Alf was the best guide! You can tell he loves the history of his country. His passion showed through! He was funny too! Beautiful sights we wouldn’t be able to see from the road without the super jeep. I would suggest that you consider dividing ther tour to one without the hiking in the forest. It was very difficult for me and most of the group. I would still recommend this to anyone coming to Iceland to see spectacular views! A glacier and remnants of a volcano!

The whole day was brilliant, we loved exploring Thorsmork in the jeep, it was a lot of fun and our guide was great for giving us stories about the landscape and mythology as well as an insight into how the local people still farm the land and cope with volcanic eruptions.

Carlos was our tour guide, he was very nice to us, ensured everyone was safe and comfortable the entire time. Made sure people who get car sick were well taken care of! My boyfriend and I did not purchase the lunch boxes you can get on this tour and just had a PB&J sandwich Carlos ended up giving us the trail mix and rice cakes from his lunch so we had more food. We spent the lunch talking all about the rest of our trip and gave us amazing recommendations for the next couple days. Overall made our trip very enjoyable.

This 7 hour tour was so worth it and Edwin was a great guide. He was so passionate, knowledgeable, and so much fun. Not to hard but you definitely need to be waterproof including the hiking boots.

Icelandic nature is absolutely stunning, but the tour itself was a bit disappointing. I was under the impression—based on multiple photos in the “Traveler’s Photos” section—that the tour included a hike to the valley’s viewpoint. With a duration of seven hours, it also seemed reasonable to expect at least one substantial hike. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case.
Instead, we spent most of the day riding in a super jeep with only a few short stops. Rather than hiking to the viewpoint, we visited a small cave and had lunch. If you're looking for a more active experience this tour probably isn't what you're looking for.

This tour was the highlight of my trip. It was absolutely gorgeous! Wear waterproof shoes. We did a hike and went to a waterfall.

It was educational, fun and invigorating. Good combo of activity, hiking, riding and learning. I enjoyed getting into areas we could not without a vehicle and knowledge to drive through the terrain. Fun guides.

Our guides were fabulous and we loved crossing the rivers, and seeing Thorsmark in a super jeep. Something we couldn’t have done on our own. Thanks for such a great trip! Absolutely would use Midgard Adventure again!

Had an amazing time on this trip! Carlos, our guide, was awesome and we enjoyed hearing his perspective as a newcomer to the island and why he chose Iceland out of all the countries in the world to raise his family. The Super Jeep was super comfortable and we couldn’t believe the rivers it crossed without a problem. We loved the invigorating hikes and the dramatic views they afforded. We all agreed that this was our favorite excursion in Iceland.

We had a great time on our super jeep tour of Thorsmork. First of all, these jeeps are way bigger than they look in the pictures, which is absolutely necessary to explore these parts of Iceland, so don’t be fooled into thinking you can do it in your rental car. Our tour guide did an excellent job in telling us about the landscape and making sure we got safely to each stop. At one point there was a mechanical issue with our jeep, and the company sent a new jeep while we were on our hike, so no time was lost. The valley of Thor is a beautiful place that really can’t be appreciated from pictures alone. We were lucky to have a beautiful summer day with no rain, but I’m sure it would still be worth it even if raining. Would definitely recommend to anyone traveling through the region.

We loved driving on the black sand beach overlooking the Westman Islands. Our hikes up a slot canyon and up a glacial valley were beautiful and memorable. The high point was hiking up a mountain overlooking Porsmork Valley and viewing the river below and the glaciers all around us. Our guide, Ragnar, was friendly and had many interesting stories to tell us. This is a stunning valley and it would be impossible to experience without a specially equipped vehicle and guide. This experience was one of the highlights of our trip ! SO worth it !

First few stops were fantastic! As the day went on things may have lost a little excitement. It is a bumpy dusty ride and our jeep had no air conditioning and it was warm. Our guide “crazy” Sveinn made up for it though with his enthusiasm! He made us laugh and all in all it was a great day.

Ragnar provided a day filled with laughter, fun, and education. My partner and I loved every minute of the day-trip. We hiked to a few remote spots with incredible geology, passed through fun rivers in the Super Jeep, had lunch in Thor's Valley, then hiked an incredible mountain for wonderful pictures and views. Ragnar really did a great job including everyone and helping everyone (he even stood in the stream to help all of us cross it). Ragnar and Midgard Base Camp provided an amazing all day adventure for those who are up for the fun. Would absolutely go back and will miss this great day.

We really enjoyed the Stakkholtsgja Canyon and the incredible waterfall inside (the guide made it extra fun with the stream crossing) 😊. We also enjoyed the hike with the gorgeous view of the valley 😊. Additionally, the visit to the Gigjokull glacier was breathtaking and the guide was very knowledgeable and shared a lot of great information with us. The guide went above and beyond to make this a memorable experience for us with adventurous river crossings and a detour to the beautiful Gluggafoss 😊 Thank you so much! 😊

Outstanding locations you can’t reach on your own unless you are a local and own a 4x4 that too modified. Easy hikes, especially if you are fit. We had few elderly people who made it too(yes, they were fit, and didn’t get left behind), but still worth it even if you just step out and don’t hike. Local guides who know the place unlike other trips we’ve taken where foreigners find work here for the summer. Non pushy. Good food. Overall excellent. Pricey but worth it.

Landschaften, die man als Selbstfahrer nicht gesehen hätte. Sehr kompetenter und freundlicher Fahrer/Guide. Der „Wanderanteil“ war zu hoch. Für die Anzahl der Teilnehmer etwas zu teuer.
