views of the surrounding mountains. Opt to visit the Heidi House at your own expense and then gaze at the picturesque banks of Lake Walen as you travel back to Zurich by coach.
Please note: In wintertime, visit the quaint village of Werdenberg instead of Heidi-Village.

Our driver Mark and our tour guide Raymond were excellent hosts! Mark was an expert driver hitting all the beautiful sights along the way. Raymond was very knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor. My husband and I loved all the stops along the way! If you want to get out of Zürich for the day I highly recommend this tour.

The sights were great! Needed 10 more minutes at Heidiland and perhaps 10 fewer minutes in Rapperswil.
Our guide was delightful but it did bother many of us that she got back to the bus AFTER the appointed time for ALL THREE STOPS!
Also, the tour time from pickup to drop off was 8.5 hours, not 7.5. Two people were 15 minutes late one time but the company should show their return time more accurately to allow for tardiness and whatever else.
We had to cancel dinner reservations because of the extra hour as did another couple we knew. I doubt we were the only ones who had problems because we planned on 7.5 hours. We actually thought that included some tardiness and had hoped to get back even earlier than the 7.5 hours.
Just know to plan for 8.5 hours and pray yiu aren’t waiting on the tour guide at every stop. All were there for 2 of the stops wondering where she was. It was only on one stop we had to wait on other sightseers from our bus.
If you're familiar with the story of Heidi I would recommend this trip. A visit to rhe fictional village was cute. Our first stop in Rapperswil-Jona (Town of Roses) was enjoyable, although we were not aware until we were off the bus that this was a stop for lunch too. We had packed a lunch and left our bags on bus, so couldn't access it. While some of the group had gone into a restaurant to eat we wandered around and back-up to the castle. If we'd known we would have stayed up at castle to have lunch and explore more. The views at the top were wonderful. We felt it was wasted time for us. Our guide, Walter, while very knowledgeable was maybe a little slow guiding us up to castle and up hill to Heidiland. The journey into Leichstenstein was a highlight for our teens to enter into another country. Not a lot to do there with the limited stop time.
The tour was not engaging enough to occupy a full day. Could have been compressed to a half day tour only for Heidiland. Lichtenstein did not add any value to the tour, neither did the initial city leg upto Rapperswill.
Great day out, Rapperswil was an unexpected surprise in its architecture, would have rather had the first/ lunch stop at Liechtenstein to have more quality time there but overall great day trip out of zurich!
It is a cramped large tour group so be courteous. We thoroughly enjoyed the stop at Rapperswill and The end stop at Vaduz. Honestly, unless you are bored, are a fantasy story lover, or with young children - skip Heidiland. More time in Vaduz would have been better or more time in Rapperswill for a boat excursion would be time better spent.
This was a beautiful trip. Raymond our guide was very knowledgeable and helpful. Dragon our bus driver did a great job maneuvering the bus on the narrow streets and getting us back safe. The trip starts with a city bus tour in zurich and after they take you to rappersvil where the views are Beautiful! Followed by heidiland and then Liechtenstein. The views on the way alone make the trip worth it. Heidiland views were also amazing. You don't get to spend much time in heidiland or Liechtenstein but it was really hot so it was fine with us. You get 4 tours in one with this one. Well worth it! Really enjoyed this trip.
This was a very nice tour. Raymond, our guide, and Lawrence, our driver, did an outstanding job of taking care of us and guiding us through the tour.
Our guide was very personable, but a bit of a fast walker. That said, he was considerate enough to wait for the slow ones in the group. There isn’t much time to see inside the buildings at Heidiland. Tickets aren’t included in the tour, and the line to buy them moved very slow.
Walking and lots of it, including a slightly steep incline walking to get to Heidi’s house. Be prepared for later than scheduled arrival back to Zurich as traffic can be an issue later in the day
Spectacular scenery! Loved it! Just wish we could have stayed in Leightenstein longer. Don’t forget to take your passport to get it stamped there.
Heididorf, was amazing experience. The tour was great. The guide tour was very nice person and has a lot experience about Switzerland history. Thank you so much!
It is decent. We spent too much time in Heidiland since you have to walk a bit. They should have some transport to the village for disabled people. We got to Vaduz in time for every store to close :(. Our tour guide should have known this. Too much time on everything else before we got to the highlight of the trip… Liechtenstein! Should call the tour EVERYTHING ELSE BUT LIECHTENSTEIN.
Amazing experience. Ray was flexible and he spoke many languages so that was impressive. Dragon the driver drove safely. Bus was very comfortable.
Those who were into Heidi relived childhood dreams. I was interested in Letchenstein and it was small. I wished there were bike rentals to ride along the river even for a short time!
Great trip, the view was perfect, our Guide Carsten was perfect. for someone who want quiet trip, heidiland is amazing
great tour, saw lots of incredible landscapes and scenic points. the stops were great but the route was very nice as well
This was a well put together itinerary at an almost perfect pace (would have loved a little more time at Heildi Land). Brilliant for families as it was interesting to us all (we had a 7yr old with us). Make sure to visit the restroom at every stop as there’s long (but comfortable) drives between stops. All three stops were delightful and it was excellent value for money.
Walter and Milan provided a great trip! Lots of fun facts along the way to all the stops. The a/c was wonderful on the coach and they did not mind snacks and drinks as long as the food wasn’t messy or smelly! All the stops were super beautiful and the chance to get to Liechtenstein was really special!
Walter was a great narrative tour guide and Dragon was an excellent driver. Alll the guests were good and attentive to the instructions and contributed to the trip’s success.
Great timing at each stop and getting to see a lot outside of Zurich. Loved seeing the 6th smallest country.
I enjoyed the tour. I did not know we were stopping at Rapperswill. But that town was nice.
Heidi land was a disappointment. I was surprised the entrance to the 3 buildings was an extra charge.
We spent about an hour in Lichtenstein. I thought the tour descriptions stated we would send 2 hours there.
Ramon dud a good job as our guide.
Great scenery. Beautiful views. Visiting another country was a plus. Narration was great. The storks were my favorite thing.
The trip was well organised and enjoyable.
It was well run and the tour guide and driver were very good
Great to experience a bit of the countryside on route. I would bring along snacks as there is not much time to stop for lunch.
Tour was outstanding! Rapperswil was absolutely beautiful with great views of scenery and lakes. Heididorf was charming and you go through Maienfeld to get there. Liechtenstein was wonderful because you get time to explore instead of standing around doing nothing like other tours do. The guide was excellent, knowledgeable, and spoke clearly and concisely with an added bonus of a tour of Zurich. You will love this tour!
The tour was very nice, scenery was spectacular. The meeting location was easy to find and in a good location.
Brilliant tour, funny and friendly guide and driver, loved Rapperswill a non touristy stop and well worth it! Heidilabd and Lichtenstein were fab too, highly recommend this tour
Incredible scenery, the sentimentality and sweetness of Heidi, and a tiny principality to boot! Raymond (guide) and Dario (driver) gave us an interesting and fun adventure. More time in Heidiland would have made it perfect.
Quite a bit of walking, some uphill & downhill walk on gravel paths. Overall nice tour, lots of scenery.
It was a great day, be sure to pack water! It was hot in some places. We had an outstanding and very helpful guide, Raymond and a truly excellent driver, Mark! Although it was Liechtenstein we wanted to see, we really enjoyed Rapperswil!
The "what to expect" says that the vehicle is air conditioned - that is a very generous description of the double decker bus that we had. It was air conditioned only in the sense that there were vents - which did not blow air for the first part of the tour and then took over 15 minutes to re-cool after every subsequent stop, and even then it only got to a slightly more bearable temperature on board. The stop in rapperswil was beautiful and nicely timed, but not having known anything about Heidiland before the tour, this stop was a letdown and a substantial amount of time (in comparison to the full tour) was spent on something that cost additional money and was super touristy. However, it is clear in the tour explanation that this stop is included so that's on me for not doing better research. The tour guide is really making quite a lot of effort on this tour, however the tour being given by the same guide in both English and Spanish means that he is having to talk so fast that it is hard to follow what he is saying. It should have been clear in the tour explanation what language would be spoken on the tour.
I booked this tour for Liechtenstein (because it is cheaper than trying to take the trains yourself from Zurich), but Liechtenstein is definitely an afterthought. Had I know about the poor air conditioning on the bus, had a better understanding of Heidiland, and knew that the tour would be given in English and Spanish, I would have paid the additional money for the train tickets into Liechtenstein and done that country on our own (even though that would have meant missing out on Rapperswil, which I am very glad was included).
