My favorite part of Ubud! We had a great time with Putu! Book a morning class so you can visit the market. After that, we saw the rice paddy and went to the home where the class is. We also learned about the home & even had a little music lesson. The cooking class is great for anyone and everyone! All of the food was delicious, and it's really cool to get to be a part of the process. They handle the setup & clean up for you so you get to chop, stir, and enjoy! Highly recommend for everyone!

I really enjoyed this cooking course and feel there were things I would try again at home. It was good to visit the market and get an insight into a local family home.

Outstanding, Special, Immersive Experience

Rachel_N, Jul 2023
This experience was outstanding! The Jambangan Bali Cooking Class is the best value for money activity I have done anywhere in the world. It’s immersive nature and being treated as a member of the family was just so special. Wayan and his family are gorgeous, humble people (with wicked senses of humour) and it truly was a privilege to be welcomed so wholeheartedly into their home. The structure, pacing & group management of the Jambangan Bali Cooking Class is outstanding. There is less focus on cooking techniques & more focus on Balinese culture and it’s relevance to enjoyment of the food. I loved the process of making a simple offering basket and learning about its significance. I also love, love, loved the market & rice field tours! Our class was an intimate group of 7 - 3 couples and myself… I was paired with a family member for couple tasks with was very touching and inclusive. The cherry on the cake was eating the 8 dishes we made, Nasi Campur style, and then receiving a certificate of completion and printed recipe booklet to recreate the recipes at home OR as Wayan suggested, to open a branch of Jambangan Bali in our home countries! This is a must do experience and I highly recommend to all :) Pro tip: hotel pick-up/drop-off service is provided, but if you prefer to self drive on a scooter, the route is easy from anywhere in Ubud and the location is marked with a roadside sandwich board.

Great Class

Cooking class was great. We cooked 8 dishes and the food was delicious. The class was very well organized and we learned a lot. At the end we received a copy of all the recipes so new we can do then at home.

Delicious and amazing

Amazing Balinese Experience

LenaKatharina_K, Oct 2022
This cooking class was incredibly great! We were picked up from our hotel and then went to a local market where Wayan showed and explained each ingredient we used for our dishes. We really loved that Wayan always mentioned alternatives if certain ingredients are not available in our country. Afterwards, we went to Rakesh's home where the cooking class found its place. Here we received a super warm welcome and Rakesh told us a lot about his home as well as his family and life. During the whole cooking Wayan, Rakesh and his family provided a lot of fun and tried to get everyone involved in the cooking process. Afterwards we all ate together and got the recipes for everything we cooked that day. Would always recommend this cooking class to others.

Our favourite thing in Bali

Jak_S, Jun 2022
One of the best experiences in our lives. Myself and my partner booked the class expecting a culture shock, and culture shock is what we had! Wayan and his family were so welcoming to their home, they gave us a tour of their home and treated us like a family member. The cooking was very thorough and enjoyable with lots of chat. The food was amazing but the company was perfect. I highly recommend this to anyone who travels and stays in ubud. 10000/10

Delicious Food and Good Memories!

Edward_N, Feb 2020
We had a really good experience. Wayan and Made taught us a lot about their home and culture, and the food we prepared was the best we’ve had in Bali. We also got to visit a coffee plantation afterwards (I’m not sure if this is always included in the tour though, or if we just had extra time). I would definitely recommend this class to anyone visiting Ubud!

Chill afternoon

Fantastic cooking class! Our teacher Made and her cousin taught us a number of Indonesian dishes at her home. Since we took an afternoon class, we got to go to a coffee plantation and samples various coffees and teas. Made also took us to her family's rice paddies on our way to her home. My husband is allergic to chicken, but they made sure he was able to cook and eat with no problem. Everything tasted delicious! We'll definitely come back and take another class in the future.

Super, mit das beste...

Toller Abend

Markus_G, Jul 2022
