You pick the starting place and the duration for your hop-on hop-off tour from one of the key stops in Vancouver—such as Gastown, the Robson Shopping District, or Chinatown. You can get on and off the open-top bus as often as you like to see the highlights of Vancouver at your own pace.

It was our first trip to Vancouver. By taking the hop on and off tour bus we were able to see and do everything on our sightseeing list. Sherry was excellent and lots of fun. The ‘live’ guides are amazing. The other guide was Simon, and he was good too. I recommend the 48 hour pass, if you are there a few days.

With limited time, the Hop off and Hop on bus gave us a great experience. We stayed on the bus one round wirh Simon who was very informative. We got off after one round when Simon told us about the steam clock and since we also was getting off, he walked with us and took our picture in front of the clock. After exploring on our own for a while, we got back on the bus to return to the hotel. Sherry was the driver that time and we wished we had time to ride another complete round since she seemed to be very funny in telling her stories of what you would see along the route.

Waste of time the bus barely goes anywhere you can’t walk from downtown and the audio is not very informative.

Depending on your driver you might get a more personal experience or just a tape running talking about the sites. I would recommend taking a pic of the drivers return time so you don’t have to wait as long when you hop off and on. Sherry our middle driver was amazing and funny!

The guy at the ticket redemption place was very lovely, and friendly. He went above and beyound to help me figure the morning out. Driver, although quiet most of the time, provided information when needed and waited at stops long enough.
I only did the city tour since I am afraid of heights and needed 5 hours to kill after checking out of my hotel. Was raining cats and dogs, plus was alone and wearing a sandal due to foot injury, so did three laps instead of getting off and exploring the city.
On the bright side, I learned a lot about Vancouver, BC from the audio guide. And if I was the posting type, I would have photos galore at my arsenal to keep folks glued to my profile for a few minutes on the social media of my choice.
On the not-so-bright side, there wasnt much to see. Not saying the city isnt lovely. It is clean and full of nice people willing to stop and lend a hand, even if English appears a diffocult language for most of them [for an ex-British colony, and the English-speaking part of Canads, that is]. Even if USD doesnt go far here, Uber and doordash were cheaper than most Metropolitan cities. You also do not see a lot of homeless people on the streert, just folks on the way to and from work [thin and fit, like New Yorkers, but really awfully dressed. Like some country-bumpkin's version of hip].
Alas, none of it can hide the fact that Vancouer, BC, does not hold a candle to nearby Seattle, nor LA, nor Newyork, or even San Diego. The few places it could boast, and make the tour worth while, like the Totem Poles at Stanley Park, werent part of the tour. Nor did we go into the "world famous" market, or saw a lot of China Town [yes, they still call it that over there]. We kind of grazed by/over everything without offering a real glimpse of them for the traveller who may not have time to hop off and explore.
Still, it wasnt the worst.

Get the bus with Sherry at the wheel. With her it’s a fun and educational ride. She makes it very enjoyable. We had a gentleman for the first leg and he was good too, but nothing compared to Sherry. Big bus should be happy to have her

The route advertised was partially cut off, so we didn’t get to go to many of the areas that we would have like to see.
The highlight was Stanley Park. We got off the bust to journey and see the beautiful park!

Great overview of the city with the access across the city for shopping and dining. We purchased the 48 hour pass and never looked back. Also, if you take this bus to stop 1, there is a free bus that takes you out to the Capilano Suspension Bridge and back, which is also amazing!!

Definitely use Viator to buy Hop On Hop Off bus tickets if you have discounts. We saved $42 due to using credits for 2 - 48 hour Hop On Hop Off bus tickets. We used these and SkyTrain tickets to get around the city with relative ease and save our feet.
