Begin your morning or afternoon Alsace wine tour in Strasbourg, where you’ll meet your guide and climb into an awaiting 8-passenger minivan. Travel along a gorgeous road known locally as the Route des Vins d’Alsace, or the Alsace Wine Route. Follow this 105-mile (170 km) route as it winds through rolling hills near the Vosges Mountains through land that contains hundreds of famous Alsatian wineries.
Find out how the soil, climate, and sun combine to create the perfect conditions under which the Alsace region produces world-renowned white wines. Taste most of the seven grape varietals that are grown in the area, including gewürztraminer and Riesling, noting how complex and different the flavors can be.
Get back on the Alsace Wine Route to end up at your next stop, a wine tasting in a classic Alsatian wine cellar (caveau). Find out why cellars such as this provide the ideal environment for the aging and storing of wine.
After the visit to the wine cellar, enjoy the scenery out of the minivan windows as you make your way back to Strasbourg.

Our favorite tour we did while in Strasbourg! The guide was super knowledgeable about both wine and the region generally. Was just expecting to be totally wine focused but she pointed out things on the drive out to the wineries and answered a lot of questions about the history of the towns and families involved which was all an added bonus. Also obviously the wine is great!

Our guide and leader, Jerome, was knowledgeable abou wine and the area, PLUS, a generally nice guy.
He took us to 2 wineries for tasings which were both delicous and fun.

Knowledge and fun guide who shared a lot of good information about the region and the wine. Went to small wine producers which is what we wanted.
Harilla_P, Dec 2025

Leticia was amazing. Highly recommend the trip and her. 6 star. The worst part is having to write a review with requirements after sending multiple request. Let a person say what they want.

Laurence, our guide, was awesome! So fun to spend the day with! What I also loved about the tour was that the company has relationships with dozens and dozens of wineries in the region, which means that you could book this tour again and have another totally unique experience than the last time! What I will say (and it is not a criticism!) there really was no food included in the tour. Yes, it absolutely says this in the tour description, but if you’ve done a lot of winery visits like I have, you may also think that the wineries will be providing nibblies to help you soak up the alcohol. Perhaps, it depends on the specific wineries, but in our case one location cut up a bit of bread and that was all. I’m only mentioning this because it is also A LOT of wine! We tried 15 different wines that! So, what I’m trying to say is don’t skip breakfast!! I had a blast, bought a few bottles of wine and schnapps, and will definitely book this tour again!! Thanks, Laurence, for an amazing day!!

Tour with Ophorus, scheduled thru Viator was fantastic! We arrived in Strasbourg on a Viking Cruise but opted for a small group wine tour (Mac 8 people but our group of 6 ended up with a “private” tour). The tour was well organized, communication was excellent, started punctually, visited 2 lovely wineries , and we had a GREAT guide, Carlos! He was knowledgeable, friendly & fun! We enjoyed all aspects of the 4 hr tour & highly recommend Ophorus & Carlos!

A fun and interesting tour of an area we were unfamiliar with. The winemakers that we visited were passionate about their products and history.
Anna_S, Oct 2025
Pauline was wonderful. Very knowledgeable about the area. We visited two wineries, each very different, both fabulous.

We had a wonderful experience on a small group (8) tour led by Jerome. Pickup was easy and prompt in the main plaza in front of the train station, and transportation was in a comfortable Mercedes van.
We visited two tasting rooms - Robert Blank in Obernai, and Fritz Schmitt in Ottrott. The tastings were well-presented, with a range of varietals and flavor profiles. Who would have thought that we would make it through not one but two tasting rooms in Alsace without sampling a Gewurtzraminer!
Our guide Jerome was charming, informative, and energetic. As a sommelier, he had much to offer about the wines and the history of viticulture in the area.
The company works with several producers in the area, visiting different wineries based on the day of the week. Would certainly repeat this tour to these wineries, and absolutely will schedule our next tour to experience different producers.

The wine tasting was amazing and got to see the best views of the villages. The wines in this region is very good and Laurence our guide was very informative. Loved this tour and it was enough time to go to two wineries.

We had such a wonderful time on the Alsace Wine Route Small Group Half-Day Tour! From start to finish, everything was well organized and relaxed, which made it easy to simply enjoy the experience. Our guide was knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about the region, sharing both history and local stories along the way.
Deb_E, Sep 2025
Oliver was a friendly drive/guide. While it is lovely to visit wineries in their villages, it involves a reasonable amount of driving. Of the two wineries we visited, the second was far more interesting and with a more engaging host.
Jeff_L, Sep 2025
Roman was a very good tour guide and knowledgeable about the wines in the region. We visited two wineries; Habsiger and Robert Blanck near Strasbourg. Learned what Cremant wine is and everyone is the group liked it very much. Toured the wine cellars and tasted great wines that represent the Alsace region
William_S, Sep 2025
The first stop was unacceptable. In a woman’s home, at her kitchen table and no tour of a vineyard at all. Same for the second stop, the vineyard rep was snotty and arrogant, and tiny “tastes”. Young gal should not be doing the tasting lead, especially when she was not well versed in the wines. Oliver was basically a driver, not a tour guide. Nice guy, but not for a $220 4 hour tour!

Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback. We’re truly sorry to hear that your experience did not fully meet your expectations.
In Alsace, many wineries are family-run, and tastings often take place in the owner’s home or a small family space, sometimes even in the kitchen. This is part of the authentic, local charm and tradition of the region. To provide variety, the tour also includes a visit to a larger estate, so guests can experience both the intimate family-run style and the bigger, more structured vineyards.
We also appreciate your comments regarding the wine presentation and guiding. Your feedback is very valuable, and we will review these points with our local partners and team to ensure we can improve the experience for future guests.
Kind regards,
Jeanne from the Ophorus Team

This wine tour was a mix of highs and lows. The small group size was perfect, and I loved the wine, the beautiful wineries, and the great views.
But, the tour guide was a bit dull, and the car rides were awkwardly quiet. I also wish there had been more wine included.
Overall, the scenery and drinks were fantastic, but the experience would have been better with a more lively guide and a few more sips of wine.

Carlos was a great and informative guide. The wines were excellent and we learned so much. The wineries can ship wine globally and we were able to take wine with us

Excelelnt tour, well curated with a mixture of vineyards. Jerome was excellent and knowledgable guide.
Great mix of known wines and more unknown varieties.
Anna_N, Jul 2025
We went to 2 vineyards and get to taste a few type of wine in a group of 8 people. Our tourguide Lawrence (I hope I wrote her name right) is very passionate and friendly and always try her best to explained us many questions. It is such great experience especially with her guidance. The vineyards owners are also very lovely. I’m traveling solo and it’s nice to meet and talk other people from other countries

Virpi_J, Jul 2025
Our guide Jerome was very friendly and knowledgeable. We stopped at two wineries to taste the wines and at the same time heard the history of the estate and information about the wines. The scenery crowned the trip.

This small group tour was fantastic. Jerome, our guide, was very informative and considerate. The van was comfortable. We appreciated seeing the 2 small family vineyards and wineries and meeting some of the family members. Wine was excellent, too!
