To book this dive, your last diving should have been in the past 12 months. If it's been longer than that since your last dive, please ask your local dive shop about a refresher course beforehand. We will need information regarding your diving skill level & gear needs to confirm the booking.

You must have a minimum certification of Open Water to join this dive. You will need your certification card at check in.
If you are newly certified and have not been diving since certification, it is recommend you do a refresher dive before joining this dive
Minimum age is 16 years; under 18 years old MUST have parent's signed permission to participate
IMPORTANT NOTE: Please arrive 30 minutes before departure time.
Not recommended for cruise passengers. Ship & shore time vary in the winter months. It's usually hard to make it on time for our 8:30am check in

This was well organized and efficient. We are both relatively new to diving and Georgia (sp?) took the time to explain things too us and give us more advice and instruction between dives to make the second dive even more enjoyable. We did a ship wreck in which we saw many fish and a couple of sharks. Next a reef dive we saw a lot of fish, a large turtle a better view of a reef shark and a beautiful spotted eagle ray. It must have had a 4' - 5' wing span it was majestic. I would do this again, and may before we leave the island. Highly recommend.

Worst dive master (MICKEY) of all time.

First of all, my wife and I have done scuba diving all over the world, with over 100 dives. The dive master Mickey was by far was the worst of them all. He was screaming at us if we don't follow his instructions precisely. We felt like we were being treated like children. We were in a small boat with seven divers. The boat is situated in a way that only one diver can get ready at a time while others has to wait the turn. The sea was fairly rough with 2-4 ft swell on the day is our dive. The boat was getting bounced around a bit. My wife and I entered the water first on the first dive. We were tossed around in the wave for over 15 minutes while waiting for the other diver to get ready. My wife was getting stressed because he yelled her repeatedly to hold on to a small rope that was attached to a life ring. I told him that we can submerge ourselves down to the bottom and wait for the group to avoid the large swell. He yelled "No, you will be wasting air on the tank while waiting for the group and not have enough air to finish the dive". Meanwhile, he continued to tell us to keep our regulator in a mouth and breathe on the surface. I really didn't know what is the different between breathing from the tank on the surface versus breathing under the water. At one point he asked my wife a question. My wife removed her regulator to answer him. He immediately yelled at her to put her regulator back in their mouth. We really don't understand the logic how you ask somebody a questions and expect him or her to answer with the regulator still in their mouth. My wife was so stressed by him and decided to forgo her first dive. I believe Mikey solely made our dive into a miserable experience. I do not recommend using Aqua Mania for your dive excursion because of the inadequate dive boat and a obnoxious Dive Master.

Hello John, Thank you sharing your experience. We feel it's important to provide additional context for other readers. The sea conditions on the day of your dive were typical for the area and well within safe operating limits. Our dive vessel is also the second largest dive boat on Sint Maarten and is specifically designed to provide a safe and comfortable platform for dive operations. Before entering the water, all divers receive a comprehensive safety briefing covering the procedures to follow while waiting for the group to descend. This includes keeping your regulator in your mouth, holding onto the float line to prevent drifting, and not removing your mask in the water. These procedures are in place for everyone's safety, but they were not followed by your party on this day. After entering the water, you made the decision to switch masks with your wife, which was not part of the dive plan and resulted in your wife becoming distressed and beginning to inhale water at the surface when she could not get the mask back on. At that point, our dive master repeatedly instructed her to keep her regulator in place to ensure she was breathing safely from her air supply rather than inhaling seawater. Additionally, the float line was not being held as instructed during the briefing, causing your wife to drift a considerable distance from the boat, requiring our second dive guide to enter the water and assist in bringing her safely back. Our dive team is committed to maintaining high safety standards, and while instructions may sometimes be given firmly during an active situation, they are always intended to protect our guests and ensure everyone's wellbeing.

They did allow my daughter to dive so my husband stayed behind and most likely will not receive a refund.

Our St. Maarten Scuba Diving for Certified Divers adventure requires all participants to be certified divers, and unfortunately, it appears there was a misunderstanding as your daughter was not certified. Our commitment to safety and adherence to regulations means we can only allow certified divers to participate. We understand the disappointment this may have caused when your daughter was not permitted to dive. Booked this tour with aqua mania since ocean explorers said no more diving due to hurricane season. Everyone there is fantastic they really do their best to make the diving enjoyable which it was. Good variety of fish rays eels sharks even lobster. Audrey was great she is a great divemaster. Would recommend them any day!

Denzel and Sandrena were the best. This trip qualifies as one of my best dive trips. We went to a place that was populated with marine life, including sharks.

We had a great day diving with Aqua Mania. It was a short walk from the port. Check in was easy. Brandon set us up with equipment and we waited about 10 minutes for the boat to pick us up. Swami was a great boat captain and the dive instructors were fun. Will be back and will use this company again.
