Follow your guide around the 6,000-square-foot (557-square-meter) distillery during your hands-on tour. Learn about the history of Caribbean rum-making. Get a behind-the-scenes look at the fermentation, distillation, filtering, and blending process for Topper’s rum, and also learn how different flavored rums are created. You may even have the chance to try new flavors in development.
The tour concludes in the tasting bar, where you can try several samples of the many commercial rum products Topper produces, as well as their rhum cake, and shop for souvenirs.

The variety of rhums is incredibly diverse and seeing the manufacturing process gave me a true appreciation of the handmade claim on the label.

Very lovely rum tasting experience! Their rum is unique and I was a little bummed I can't get the limited batches outside the St Maarten island. Traveling to get there was a little challenging but was fine with taxi from Phillipsburg. Don't stay to late as traffic going back to Phillipsburg is a nightmare

We did the Toppers Rum Tour and Teresa was a vibe , she was engaging and entertaining and we learned a lot without feeling like being in school on vacation. They didn't have the flavor we wanted in stock after our tour but we stopped by before heading back home to get gelato and Teresa remembered us and sold us the flavor we had wanted. A must do experience in St. Marteen.

What a wonderful experience we had enjoying homemade "Rhum" at Toppers!! The atmosphere was enjoyable and the added benefi t of the culinary experience truly "topped" it off. Afterward we enjoyed appetizers and drinks in the "light house" bar and got to meet Mr. Topper himself, the owner and proprietor.

This was really just a sales pitch for a retail store specializing in flavored rums. Very little said about how rum is made. Most of time spent tasting various blends. Ahead of time, no mention that we had to take a long taxi ride to get to tour. Round trip cost of taxi for 2 was $50. And store was overcrowded the whole time we were there. Bummer!

Cristina and Cindy were very fun and kind. Very knowledgeable about the history of Topper’s Rhum. We really enjoyed the tour and loved that it was interactive and they allowed us to be apart of the experience. The rhum was delicious as well!

The tour guide was incredibly knowledgeable and engaging . She included everyone in the tour. The food is literally a sample so don’t expect much. We went to eat afterwards at the restaurant part and food was delicious especially the rum cake. Overall definitely worth it.

Lots of fun learning about the ‘behind-the-scenes’ bottling and cooking with rhum. The samples were delicious and Cristina was very informative. Would definitely recommend.

Topper’s Rum Distillery was such a fun and informative experience! The tour was very detailed, and the guide did an amazing job explaining how the rum is made, the different flavors, and how to properly pair them.
There is definitely a lot of rum involved, so I highly recommend eating something solid beforehand! We paired the rum with gelato, which was delicious, and the rum cake—absolutely superb. We also tried it with pineapple chicken, and that combination was surprisingly really good.
Overall, this is a great activity if you’re looking to learn something new while also having a good time and getting a little tipsy. I highly recommend adding this to your list when visiting!

This tour was really fun & interesting - a good mix of historical info, tastings, and a couple of rum infused foods. Cristina was energetic, funny and engaging and gave a great presentation of the origins of rum and how it is made. The cooking demonstration using rum was also really good. Overall, well worth the time and money - especially if you are staying in the Simpson Bay area.

Toppers Tour 10/10 recommend. Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable about the History of Toppers and its flavors, and she was very animated, fun, and charismatic. My son and I enjoyed it very much. If your visiting St Maarten definitely incorporate it on your itinerary you won’t regret it.

Rum tasting at a small distillery. We did see the bottling (very small production room), but mainly tasted, learned a little about cooking with flavored rum. There’s a restaurant on site where you can eat, but it’s mainly a store with a few rooms for tasting and rum production. Another group had a multi-stop tour, including lunch and beach visit. We took a taxi from the cruise port and really wasn’t worth the can fare. Not much nearby that looked interesting to do.

It was a great experience and what made it even better it was literally across the street from where I was staying. We got to sample about 27 different rum flavors, gelato, and different snacks. Overall I would definitely recommend!

Fun tour with Sasha with lots of tasting opportunities. Learned about the history and process behind rum, saw a demo of the bottling process, and tasted around 20 different flavors of rum plus rum cake, chicken cooked with rum, and two rum-infused gelatos.
