modest walking, bring light rain gear “just in case”. Museums will require their own dedicated time. Frane was a great guide for the Emperor’s retirement home, and Karen did a super job for Trogir. Split portion was a straight-through walk, Trogir had 60-90 minutes of chill time after the guided portion. A six hour, very worthwhile introduction to this part of Dalmatia!

Great day trip to Split and Trogir... The guide was very interesting and funny... Free time in Trogir after sightseeing, ideal for coffee and enjoying the sun...

The group was small, which made the experience more relaxed and enjoyable. Our guide spoke excellent English and shared interesting information throughout the tour.
Everything was very well organized - from the beautiful cities and the tour itself to the transportation. Highly recommended.

Viator did not respond to my request to cancel/reschedule, so we arrived at the scheduled meeting time for the tour. Unfortunately, the tour operator did not show up and there was also no response to my multiple attempts to contact the tour operator by email and phone at the meaning time. When I requested a refund, they refused to provide it. Clearly a poor customer experience.
Response from Host, Apr 2026
Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that your experience did not meet expectations.
However, we would like to clarify a few important details. Your booking with us was confirmed, and the tour operated as scheduled on the day.
We did not receive any cancellation or rescheduling request from you prior to the tour. As you later informed us, you were unable to attend due to personal circumstances involving your daughter, and unfortunately did not arrive at the meeting point.
Despite this, and as a gesture of goodwill, a refund was approved for your booking.
We always strive to be available to our guests and ensure clear communication, and we regret any misunderstanding that may have occurred.

Response from Host, Apr 2026
Thank you for your feedback.
We would like to clarify that the tour was rescheduled in advance and all guests were notified through the Viator system. As you mentioned, the notification was unfortunately not seen prior to your arrival.
Since the updated time did not suit your schedule, a full refund was issued.
We always do our best to communicate any changes as clearly and promptly as possible, and we’re sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.

This was even better than we had posed for. The tour group was broken into two smaller groups - each with only 9 people. Frane was not only very knowledgeable and easy to understand (strong voice in English), but was able to add insightful, personal Croatian perspectives and opinions that added a lot to the tour. Adding Trogir to the Split itinerary was a big plus - fascinating history of this now very upscale, photogenic, and historic island town. Diocletian Palace was very cool and we happy to witness a high-energy, joyous wedding celebration in front of a church within the palace walls. This was a terrific tour, well worth it.

Our guide, Antoinette, I believe,, was outstanding. Not only is she extremely knowledgeable about Croatian history, she is passionate about her country one it’s history.
The tour of split and the former palace and the trip to Trogir were one of the highlights of our trip
Sunny_P, Oct 2025
Our guide Antonia was absolutely amazing! She provided the most comprehensive and insightful guidance, and you can truly feel how much she loves her city. Her passion and knowledge brought Split to life in a way that made the experience unforgettable.
Antonia went above and beyond to make sure we had a perfect day — from sharing local stories to recommending hidden gems. Thanks to her, I’ve completely fallen in love with Split and can’t wait to come back again.
Highly, highly recommend Antonia! She’s the kind of guide who makes you see a city through the eyes of someone who genuinely cares.

Fun informative time well spent! We learned a lot about the country and its history. Antonia is smart, funny and well informed. Her love of country shines through. Highly recommend.

Boats were new and exceptional. Each stop provided a different opportunity to learn about the area or see something beautiful. Great experience for the cost. A true value.
Marcia_M, Oct 2025
There is a lot of walking , but it is worth seeing all the sites. Small van ride to Trigor was well planned and the van will take you back to cruise port or back to the Golden Gate. Our tour guide was excellent as was the van drivers. Highly recommend this tour.

This was truly one of the best tours I've ever done. Ivana was a fount of fascinating information, but it was her energy and enthusiasm that brought everything to life. We especially appreciated the way she drew our attention to details that showed how the palace had been transformed over 1700 years. We'd walked around for a bit before the tour, but during the tour, we came to understand what we had been seeing.
Paul_S, Oct 2025
Plenty of walking but not up hill. Don't forget your camera. Trogir very pretty. Mixed history of the Dalmatian coast. Enjoy.
Kerry_L, Oct 2025
Loads of information about the Diocletian Palace and Trogir. I really enjoyed Trogir and would have loved to have more time to explore. Ivana was a great tour guide and was very knowledgeable.
Beth_P, Oct 2025

Lynn_R, Sep 2025
Mia was an amazing guide, very knowledgeable and did everything she could to ensure you had a good time. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t good in Trogir but again Mia found some shelter to continue her talks. Would definitely recommend and thank you Mia you’re a star!

Austin_S, Sep 2025
The tour of the palace was great. Ante our host was very knowledgeable about everything along the way. It was a ton of fun learning about the history of Split. We took the full day trip and went over to Trogir which was a cool experience as well. It was very small and the tour was much shorter of that area but we enjoyed it. Thanks Ante! you were a great host
Susan_S, Aug 2025
Well worth it. Ivana was passionate about her home town, very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Both towns are definitely worth seeing. Highly recommend.
Yolanda_K, Aug 2025
Great tour! Tour guide was so knowledgeable. Highly recommended this tour. Transportation was excellent. Love the small group experience
Ann_H, Aug 2025
It was a great experience. Ante, our guide was very knowledgeable, considerate, and fun. I would caution if you are elderly and/or have trouble walking, it may be a bit much for you. The couple on our tour were having such a great time that they powered through, but were very tired out at the end. If you can get around easily, I would highly recommend the trip. Ask for Ante. He was amazing!
Henry_P, Jul 2025
Antonia was an excellent guide. She was exceptionally knowledgeable of the history and architecture of both Split and Trogir.
Aron_S, Jul 2025

Richard_W, Jul 2025
We had a very special tour with Mia. She is so knowledgeable and presents the tour with great storytelling. Very accommodating for us. I would highly recommend this tour with Mis.
Thank You
