Beautiful views and worth your time!

Experience was exactly as described. While it is not a guided tour and is more of a bus ride to and from the fortress, it was definitely worth it! Beautiful views at the top and plenty of time to explore!

A quick escape to history

It was not a full day tour, a quick tour which covers everything and also you have your free time. Sunset and city views are amazing, also our guide showed us some game of thrones easter eggs, which made if fun

Pretty view at sunset

Whilst we enjoyed visiting the Fortress, my friend and I felt the tour could have been improved with more information on the Fortress, better communication from the guides and more time at the Fortress. The bus was late to pick us up and we had to walk round the corner to meet the bus. Perhaps if this hadn't have happened we would have had enough time. It was nice to visit at that time of day however as it was quieter at the Fortress. Note that the sunset is behind the mountains and so you can't see the actual sunset, however it is a very pretty view.

Worth it only so we didn't have to work out public transport.

This short tour meant we didn't need to have to work out our own transport from Split, making it worth it for that reason alone. We had enough time to look around the fortress however our 'guide' was really just an escort taking us to the gate. She gave us no information, didn't show us around or tell us anything and didn't even suggest a good spot to see the sunset (although on the day of the trip it was quite cloudy so there wasn't actually much to see).

Do it for the sunsets, views and the bus ride

The open bus tour to Klis Fortress offered stunning views and plenty of time to walk around and enjoy the sunset. However, the guide didn’t say a word throughout the trip, leaving us without any insights about the fortress’s history or significance. We were giving ear plugs for audio guide but the audio was poor! While the scenery and sunsets from the fortress are beautiful, we wish we got some commentary to enrich the experience. Pro tip: do it for the bus ride; could be cheaper than an Uber round trip!

Kliss was great. No activities in the evening compare to the day visits. Would have love to hear a bit more of Game of Thrones - how they got the staff up there and the building of the set at Kliss.

The fortress was dirty, there were lots of cigarettes on the floor, empty bottles, plastic and garbage. The personal wasn't very welcoming. No smile, no salutations.

Great views

Views were great, and it’s a little bit of fun if you are a game of thrones fan but this was a bus ride to the location and not a tour a such. Understand you can get public transport to this location, so if you are confident enough or have a car you can get there this way and then do things at your own pace.

Very little free time to see the fort

The fortress itself is stunning, and seeing it in the evening was quiet and beautiful. However, the tour description is misleading. You get very little free time to explore the fortress as the guide gives a lengthy and, in our opinion, repetitive history lesson. We ended up with 15 minutes of free time to explore and there were plenty of nooks and crannies we did not get to see. There was no additional time at the end for photos as stated on the tour description and we found the meeting details unclear as there was no mention of which company actually ran the tour.

Our guide Lukas provided an outstanding tour, covering everything from must-see spots on nearby islands to the sea routes connecting Split with neighboring countries, and even delving into the fascinating history of Croatia and the Klis fortress. Although the tour allows only 20 minutes for us to explore the fortress by ourselves, the breathtaking scenic views are well worth it. An evening tour also offers a welcome escape from the sweltering summer heat during the day. Highly recommended.

Great views but rushed

Location for pick up was easy to find and central, and the fort itself was great to go and see. The fort offered stunning views of Split and the coastline, especially at sunset. We also had beautiful weather and the sunset was really pretty. Sadly the rest of the tour wasn't to expectation. The bus ride up was in silence which was a shame not to talk about where where we were, about the fort or anything at all. The trip was also meant to start at 6pm, this changed to 6:30pm - I am not sure why, but we had to pick up people from a wine tour so maybe this is why - the result was a very quick tour around the fort and missing most of the sunset at golden hour. After being marched round the fort, at quite a pace over uneven floors, steep climbs and stairs, we felt completely rushed. If we fell behind, the guide started talking without us and honestly it made me incredibly uncomfortable. We were given the option to explore on our own, but we booked this tour to learn more about the fort, so opted to stay with the group. When we finished listening, we had a total of 7 minutes to see the sunset and get back to the front - the front was at least a 5 minute walk away - it was an unpleasent experience to feel rushed to see the sunset, which the reason why we booked to go for sunset specifically. It was disappointing overall, and I feel if the original timings were kept, the additional 30 minutes would have made a world of difference.

Unfortunately no sunset due to bad weather but still amazing views over split, was nice all lit up. Fortress was really cool. I enjoyed it.

Beautiful area. Lots of steps to climb. The sunset was beautiful. Great panorama views. There was an audio plug in on the way that was not very interesting. The tour guide said nothing on the way there or back. He was very nice but spoke way too fast. My friend who has a hearing problem hardly understood him.

Touring the dramatic fortress above Split

Worthwhile trip up to this dramatic fortress. The guide provided good historical perspective. Depending on time of year, the sun will set behind a ridge rather than into the sea, as we noted, but it was still a nice activity.
