Breathtaking one of a kind sunset fews! Learning the history fantastic, too. A definate experience to not miss. Fly's are a bit much, so be sure to have a face net or a fan.
Response from Host, Mar 2025
Hi Debra,
Thanks so much for your review! We're so glad you enjoyed the stunning sunset views and learning about the history – it really is a one-of-a-kind experience. Just a heads-up, during the summer months, the flies can be a bit annoying, but we’re happy you still had a great time. We hope to welcome you back for another amazing experience soon!

The sunset tour of Kata Tjuṯa was very average. The driver of the bus did not explain anything about the rock formation on the drive there or back. He just drove us to the viewing platform put a table out with the drinks and nibbles. There was not enough seating for the whole group at the viewing area. We wandered off further on the track and found another area that had seats. The drinks and nibbles were plentiful.

Great experience, knowledgeable and friendly staff. Nice way to wind down at the end of the day. Nice nibbles & good bubbles.

The whole experience from beginning to end the staff were brilliant. The canapés and drinks provided were delish and plentiful. You won’t be disappointed

Sharing the trip with a local guide.. Learning about the history. .The colours were incredible. Our guide Haley was great.

The tour was on time and pick-up directly out front of our resort. The driver Andrew was patient, careful, and obviously very experienced. He was like an encyclopaedia of local and other indigenous history and culture. His team mate “Roxy” ably assisted him and she was also friendly and helpful. The canapés and drinks were plentiful. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and highly recommended.

The view of Kata Tjuṯa during sunset are something to see. We went in June, flies are a nuisance. We were told they are worse in the heat of summer.

Amazing and beautiful would recommend this experience to anyone who is keen to see a spectacular sunset

The view of the rock formations and the stunning sunset. The guides were great - detailed commentary and excellent drinks and nibblies on arrival.

Of course the awe inspiring scenery, food and drink but it was our tour guide’s Lucy sense of humour and knowledge that really made this memorable

The sunset colors were stunning. We got lucky as we were the only group and there was so much space to spread around.

We had an amazing driver/guide. She was friendly and knowledgeable and went out of her way to ensure everyone had everything they needed including memorable photos. There was also plenty of food and drink to go around. Not technically a half day, as it was a max 3 hour round trip. I’d definitely recommend this experience.

Great experience of the Kata Tjuta sunset with drinks and nibbles. The guide commentary around the national park and the site was very deep and informative. Well organised by AAT King staff. Value for money.

Many thanks to Debbie, who did both the driving and lugging and supplying drinks and nibbles for our group. She was skilled, professional and friendly and shared her personal connection with the magical land and country we were viewing. It was an honour to be on her tour.

When the sun hit Kata Tjuta which made them glow. Just the beaut of Kata Tjuta and the silence of it all.

The final moments before boarding the bus. The trip back to the resort showed Kata Tjuṯa in all her glory.
Lynne_M, Nov 2022
We were not told the trip was cancelled
We waited for the bus as arranged at 4.15
Finally we contacted reception because we could not contact the operators
They informed us it had been cancelled
Very poor
I realise you can’t change weather
I realise you are a business
But really this is the best you can do
Response from Host, Dec 2022

Watching the changing colours and fiery red of the rocks.
The excellent guide/driver who was very informative and pleasant.
His assistant was very friendly and lively and the drinks and canapes were excellent.

I booked this tour for a family getaway after my dad passed away. On the day before the tour I received a notification from Viator saying pick up time was 5pm. The tour has already left at 4.30pm.
I am so saddened and disappointed that Viator refused any refund whatsoever. They also went into my booking and removed the 5pm pickup time. Very deceitful. Thank goodness I kept a screenshot of the pick up time reminder of 5pm and will be taking the matter further.

The overall experience of being in close proximity of the famous Kata Tjinta rock formations.
The beautiful sunset, and the awesome bus trip to get there.
A dream realised.
Lauren_M, Jun 2022
Unhappy about the lack of organisation for pickup. Too many people. Desert gardens is the last pickup.
Paula_K, May 2022
Our tour bus driver was articulate and knowledgeable. I learnt the most about the area from this lady. Amazing, beautiful, spiritual place.

Seeing Kata Tjuta at sunset was very disappointing but still great to see. The drinks and nibbles were fantastic but the flies were horrendous definitely make sure you take a fly net for your head.
Julie_C, May 2022
What a great way to see Kata Tjuta at sunset with great food and drinks. The trip guides were wonderful, very informative and helpful. The bus was so comfortable. Thank you Eddie and Rochelle for a wonderful afternoon/evening. Julie and Robert C.
Karyne_S, May 2022
The view. The food was not good and not worth the cost I’m afraid. 3 bowls of dip which everyone dipped into and cheeses all on a plate was not ideal at all. Surely time could have been spent doing individual food containers for each person to enjoy with their drink - No small plate offered and had to ask for surviette which they didn’t have - very bad organization and set up. operators were nice and bus transfer was excellent.
Response from Host, May 2022
Hi Karyne,
Thank you very much for your feedback. I'll pass it on to relevant teams.

We could not decide whether we wanted to see Uluru at sunrise or sunset. This trip resolved the issue for us as we went on an earlier trip to see Uluru at sunrise and then saw Kata Tjuta in the evening. It gave us variety. We enjoyed canapés and wine as we watched the rock change colours while the sun gradually retreated. We would recommend for people who want a change from Uluru itself.
AlessandraSere_G, Oct 2017
Its say half day, actually you just go near Kata Tjuta and stay there for the sunset which occur in the opposite site, so to catch sunset you have to turn your back on the mountains. Wine is average, beer, lemonade and water are available, some chips, cucumber, carrots and 2 sauce... but you cant get closer to the mountain. Not worth it, if you want to see the mountains and have a walk closer, just take the hop/on-hop/off thats available even at sunset.
