A wonderful gem in Ubud! My husband and I loved our cooking class with Putri who was so kind and patient. Each dish was delicious and felt incredibly authentic, we also loved seeing a Balinese home which really added to the authenticity. Come on an empty stomach! You won’t regret booking this experience in Bali. Thanks!

What an incredible experience! The day started with a tour of the local market, were we got to see the different ingredients needed to prepare the food. Next we visited a local home and spent time learning about Balinese life and living over some coffee/tea, snacks and great conversation. Then we went and cooked a six course meal that was absolutely delicious! The ingredients were so fresh! The staff were so friendly, professional and fun! It was a truly immersive and intimate experience! I highly recommend this tour! It was definitely one of the highlights of my trip!

If you like to cook or admire cooking, this is the experience for you! Putri, a culinary genius, helped me prepare the most delicious meal that I’ve had in all my time in Bali. She taught the old traditional style of cooking which is easily adapted to modern gadgetry. With one fairly simple base, we created five completely different flavor profile dishes. Unbelievably awesome. As a cook, this was truly a highlight and I will treasure this day! Come hungry and be prepared to have all your senses excited!!!

The class was excellent, we were exposed to not only the best local food but also got to learn about what it is like to live in a Balinese family compound. Putri was an exceptional instructor, and all the staff were extremely accommodating when my partner experienced a sudden bout of heat exhaustion and were able to assist in keeping her cool and comfortable to allow her to quickly rejoin the class. Highly highly recommend, a must do if you're in Ubud.

Loved my morning with chef Ron! I was the only one who wanted to get up early that day so I got a private market tour and cooking class. Everything was explained well, and it was hands-on but with plenty of help offered. Ron was an entertaining host, and the grounds of the cooking school are beautiful and relaxing.

We really enjoyed this experience from Lesung Bali! We started in the market and learned about the morning market’s significance in Bali culture. We even got to try some local fruits. Then we went to a traditional Balinese house for coffee and learned more about the culture and temple. Ron was so informative and answered all the questions we had. Finally it was time to cook! It was great making traditional food with the help of the team. Ron made the morning fun with his jokes and good attitude. The food was delicious on the end! We are so thankful for this experience and all we learned about the culture!

This is a 5 star experience and if you don’t do it when in Ubud you are 100% missing out on an experience that delivers in terms of culture, culinary delight and fun. Our guide Ron was absolutely sensational and gave my daughter and I a very personal and profound insight into Balinese life, family and cooking. This activity was an absolute highlight for us and we truly appreciate the fun and laughter Ron brought to our day mixed with some amazing Balinese cooking. You must do this with Ron and Bali Lesung Cooking School for a truly unique Bali experience. Shoutout also to his 2 female assistants who not only helped us cook up a storm but took some memorable photos. P.S. The food was absolutely delicious too!!!!!

For authentic organic Bali cooking experience, this is the place to go. We opted for pick up from hotel option. From the time we arrived , we were welcomed with a nice surprise of tea and steamed banana pudding and a very informative talk about the Balinese culture. This was a nice unexpected on. Followed by the actual cooking..what an experience. Loved loved loved it. The use of organic ingredients and the fusion of flavors , absolutely memorable experience. The host Ron was so friendly and the ladies who were assiting were absolutely amazing! 5/5.

We had a fantastic experience with this cooking class! Our group of 4 made for a friendly, intimate setting, and our guide was incredibly knowledgeable. The day started with a relaxed market tour where we learned about local fruits, vegetables, and spices, with the option to sample. We also visited a traditional Balinese home and learned about family compounds and daily life, with time to enjoy tea and snacks. The pace was slow and enjoyable. Cooking was so fun; we each got to make our own dishes and even used a giant mortar and pestle to grind spices. The setting was lush, clean, and beautiful, and we ended up with more food than we could finish. Highly recommend!

This cooking class was awesome! We started by visiting a traditional Balinese home, which was super cool and gave a nice introduction into local life. Then it was time to cook—and eat! The instructors were super friendly and made everything easy to follow, even for someone like me who’s not a pro in the kitchen. We made a bunch of delicious dishes. The best part? Eating everything we made! I left full, happy, and with a few new moves in the kitchen. Totally recommend it if you’re in Bali and love food.

This experience was a wonderful treat during our Bali trip! Ron and team did an excellent job of teaching us how to cook Balanese cuisine. It's clear they have a lot of experience, and they take a lot of pride in both what they have to offer, and their ability to teach others. One interesting highlight was the tour of the Balanese traditional home which was aesthetically incredibly impressive. We also go to play with some of the fishes! We've been to a few cooking classes in our travels around the world, and this class was top-5 favorite for us. We'd happily recommend this to our friends and family, and are excited to bring them here next time.

We were picked up promptly from our hotel and taken to meet Ron who conducted the class. Ron was lovely, very welcoming and very funny. The experience started with a tour around a Balinese house which was a good learning experience and then a tour of the garden showing us the various fruits and vegetables grown. We then made six dishes and enjoyed a lovely meal. The facilities were really nice even though it is in a garden. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and we would recommend.

Wow! What a wonderful experience with Lesung. Truly expansive and heart centered. Gustie was an amazing chef and teacher. He also offered to pickup us up and drop us off back at our farm stay. On the travel he shared insights about his culture and gave us some background on Balinese ceremonies and traditions. He welcomed us into his family home and we were able to connect with him and his family with some fruit and native foods that he prepared us to try before starting the class. It made the experience that much more meaningful and deeply connected to the heart of what we were learning. He collects most of his ingredients from his garden and you can taste the love and respect for the land in the food. I am so excited to have had a hands on cooking experience and new recipes to eat back at home.

We had a great experience at Ron's cooking class! Communication upfront was very professional (quick and in decent English). We got picked up and were warmly welcomed with coffee, tea and a local snack and got a quick tour around the estate. For the cooking they have a nice seperate space with all the tools you need. The menu is carefully thought through, so that you can easily learn to make some of the most well known traditional dishes from this area. And we got a lot of personal attention and help from Ron and his assistant. After about 2 hours of cooking we got to experience if we did well. Of course, the proof of the pudding is in the eating. I would definitely recommend you to try!

What a fun half day I had with Ron! This is an experience I’ll never forget. Ron is not just talented in his cooking skills, in fact, you get so much more in his knowledge of the Balinese life, culture, family and community. He is very caring and takes the time to share coffee, treats, relax and just talk. I loved it! The tour of the homestead, local friends and gardens was very relaxed and I didn’t feel rushed at all. The cooking was super fun! Lots of laughs - Ron has a great sense of humour! And the food is delicious!! The aromas and freshness of each and every ingredient are wonderful! If you want authentic and sustainable Balinese cooking, have a lot of fun along the way - here’s the place to go!

The tour started with tea and coffee at the Balinese house, we did not see inside, but were able to view the grounds and garden of this home. The cooking was very hands-on, which I loved. I did the cooking for everything on my plate except for the rice (which I would have liked to cook myself). I did the meat option, which included 6 different dishes, and dessert. The Chef, Begul, was very funny. I like being walked through every step of cooking, but at times I felt a little rushed, and there were small spices and such that Begul was adding to my food that I had to ask about because he would add them without explaining or telling me. But other than this, this cooking experience was very good, and I learned a lot about the authentic flavors of Balinese cooking. 10/10 would recommend
