We were welcomed by a very helpful crew. I definitely recommend the window seats. We did have difficulties with the app to order drinks but the crew came to help with no stress at all. Food was really nice. Entertainment was lovely as well. I particularly loved The Scarlets!

Wonderful evening on the Harbour!

Jessica_H, Mar 2026
Welcoming staff! Fun live music. Little bit of noticeable rocking from the water. If you get sea sick do take something.

We booked the starlight...

Bronwen_B, Mar 2026
We booked the starlight dinner experience and added the window seat option. My husband and I had a good window side table and our waitress (Queen I think?) was so lovely and friendly. You can order your drinks by scanning a code at your table and then ordering and paying for your drinks through that. Drinks were a little pricey but not too bad. The canapés were tasty as was my smoked salmon with lemon and fennel. My husband had the ravioli entree which he said was nice enough but felt like it hadn’t been hand made. It was similar to the packs of filled pasta you can get from the supermarket. We both had the lamb shoulder with mash for our main but I wish I had chosen one of the other options. The lamb was very fatty and drenched in a super salty gravy. The mash was delicious but it definitely wasn’t a fancy dinner main. The desserts redeemed things a bit. My husband had the chocolate and mandarin dome whereas I had the mango coconut (I think) option - very nice! The live music was ok but very old school. It would have been nice to have a more lively jazz duo / trio who played more upbeat and less older generation music. The boat left from King St wharf which involved us taking a cab from our hotel in Circular Quay (CQ) to Darling Harbour… only to find that there was a passenger pick up from the CQ after all. I did not see this as a pick up option but worth asking. The cruise took more than the 2 hours advised. We were out for more than 2.5 hours and the passengers disembarking at the original wharf would only have got off at 10pm. Overall we enjoyed our dinner cruise but felt the meals were not good value for money. The wait staff were very friendly and professional and it was amazing to see Sydney at night from the water. We’re glad we did the cruise but would not do again.

Sydney Harbor dinner cruise

Ashley_G, Mar 2026
A wonderful dinner cruise in the harbor of Sydney, with up-close viewing of the iconic Opera House. Food was delicious and the views were spectacular. I highly recommend this excursion if time allows you in Sydney!

Wonderful

Valentines Starlight Cruise

Brian_B, Feb 2026
It was an amazing night for the event that it was with the perfect backdrop of Sydney Harbour that made it more special - especially the fireworks (not sure if that was planned). Amazing friendly staff and ambience although main meal was a bit cold by the time it got to us but memorable night nevertheless. Thank you Viator and Captain Cook Cruises.

Could be better

Nila_S, Feb 2026
It was a great night, the food was excellent however the drinks are not included in the package. Unlike in Melbourne the drinks were included and it was bottomless. For elderly who doesn't have access to smart camera would have been difficult for them as buying drinks is thru online.

A very nice tour...

Richard_T, Feb 2026
We just had to include an evening harbor cruise during our very short stay in Sydney. From other reviews, we chose this tour and we weren't disappointed. The harbor is beautiful to look at during the day. But at night when the Opera House is all lit up along with many of the buildings along the harbor...well, we just had to see the sights from the water. The boat was large and comfortable. We stayed in the harbor so the 'waves' weren't anything to cause skittish folks concern about sea sickness. We sat in the climate controlled first level. I believe that there was a 2nd level but I can't recall for sure. There were plenty of tables on board and the age range of the attendees went from 20 years old to 80 years old (I'd estimate). We had a 2 piece band on board entertaining us as we comfortably cruised the harbor and had dinner. The dinner menu was extraordinary! There were plenty of food selections available for a very nice dinner. And there was a full bar (all alcohol based drinks and wine cost extra). The tour doesn't require anything from the passengers besides a smile. Bring a sweater or something as it can get somewhat chilly on the water. We had people on board using walking assistants (e.g. canes, walkers, etc). They looked like they easily maneuvered throughout the boat with no issues. I recommend this tour highly.

Great value and experience

Mark_P, Feb 2026
Ride was closer to 3 hours than the 2 we expected but that was fine. The extra time allowed us to go up to to take in the city scape after dinner. Staff in the restaurant were on it and the music was good as well. Food was better than we expected. Sydney is beautiful at night, good way to spend our last evening in Sydney.

Sydney Rocks

James_K, Feb 2026
Well worth it! Contrary to many negative reviews the food was great. There was a vegan option, a beef option. I had the chicken breast with a potato cake, spinach and carrots. My wife had the barramundi and said it was amazing. The dessert was delicious too. The staff was friendly and attentive. Like most restaurants here you scan a QR code to order and pay for drinks which than get delivered by wait staff. You start at daylight so you get beautiful bridge and Opera House views on the way out and see them again all lit up on your way in. Our tickets told us we had to get on at Darling Harbor but they stopped at Circular Quay to pick up more people. We were able to get off there on the way back for a shorter walk back without an issue. The catch is you lose about 45 minutes of cruise time if you don’t start and finish at Darling Harbor.

Good dinner and relaxing time

phyllis_s, Feb 2026
We boarded on time, and were shown to our pre-assigned table. Canapés were on the table and delicious. The wait staff took our order for starters, entree, and desert. They were prompt, polite, and accommodating us intermittently eating and stepping outside for pictures. The food was hot and good. They had a live duo playing and singing. The only disappointment for us is that bridge and Opera House are not brightly lit except for special occasions, but we were still able to get amazing pictures. I would recommend this for a relaxing, good dinner and cruise.

Great food

Colleen_F, Feb 2026
Food was excellent with a few options to choose from. The staff was all super nice and friendly. Great experience!

Staff was very nice. Ship...

Kristin_G, Jan 2026
Staff was very nice. Ship was clean. Scenery was beautiful. We had a great experience. However, the food was marginal at best. If you are taking this cruise for a nice dinner - this isn’t the dinner cruise for you. For the company - would be nice if you had seating in the outdoor decks. We spent a lot of time outside and some seating would have been perfect.

Exceeded expectatiins

Cheryl_T, Jan 2026
This tour was top notch. Delicious food and great service. The boat is beautiful and the evening tour was spectacular.

Exceptional evening

Cynthia_S, Jan 2026
Service was good, entertainment good, FOOD DELICIOUS! From appetizers thru to desert. Views of the city at night from upper decks amazing.

Sydney by boat

carl_f, Jan 2026
Nice dinner in a nice venue with views of Sydney Harbor and skyline! Wind in your hair on a warm night while passing under the bridge, with closeup view of the Opera House!!!!

The scenery was gorgeous...

SHEILA_C, Jan 2026
The scenery was gorgeous and the ship lovely. The boarding process was very confusing with nobody there at the dock to tell people where the ship was or what the process was. Food was okay, not exactly what was described on the website. But staff did a good job and we definitely enjoyed the evening.

Fun evening to see the city by sea

kati_k, Jan 2026
Took a lovely dinner cruise around the Sydney Harbor. So nice that all reservations already had a table assigned so embarkment was so easy. Food was three courses and also surprisingly good for the type of trip we were on. It would have been perfect if we were in a better spot for sunset and if there has been some commentary on what we were seeing so four stars instead of five but a very enjoyable evening.

Wonderful!

Joanne_W, Jan 2026
The dinner cruise was wonderful. Servers were fantastic and food was fabulous. The views were magnificent. Highly recommend.

Worst sunset cruise EVER!!!!!!!

Tyrone_T, Jan 2026
It was a rainy last day in Australia. Like everywhere we go. We like to end it if possible on an evening cruise. The boat was somewhat dated like some has said. They do have a small selection of liqour. I drink whiskey. It went from Jack Daniels straight to Johnnie Walker. The food was decent. Typical cruise tour type meal. However, because of the rain we couldn't go outside to enjoy the beautiful scenery. That's were the issues start. Inintially, the two band group started playing some nice diner music. But, when returning from break which was probably not even 30 minutes into the cruise, things went left. I guess they decided you're stuck on the ship and we're going to play want we wanted to play. It was horrible. We left that deck just to escape the noise they called music. Only to find the lower deck had flooded. You're telling me that this was the first time. It's true they pickup another group of passengers during they cruise. They are also the first to get off when returning. We got off with the them. We couldn't take another minute of this so called cruise. DONT DO IT!!!

A nice excursion!

Chi_P, Jan 2026
Captain Cook cruise was very organized. The food was delicious with live music. We have plenty time to capture the sunset!

Wonderful Experience

Michael_W, Jan 2026
We truly enjoyed the cruise. Our meals were very good, the service was great, and the views exceptional. Our only complaint is that they allowed some people who took the daylight cruise to stay on the evening cruise at no charge. We would definitely recommend this trip.

Boat stops at Circular...

John_K, Jan 2026
Boat stops at Circular Quay on way out to collect more passingers when you are in middle of your meal. Not what i had paid for.

Amazing harbour views

Stephen_H, Dec 2025
We had an amazing time on this evening cruise around Sydney Harbour aboard Captain Cook Cruises. The dinner was tasty with excellent service from the crew and afterwards you can go up on the top deck to take in the sweeping views of the bridge, opera house and north shore…there were even fireworks which made it more spectacular!

Very nice but needs more attention on celebrations

Jai_R, Dec 2025
I did inform that it was our 39th wedding aniversarey but there was no celebration from the host disapointing

Beautiful Sydney Harbor

Mark_S, Dec 2025
Great views! Great food! Great entertainment! Each table has a fantastic view. You also have access to the top deck.

Beautiful evening

Terrible food

Monique_V, Nov 2025
Food was really bad. We had different dishes each one was really bad. Entertainment was ok and of course so were the views.
