We did not get to go on the tour we originally booked. The tour company changed the tour once, then day before the changed the tour again. And then the day we took the tour it was too windy to snorkel out on the reef. So even the promised upgraded tour was mostly a day on a boat with a short stop to swim. One of the guides seemed pleased to be doing the tour, she was upbeat and shared a lot of information with her group. Our guide seemed liked he got forced to work on his day off. We did find the boat tour in the Sian Ka'an Unesco World Heritage site breathtaking and seeing birds, marine wildlife and the mangroves was amazing. I am thankful I was able to be placed on a tour but was left feeling like I was just an inconvenience to the company and they just didn't want to lose out on our money. So, overall I was disappointed that they couldn't fulfill the tour I requested and would have appreciated a candid "sorry we can't do the tour" early enough that I have found another company who could have.

Wow, this was an amazing tour. Jonathan and Paloma were thoughtful guides, punctual and informative. The entire day was magical. For the Tulum tour, Paloma was so knowledgeable. The lunch was delicious and fun. And the Sian Ka’an portion incredible. We even saw a spider monkey!
Highly recommend this tour. Lucky you if you get Jonathan and Paloma.

The Sian Ka'an experience was really one of a kind. You get to float in life vests along a shallow stream, driven by soft currents. Highly recommended especially if you're into water activities. Note, however, that changing facilities are terrible - they're just small, cramped, dark and dirty. Prepare accordingly.

We had a beautiful tour of Tulum, on the cliffs, and the Sian Ka'an Reserve. Alfonso answered all of our questions about the Mayans and current day inhabitants of Mexico. I didn't realize the "float" required a bathing suit, but felt comfortable doing this in my clothes. (I think we missed one message from Viator regarding bathing suits, sunblock and bug spray.)

Incredibly peaceful activity. Floating down centuries old canals carved by the Mayans was amazing. Our guide, Iber was great, he had snacks and water and regaled us with knowledge of the lagoons and canals!

Don’t skip this one- it’s incredible. The archeological site at Tulum is beautiful, and the local food experience was awesome! Floating down a magical waterway amidst the natural ecology of Sian Ka’an was the experience of a lifetime.
Lea is a knowledgeable, fun, and patient guide who took such good care of us! It was evident that she cares both for her clients and for the amazing area she shares with them. I cannot recommend this activity enough!

The experience was great from the start! From the pickup, to the ruins, then a wonderful lunch and the grand finale was floating down the canal. Cesar was our tour guide who was so knowledgeable about the history of the ruins and the water canal. They dropped everyone of us to our accommodations and Cesar even made us cookies and brought bananas and water for the group. It was an unforgettable experience!! Definitely would recommend this tour!!

Exploring the ruins and the Sian Ka'an with Mexican Kan Tours was a great experience. Our tour guide, Joseline, was very friendly and knowledgeable. The beach around the ruins was amazing - I would recommend going to the tour already wearing a swim suit. When it was time for the lazy river, she was extremely accommodating to my partner and me and she really showed expertise in being a guide and problem solving. The Sian Ka'an was very beautiful, and I would really recommend that experience. I also like how the tour comes with water and snacks. Would definitely book with Mexican Kan Tours again!

I had an amazing experience at the BioSphere reserve, i booked for Tulum archaeological and Biosphere tour but was upgraded to the Discovery tour, the tour Lea was an amazing, knowledgeable and very friendly guide, we got to see different birds, stingrays, Salt water crocodiles and the rarer Manatee, ending the tour with some snorkeling and lunch. Highly recommend this tour and especially the guide Lea.

A really fun packed day. Started with viewing the ruins, followed by time to swim at the beach. After that we ate in a very traditional restaurant which was great, then went off for the boat ride and float down the mangroves which was a very unique special way to end the day. Victor was our driver and we felt in very safe hands and Lilly our guide was full of knowledge and was an extremely fun guide to be with. All in all a perfect day out which I would highly recommend

Loved this tour. It really was all day but Alondra and Carlos were great guides! Ruins, tons of fascinating Mayan history, beach, local taco joint, cemetery and an amazing float down a “lazy river”. Highly recommend if you have the time!

A lovely day out experiencing some amazing gems of Tulum. The ruins was really interesting and much vaster than I expected, with lots of interesting facts from Alonsos. Getting there early on is great because it’s not too hot or too busy - we even had a quick dip in the sea! You don’t get to see everything but Alonsos had enough facts to cover all the bases. The lunch was a nice addition as was a little wander around Tulum. The best bit is, of course, the float down the canal at the end. Truly magical and so peaceful.

Fantastic experience! Wear comfortable shoes,
take a towel and bring your phone/camera and bring a waterproof dry-bag for your belongings that won’t be left on the shuttle. Also, you’ll have free time to shop for souvenirs or get coffee, etc. so bring some pesos.
Niko, our guide, was seriously amazing. He’s multilingual, is very knowledgeable in historical culture and was super helpful for all participants the entire tour.

We were reminded of the incredible feats of the Mayan empire with its advanced knowledge of astronomical calculations that could forecast solar eclipses and tracked solar and lunar annual timetables for the planting and harvests of crops. Our favorite highlight was Sian Ka'an Muyil where Mayan ruins still lay buried in the lush surrounding jungles and mangrove framed lagoons that spread as far as the eye can see. Even here the Mayan legacies remain in the intricate canal systems the Mayans dug through the marshy savanna's limestone beds of sand to give them seafaring acces to and from the Caribbean. As we drifted and swam through the canals' gentle current we witnessed the incredible interplay of light between cloud-stacked sky and water that turned the clear water shades of emerald green and deep blue as the sun filtered through the billowing clouds. Hats off to our informative and ever supportive guide Iber from Mexico Kan tours who made our day-long journey an unforgettable experience.

We thought the Sian Ka’an river float was the best thing we did in Tulum! The tour is on the pricier side because of it, but it was well worth it for such a unique experience (I have never ever swam down a mangrove, even though I’ve been to loads of mangroves). The waters were incredibly clear. Really surreal. Anyway, the tour ran right on time. Our guide was nice overall but perhaps a little too softly spoken. The tulum ruins are fairly small but the views along the coast are pretty. Lunch was included with a drink and it was tasty. The van was a bit old and didn’t have seatbelts. The drive to Sian Ka’an has a 5 minute bumpy section but nothing too harrowing. Then there was a boat ride to the mangrove, before you float down the mangrove with a life jacket on. The floating part lasts maybe 25 minutes but it’s really incredible and it’s more than enough time to appreciate it. We got back to the office right on time.

Paloma (guide) and Gniberto (driver) were very friendly and knowledgeable about the history of tulum. All of our crazy questions were answered and they even stopped so we could enjoy some cold coconut water. Highly recommend this tour as the lazy river was out of this world!!
