Overview
Norwegians have been ice fishing in their crystalline fjords for millennia, and with this experience, but even if you're brand new to the practice, you can try your hand at landing a prize catch in the frozen waters of the Ullsfjord just like a local. Cast your line and then head to basecamp with what you’ve caught to learn how to clean and cook it, Norwegian style. My husband and I had a great time ice fishing with Karin. The fishing spot was a beautiful location. Our group caught a few cod. Karin explained how to use the equipment well. We went back to her home and she cooked the fish we caught and was very delicious! The whole experience felt very authentic. Thank you for having us!

We really enjoyed this ice fishing experience. The excursion was well-organized, and the guides were friendly. It was really special being able to go back to Karin's home to cook and enjoy the fish we caught!

Oscar was supper friendly and with a great sense of humor. It was cold but he had extra clothes for us and great shoe spikes . Later cooking the fish that was caught and eating it was very tasty. Thank u Karen for ur hospitality and Oscar for a great time

Amazing experience with ice fishing. Super professional friendly guide. We didn’t manage to catch fish ourselves but had wonder fish burger and grilled fresh Cod fish at their house which was really cozy. Highly recommend!!

Ice fishing was so much more fun than we expected. Karin is a great host and had great vibes. The other people that we got matched with were also fun and everyone had a good time. It was so amazing that we booked again with Karin. It requires a bit of patience, and even if you don't catch any fish, the views are amazing!

We were extremely fortunate to book our ice fishing tour with Karin! She provided a truly authentic, fun, and exciting adventure. From snowshoeing across the frozen fjord and catching plenty of fish to snacking on dried fish chips and sitting around the indoor fire pit eating the fish we just caught, our tour was far more than we expected. Great experience! I was one of the lucky ones that caught a big one early so they may help with the experience, beginners luck. It was a short ride away from Tromso and after our catches, we were invited to their home to eat, drink, and enjoy some smores. Great host and great teacher on how to properly ice fish.

This trip was one absolutely brilliant! Karin and Oscar were very friendly, funny and helpful. The fishing was excellent, everyone on the trip caught fish and the heaviest being around 4kg! Karin then welcomed us into her home and cooked the fish, which was beautiful, finished off with toasted marshmallows in the bbq hit.
I’d highly recommend this trip, and I would love to experience it again one day.

My son (12) picked this activity for himself as THE thing he wanted to do. He loves fishing and the idea of digging a hole and fish under the ice was a dream of his. Karin did not disappoint! The little piece of frozen paradise she took us to allowed the group (7ppl) to fish 8 cods, of which my son caught 4. Needless to say he was in heaven. Grateful for Mother Nature's gifts, and also for Karin's gorgeous little BBQ cabin where she hosted lunch afterwards. If you have cooking facilities where you are staying, you are also welcome to take some of the caught fish with you. Apparently it is good luck to catch a fish during the Chinese New Year, plenty of it to.come then!

Super guide with great opportunity to bring in fish. Hospitality and food was outstanding!!! Karin is phenomenal and prepares us well to fish as well as a superb hostess preparing the meal and enjoying in true Norwegian style!!! Be prepared for a small hike down to the fjord…. and back up again! G

Amazing trip from start to finish!
Lovely and very knowledgable guides who gave us a great experience of ice fishing. Managed to catch multiple fish, one of which we later had for a delicious lunch. An amazing trip all around!

It’s my first time in Tromsø, and I wanted to experience ice fishing. The weather unexpectedly cooperated, and we started by drilling a hole and learning how to bait the hook. Every experience was a first for me, and I didn’t expect to catch anything. Suddenly, there was a response on the line, and I caught a fish! I thought that would be the end, but then we were invited to a cozy cabin to grill the fish and enjoy a meal with locals, accompanied by delicious hot drinks. It was a wonderful day filled with unforgettable experiences! Highly recommended for first-time visitors.

Brought my mom and friends— all of us had fun and I recommend this to everyone. Don’t forget your toe warmers! Coolest experience being in the hut and having fresh fish after. Literally love the woman who runs this and we talk about what a cool experience this is was over a year later.

Great excursion!! If you enjoy nature activities this is a great one. We caught a ton of fish but even if we didn’t I’d say it was still fun to be out on the ice and learn about ice fishing and afterwards we ate an amazing meal with the fish we caught (but in case we didn’t catch any she had fish burgers prepared).
Highly recommend this tour. Great for families or anyone who wants a good pic with a fish. Surprisingly ice fishing is much easier than regular fishing. The fish are super easy to pull up.I did this as solo traveler and loved it

First time fishing.
The guide, Karin, is very knowledgeable and engaging. We were in a group of 7 people in total(not counting the guide), which added a personal touch that would not be possible with a bigger group.
We managed to experience drilling holes through the ice ourselves as well.
Our group was quite successful with fishing, and we had the fish we caught for lunch. Lunch was delicious and atmosphere cozy.
The people we were with were also very fun to be around, which made the experience even better.

I would highly recommend this tour! The peacefull time at the frozen fjord, amazing views on the white mountains, the guide, and the fact it was a small group, everything was just perfect. We caught about 9 cods, they taste so good!

Nice outdoor activity (1,5hr fishing) combined with great Norwegian hospitality and nice BBQ with freshly caugth fish. We enjoyed every minute of it and had a great time, with some nice food in the BBQ hut.
