Fall in love with the beauty of Vancouver on this half-day whale-watching adventure.
The tour departs from Granville Island, near downtown Vancouver. Hop aboard your specially outfitted catamaran, built for whale-watching and designed to minimize its ecological footprint.
Have your camera out and ready as you scan the waters for different species of whales, as well as an array of seabirds and other marine life. You'll travel in comfort in the heated indoor cabins or can head outdoors for unobstructed views.
As you go, your naturalist guides will share their stories and knowledge about the area's geology, wildlife, and ecosystems.
Finally, after half a day on the water, return to your original departure point, where this tour ends.

What an incredible trip! Not only did we see humpback whales, we saw them breaching at least 20 times. First time we have ever seen such beauty. But what also made this trip special, was the onboard guides. They were extremely friendly and knowledgeable, always smiling and talking to the passengers. In particular, I would like to mention Wilma. This isn’t just a job to her. You could tell she absolutely loves what she does and was so friendly and personably. I would not hesitate to recommend this trip. Fantastic.

Great experience with very knowledgeable crew. Danni was very entertaining and informative. Good safety perspectives as well and had the animals welfare as a priority. Bring a jacket, water bottle, hat and sunscreen!

It’s a good time. I saw whales and some other interesting animals (no spoilers though) which the crew knew how to find. The crew also gave us info about the whales which was interesting.

A big catamaran (80ft) with indoor and outdoor seating. The big boat is better able to handle choppy water. It was great, very smooth. Tables are available inside and we had a place to have lunch - We packed sandwiches, snacks, and beverages. Tour guides were super friendly and very knowledgeable. Fox, Bella, & Jake were very social and inviting . Bella translated in English and Spanish and all three were giving excellent factual information about the wildlife. We chose the 2:30 tour and stayed out about 3-4 hours. We saw 2 orca families traveling together with baby orca pups!!! We saw sea lions and seals, a bald eagle literally catching a fish, and we saw 3 humpback whales. This was an unusual trip to see so much but we lucked out!!! The crew takes amazing pictures as part of your package which came out great. They uploaded the pics the same day!!! Captains Anthony and Luke were on point handling the ship and are very experienced and considerate with how they manage the movement. Just riding on the ship and experiencing the sights and nature on the top deck seats in the sunshine was also extremely enjoyable. We enjoyed the complimentary hot chocolate and took a ton of family and wildlife pics!!! All around absolutely amazing trip!! Bring cash to tip if you have the same/similar experience. My family and I totally felt they deserved a monetary thank you as well as the verbal compliments!!!

A long time spent on the boat chasing possible whale sightings
Saw in the distance some Orcas and the outline of a grey whale.
May have been that day was a slow day or the conditions didn’t suit the whales, but felt is was a bit of a waste of money to sit there for 5 hours and see very little. We understand nature can’t be controlled and expectations need to be realistic, but the rules of the waters mean no getting closer than 200m to Orcas anyway so unless you have a super hi tech camera, not going to see a lot
Pictures were provided of what we did see, but again, no wow factor.
Chose carefully when booking whale watching.

Fun and educational whale watching with Prince of Whales. We were so fortunate to spot both orcas and a humpback, and even had a mother and “baby” orca surface unexpectedly right in front of our boat. The naturalists were so full of knowledge (special shoutout to Dan) and spread around the boat at various locations so everyone could always be in earshot of one of them. Happy we saw the creatures we did but even without the wildlife, cruising through this scenery is lovely.

This was absolutely amazing. It was 5 full hours of the most beautiful views and sightings. My group was very lucky in that we were able to encounter a pack of orcas (with a newborn calf!) and a very curious humpback whale (Banya) that popped right by our ship!!! We also saw eagles, harbor seals and sea lions. Our naturalist was Dan and he was great! He knew a lot and was happy whenever we asked a question. I would absolutely recommend this. I would encourage people to actively participate. It makes the experience so much better!

We had an absolutely excellent time. We saw orcas and humpbacks as well as seals, bald eagles, and even a raccoon! The facilities are clean and easily accessible. The guides were VERY knowledgeable and friendly. We traveled with children, and the large size of the boat allowed for mobility on the long ride--an absolute life saver. The fact that they have a photographer on board made the whole trip so much more pleasant. It allowed us to really enjoy the moment without having to see everything through a lens, and the photos we received were great! I would 100% recommend.

We saw a family of three whales (later learned they were known as Forge, Ocean, and the baby). The little fellow was flipping and having fun. It was hard to time the pics. I realized later that it was best to take videos. I got a video of the dad and attaching a still frame from it. It was awesome. Later part of the tour was pretty amazing -- closer to the mountains -- and in the region the water turns jade color (from the glaciers). Had run out of battery by then.
The tour guides of this Prince of Wales trip were excellent. Our guide was the young fellow talking upstairs (sorry, forgot the name!!), he was extremely passionate about whales and the environment they were describing. Bald eagle came up often and often. Highly recommend this trip. It was my second-best whale watching trip ever.The first was over 20 years ago in Boston area when there were many whales. Now they are not seen much in the Boston area.

I have experienced multiple whale watching tours in SoCal. Most of them end up being dolphin watching tours. To all my SoCal kin, you must book this. It’s stunning. The ride itself puts you in a tranquil state of reflection. We were fortunate to see a whale breaching and playing, a bald eagle, other sea life, and our captain and crew was fantastic. Great tour. Plenty of whales had inside and outside seating. Hot chocolate was great. We saw orcas and many humpbacks. The crew had a lot of knowledge. Like that they give u photos after. We have previously done whale watch in Victoria same time of year which had 1 whale which was a disappointment because we see more in Boston. Checked off my orca sightings that we didn't get the prior year which was bucket list for us.

What an incredibly fun experience! We seen sea lions, orcas (even got to watch them play!) and a couple humpback whales!

Captain and crew was very mindful of the safety of both the guests and the animals we encountered. When we spotted both humpbacks and orcas, they were able to quickly identify each animals and relay interesting information about their lives.

Our family had an amazing time during the whale watching adventure. Captain Roman, Luke, Jake, Dan, and Fawkes were great. The travel was very smooth and Jake was in constant communication let us know everything we were watching, historical tidbits, a wealth of information, as well as great anecdotes.
We got to see a couple of pairs of humpback whales, sea lions, seals, bald eagles. And we were extremely fortunate to have one pair of the whales breach right next to us and the other pair just "play" around the boat.
It was a great experience and very well run.

I had the privilege of joining the half day whale watching excursion today. It was the experience of a lifetime. We saw humpback whales, seals, eagles and ORCAS!
First, the boat was spacious and comfortable with lots of room, drinks, and washrooms. However, what really made the experience shine was the crew! They stuck with it until the very end of the journey when we unexpectedly came across a pod of 4 orcas. It was neat seeing the crew get as excited as we did. The authenticity of their care was undeniable and you can tell that they love their jobs.
We had a great time, listening to information about the whales and even learning their names! The crew let the adventure go a bit over time so that we could enjoy the time watching the orcas. I was so excited to see the whales that I forgot to get my phone out; luckily the crew was equipped with a photographer who took pictures throughout, and these were sent to us by email very quickly after the tour.
It was an incredible experience with a wonderful company. I’d definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a whale watching experience!
