Phenomenal Food Tour!

What an experience! We did the private Vancouver food tour with Mathieu, and he was just amazing. He was so knowledgeable, energetic, and passionate about Vancouver history, architecture, and (of course) food. We visited a variety of places and sampled so much: a porchetta sandwich, toffee bar, Scotch egg, CBC taco, sushi, and local chocolate. The tour takes place around the Gastown district, so while there's a bit of walking, it's not overwhelming. Everything is well paced across about 2.5 hours (at least for our private tour option). HIGHLY recommend for anyone wanting to experience a sampler from Vancouver's best eateries!

Unfortunately, this food tour didn’t live up to expectations. While the concept sounded great—exploring Vancouver’s food scene with local insights—the execution fell short. One of the restaurants had completely run out of food, which was disappointing and made the experience feel disorganized. The other stops served tasting portions that were extremely small—barely enough to get a real sense of the dish, let alone feel satisfied. For a tour that promises a culinary adventure, the portions and planning just didn’t deliver. The cultural and historical commentary was interesting, but it couldn’t make up for the lackluster food experience. Overall, it felt more like a walk with a few snacks than a true food tour. Wouldn’t recommend unless the organizers improve the food offerings and coordination.

It’s unusual for one of our food partners to run out of items, as we work closely with them to ensure consistency, so it’s surprising to hear that this happened on your visit, and this will certainly be looked into. Your feedback is appreciated, and while your experience seems out of the ordinary compared to what our guests usually enjoy, it’s helpful for us to know.
