This cooking class is a wonderful experience I think everyone should try once in Bali. We booked an afternoon session so we didn't go to the market, instead a driver picked us up from the hotel and to us to Wayan's wonderful home. Once everyone had arrived (around 10 people) Wayan welcomed us to her home and showed us her kitchen. The steps for preparing and cooking the meals was made very clear, and her staff were very helpful in assisting us. It's appropriate for any level of cooking prowess, and the food we made was delicious! Taking the recipe book home was the icing on the cake.

The best thing about this class was learning how to cook the excellent food. I have been eating so far during this vacation. The hands on demonstrations and opportunity to participate in the preparation should help me re-create these dishes at home. Class had adequate support staff to make this a very efficient Opportunity

If I could give 10 stars I would. Chef was so gracious for not only sharing her home but the love of her food. Wife and I are amateur home chefs and wanted the learning experience of preparing authentic Indonesian cuisine. Shared a kitchen with several individuals from 3 different countries which made conversations interesting & enlightening. Traveled 22 hours from the USA to Bali. This was one excursion worth the trip & I’d highly recommend. Oh, BTW, the food we made was amazing!

Family cooking class

We booked a cooking class with Paon Bali Cooking and it was a wonderful experience. We were met in town by a representative and taken to the central food market in Ubud to see local food and spices. From there we were taken to the cooking school which is also the home of Wayan and Puspa. We were treated to Balinese culture by visiting the family temple, with Wayan providing us with explanations which were educational. After this we started the cooking class and we made a number of dishes as a group, everything being carefully explained and we were all given opportunities to do different tasks. We cooked a selection of dishes (see the pictures) Once all the food had been cooked, we then sat down to eat the fruits of our little labour. It goes without saying it was delicious. The class is professional and seamless… all credit to Wayan, Puspa and all the staff at Paon Bali Cooking. I would definitely recommend this to friends and would do it again on a return trip to Bali.

Fun, engaging & delicious food

We started our tour with a visit to the local market. Lots of unique produce and fruit which is native to Bali and Indonesia. Our guide was very knowledgeable. We ended up buying spices which are hard to find in the USA. For the class, we were joined by a couple from Sweden and another couple from Switzerland and Spain. You get to prepare a authentic Indonesia meal at the chef/owner's home. The class was very engaging and we learned a great deal. The instructors were friendly and it was wonderful chatting with the other students. We highly recommend this tour. You will love it.

From start to finish the whole experience did not disappoint. The market tour guide was well informed about the local produce and the uses for them all. The cooking class was engaging, all the steps and the purposes of each ingredient was explained thoroughly and it was very easy to follow along. Highly recommend.

It being our first time in Bali we knew we needed to do a cooking class. If you are looking for a great experience to do with friends, your partner, or yourself look no further! We met at the meeting point, were given a tour of the market, were transported to the cooking class area, and were given a ride back. It was super simple and fun! Many young people took this class and the food was delicious. You make many dishes and the pace was perfect - never a dull moment.

I really enjoyed this experience, it was one of the favourite things I did on my visit to Bali. Visiting the market to understand the ingredients, and then going to a traditional Balinese house to cook in, which is set up in a class structure for cooking. The food we cooked was exceptional and I enjoy every part of this tour.

We loved our time at the cooking class, we learnt a lot and the authentic food is amazing. We had our Adult daughter and two sons with us and all came away all the more delighted with Bali. We really enjoyed our experience. We would recommend it to anyone.
