This is an interesting tour and Odile was an excellent guide. She clearly knows the area really well and took us to places I would never have thought to go into. All the tastings were very good quality, although a bit heavy on the carbs! Kensington market is not an actual marketplace in the usual sense - its an area full of small independent shops and eating places- but it has a huge variety of international food available.

We took four tours in four days, and this was one of the most interesting. I particularly appreciated the variety of food we got to taste (American, Japanese, Caribbean, Tibetan, and South American). Food good, guide disappointing.

Food was excellent, guide was disappointing. She spoke so quietly, we missed information. She would tell us to gather close but when standing on a narrow sidewalk we blocked the way for other people. It was clear that people outside of the tour were a bit annoyed with us. She also didn’t make a huge effort to gather people closer together in restaurants so we never felt like much of a group. Having a reserved table for our group would be better than sitting at separate tables in the restaurant stops. I’ve seen that done with many other food tours. I’m glad I was with someone, because if I was a solo traveler I would’ve felt quite isolated.

Out and about Kensington Market

My experience was first met with a wrong starting point on Viators behalf. I arrived 35 minutes ahead and at the start time called our guide ONLY to find out i was at the end point and not the starting point. Our guide Damian was the ABSOLUTE BEST 👌 He patiently came to find me as I was a little frantic about possibly missing the food tour. After he found me we exchanged details about my information from Viator. Damien lead a well planned food tour. The places he guided us to were fun and engaging. The different foods offered were of local original cuisine. I would list the foods but that would spoil the fun and adventure 😋 I loved every moment even in the cooler winter setting. The warm store front owners were all very nice and had such amazing food. I was very full and did not have a need for lunch. I would definitely recommend Damien and Tasty Tours again and again.

I would recommend that she speak up twice the volume because it was difficult to hear her with the noise of the streets. If she spoke up louder it would be a five star experience

This tour was a great opportunity to understand the local culture. The area consists of small family businesses that offer food you would never find on your own. It was a safe and very educational tour. The food was from Tibet, Jamaica, Israel, Mexico and China with other countries too. Great experience!

We had Odile as our tour guide, and she was wonderful and pleasant! We got to hear a lot of interesting details about the Kensington market area, the history, the current culture, and a lot more. I've been in Toronto over 13 years and I discovered things that I didn't know about! We explored little alleyways in the area, which is something I wouldn't have done on my own, and it was really fascinating to hear how the city has been changing over time. The food was a nice touch as well. One thing I would add though, I think it would be nicer if the tour guide can bring a sign or something to make it obvious that they're for this tour. We weren't sure where to go or who to look for when we arrived at the rendezvous point. Other than that, it was quite nice!
