Our group of four (4) international visitors and our wonderful guide, Conor, met at a well known landmark in Gastown and we learned a bit about local history. From the delightful steam clock to the delicious Monarca margaritas, and finally, the layer cake at the Ukrainian community epicureal wonder...our food tour was a resounding success. Highly recommend!

Gastown is a fascinating funky historic area. Very flat decent walking surfaces. Entire tour takes place within just a few blocks. Enjoy some inventive and creative food. Bronson was a great tour guide. Highly recommended.

Overview

Get to know Vancouver’s famed food scene on this half-day walking and food tour of historic Gastown. As you stroll through the cobbled streets with a small group, you'll learn about the neighborhood's storied past from your informative guide. Of course, you'll also sample fabulous food and drinks, from Ukrainian boar to chocolate babka to local wines. You'll even get to try your hand at making your own cocktail.

Itinerary

Make your way to the Gassy Jack Statue midafternoon for your 3-hour food walking tour. The amount of actual walking is moderate — about 30 minutes — as you’ll spend most of the time noshing on culinary delights.

Begin with a stroll through the Gastown on route to your first tasting. Admire historic architecture and hear a colorful narrative about Vancouver's humble beginnings, and soak in the atmosphere of this eclectic neighborhood.

Over the course of the tour, you’ll enjoy a complete progressive meal, ranging from savory to sweet. Sample pork belly crackling, tempura scotch eggs, parsnip fries, and British Columbia wine.

Then, wander into Gastown’s Blood Alley for grisly tales and another culinary delight, before wrapping up the tour at a popular dessert spot, for a sweet concoction that’s almost too pretty to eat . . . almost.

At the end of the tour, your guide will provide you with a foodie guide to Vancouver, complete with discounts at select restaurants.

We had a fantastic afternoon walking, eating and drinking our way through Gastown. Nolan, our guide, was very personable, knowledgeable and a fun host. The three spots we went to were all good and very different. Our group of six clicked too, we went out after as a group. I’d highly recommend this tour.

Beautiful day in Vancouver

It was a beautiful day in Vancouver Brandon was a good guide. The food was not what was listed in the discription but it was very good. I have went on many food tours. My only complaint is it takes to long. For the 3 hours they need one more food stops. Even if it's one where there bring out a tray with samples There is too much time waiting. Over all a good day

Our guide Tracy was helpful, entertaining and very knowledgeable about this area of Vancouver. We greatly enjoyed the stops at several restaurants and experienced a wide variety of interesting dishes and local drinks. The historical information was also extremely interesting. Tracy's enthusiasm was infectious and I would recommend this tour to anyone with an interest in local food and history. My only tip would be for those who are arriving by car: once you have tried the various local beers, the wines and a cocktail, all included in the price, you will not be drunk but you will be over the limit for driving, so either use public transport or don't try everything on the tour!
