I spent a wonderfull day with Nyoman and his family. First a visit to the local market, then to a ricefield his family owned. At their home we received a welcome drink and some homemade cake. We made a traditional basket to offer to the gods and then started cooking. Everything was well organised and the level of care in preparing en presenting the food was incredible! The food tasted amazing! Don 't hesitate. Just book!

A must do cooking class in Ubud

The cooking class with Ibu Dewi was excellent. The right balance of do it yourself and demonstration. Great local location, with wonderful, green and lush view. All recipes provided. Food was delicious and plentiful. Pick was also great, with a few stops along the way to visit a small market and coffee/ tea house. There were 5 of us in the class, It was a real pleasure meeting the other people who shared the experience.

The very nice and kind lady, the owner of cooking class The cooking was very ordinary, leaded by the owner. The fried rice was not the best I ever tried, although it should be an easy dish to cook, and other dishes been also to hobby style

We booked the cooking class as it included a trip to a traditional market and rice fields. The market we visited had very very little stalls and was very underwhelming. The driver told us he couldn’t bring us to the other market which was disappointing. We were then brought to luwak coffee, there was no rice field tour (which was meant to be included) which was disappointing as we had already done luwak coffee. This part of the tour felt very unorganised. The cooking class was interesting, cooked various dishes and had them for a buffet style lunch. We enjoyed it but overall felt a little underwhelmed.

The experience of learning to cook Balinese food using traditional cooking tools was wonderful! My husband and I worked together to create 11 dishes, including dessert. We were staying in Ubud and got picked up, brought to a market to learn about local ingredients and then brought to a beautiful home that grows their own herbs that we used in our dishes. We even walked away with the recipes written out for us so that we can make these dishes at home. The experience ended with us enjoying the foods we made. I am sensitive to Spicy dishes. Therefore, Maday, our host, helped us make Spicy dishes that were within my tolerance level. He had us taste things throughout the cooking process. I would highly recommend this activity to friend groups and couples as it is a lovely bonding experience. My husband and I had moments of “great job with this peanut sauce” and “wow, this soup you made is delicious.” All while sitting in the beautiful setting of this village in Bali. The hosts were welcoming and the experience was truly amazing. Our host then dropped us off back at our hotel and wished for us to enjoy our visit and encouraged us to text him if we had any questions while cooking Balinese food at home.
