This is going to a wine store, sitting in the basement, which you could’ve just gone by yourself without signing up. A tasting seating on a table with five different wines that you could just walk in the wine store and taste anyway it’s a mixed group and it’s done in different languages. Make sure you’re only signed up with a group with one language.
I do not recommend this waste of time.
It’s much better if you travel to a Vineyard.

Hello,
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback.
We would like to clarify a few inaccuracies in your review. Access to our cellar ("caveau") is not open to walk-in visitors — it is reserved exclusively for guests who have booked a private tasting. The tastings available upstairs in the shop, without reservation, are self-guided tastings, without the assistance and commentary of a sommelier — unlike the guided tasting you booked, which includes that personalized experience.
Our tastings are conducted in English and in French, in the interest of fairness to all our guests. We would also add that, as we are located in France, we make no apology for offering tastings in French.
Regarding your review, we would note that it does not reflect the experience of the vast majority of our visitors, who, in all honesty, have genuinely enjoyed their visit to the Comptoir des Vignerons.
Finally, please note that the Comptoir does not position itself as a replacement for visiting the Alsatian vineyards, but rather as a complement to that experience within an urban setting.
Thank you again for your visit.
Best regards,

It was informative, fun and delicious! A good variety of wine and cheeses. From bubbly to red 🍷, from strong to mild 🧀.

It was a terrific experience. The person conducting the wine and cheese tasting is very experienced and personable. He explained the origins of the the wine and cheese and showed on a map where the producers were located. Both the wine and cheese were excellent!

Good wine and cheese. Which was always a perfect match. Really experienced sommelier with a lot of knowledge about the wine.

I enjoyed the wine and cheese pairings. It was a wonderful experience talking to people from all over the world. Our host was very personable. His English has a very thick French accent so you have to listen carefully. Also, we ran out of the bread to eat with the cheese and he would not get us more.

Amazing experience with knowledgeable staff. The wine was from independent, family wineries and all so wonderful. Definitely recommend.

This session was advertised to be delivered in English however it was not. Six of the eight participants spoke only French. The Sommelier did provide information in English to my husband and I however, it was clear that we didn't receive all the same information that was delivered in French.
We received a brief talk while the Sommelier's French talk was much more involved and at least twice as long. We have a rudimentary understanding of French and it was clear that the tasting was a French tasting with a little English thrown in.
If you are not fluent in French, do not sign up for this session.

We take your feedback into account, and we are sorry that you felt left out. However, we have a multiple-choice option indicating two languages per time slot. We are transparent on this matter. We regret your misunderstanding—unfortunately, you are the only person among the participants welcomed in recent weeks to make such accusation.

It was the second time we participated in this tasting—this time also with cheese! Once again, very informative and interesting.

Good wines and cheeses, but too many people at the tasting which consequently was a bit pulled away and made in a hurry.
