I had a fantastic experience on this small group tour from Split to Dubrovnik. Our driver, Ivan, was excellent — informative, engaging, and professional. As we drove, he pointed out landmarks like the Klis medieval fortress, Skywalk Biokovo, and the roadside farm stalls bursting with fresh fruits, vegetables, and juices.
We had a brief but enjoyable stop in Ston, famous for its oysters and impressive stone wall. I managed to try fresh oysters at a local restaurant — a real treat!
In Dubrovnik, Ivan introduced our group (7 of us) to Niko, our walking tour guide. Niko was knowledgeable and shared fascinating insights into the city's rich history, architecture, and fortifications. The Old Town was stunning, though quite crowded and pricey when it came to food and drinks.
Ivan was punctual, attentive, and made sure we were all comfortable and safe throughout the day. I really enjoyed this tour and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a well-organized and informative day trip from Split!

Despite the tour operator confirming the tour at 1300 the day before, they sent a WhatsApp message 1630 the day before the tour stating that it was cancelled due to other guests asking to move to a different date. This happened despite the terms and conditions stating clearly that no changes were permitted within 24 hours of departure. We were unable to move to an alternative date as we had booked for last full day of our holiday in Split. Due to the very late notice we were unable to switch to an alternative provider. Operator provided no options other than refund (which was processed quickly).
Response from Host, Oct 2025
Dear Paula,
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We are very sorry for the disappointment caused by the cancellation of your tour. Unfortunately, sometimes guests decide to cancel or move their booking at the very last minute, and as a result the minimum number of participants required to operate the tour is no longer met. This is something we cannot predict in advance, and in this case it unfortunately affected your confirmed tour.
While we were able to process your refund quickly, we completely understand that this doesn’t replace the lost experience. Please know we are working on improving how we handle these situations so that we can provide more options and clearer communication.
We truly hope to welcome you back on another occasion and give you the full experience you were looking forward to this time.
Thank you
Kind regards

Ivan was the Best driver and made it fun ! Although it was a long road trip it was worth seeing, however he was 100% correct in that there is not enough time in Ston!

Ivan was a very good driver - even used his turn signals when no one was around!
Very funny and good communication.
Added in a stop for sunset at a winery on drive back to Split. We needed out of the car so we were thankful. 🥰
Helene, our tour guide in Dubrovnik was very , friendly, and gave us great tips and suggestions!
Thank you both!!

Great tour if you are short on time and HAVE to see Dubrovnik like we did. It was fabulous, even though it was as very busy. Ivan drove us there lickety split (pun intended), with a stop in Ston. Ston was OK. We visited the wall (about halfway) and the fortress as well. I would have preferred the hour in Ston to have been an extra hour in Dubrovnik! [Thank you for getting us there and back safely, Ivan 🙂]
We met our guide, Michael, upon our arrival in Dubrovnik. He did an amazing job getting us through the crowds and bringing us up to speed on the history of Dubrovnik (fascinating!), especially with the limited time he had with us (1hr). He also recommended places for us to visit based on our interests, as well as places to eat based on our budget and time. Overall this is a wonderful tour if you want to see Dubrovnik while you’re Croatia; I just wish we had that hour in Ston dedicated to Dubrovnik instead!
Tatyana_K, Aug 2024
Driver-tour guide and Dubrovnik tour guide both very good. Selected stops excellent choices. Use of tour rather than self-drive were the right choice given length of drive and traffic getting into Dubrovnik.
Alejandra_D, Aug 2024
Very good driver Ivan, he very kind person, and Silvia our tourist guide kindly person and she answer all the question for us and she gave us enough information about Dubrovnik old town.

Fantastic arrangement, comfortable transfer - I was able to take a nap despite the long hours ride! Driver name I forgot, John or Ivan? The guide we met was articulate and provided a lot of historical information.
Mary_M, Sep 2023
Day before tour, we received message that we were the only ones registered and it was cancelled - Dubrovnik was one of the places that we really wanted to see when we were in Croatia
Response from Host, Sep 2023
Dear Mary,
We apologize for the inconvenience caused by your inability to see Dubrovnik. Unfortunately, you were the only guest who booked the group tour on that day. Although we offered you an alternative day, you chose to cancel, and we have refunded you in full. As you did not participate in the tour, the review you left is irrelevant. We hope that you have a wonderful time exploring Croatia.
Sincerely,
Ivana

Tony, our driver, was awesome. I really enjoyed learning about tge area from him. Also, in the (tiny) town itself, Sylvia was very helpful.
Dubrovnik is a must-see if you are interested in history.
Like anything not built recently, it does not have a lot of wheelchair or baby stroller access. For the like of me, I don't know why anyone would wheel a stroller around with a baby there. I felt sorry for those overheated, tired babies and toddlers.
Response from Host, Jul 2023
Dear Mrs Amanda,
Thank you very much for your kind review, we are very happy that you enjoyed our tour to Dubrovnik.
Hope to see you again!

Stopping at the service area for a glass of wine and a fabulous view
This is a long trip but I have to. say the driver Antonio was. brilliant. He was prompt and helpful and worked hard to keep us on time despite the traffic.
The guide was very pleasant but I did not feel I learned much about the history of the place. It was more focussed on the best viewpoints for photos or the best place to eat and how much it cost to get into the sights (an awful lot! How can they justify 36 euros to climb up onto the walls and walk along them I don't know) The time we had there made that impossible anyway. The guided tour felt rushed and it is probably too much for a day trip
Response from Host, Jul 2023
Dear Remo,
We are glad you like the setting and Antonio is happy to hear that he was brilliant :)
Dubrovnik is not so close to Split and unfortunately, we can not stay longer in Dubrovnik as the tour is already long. The tour is set to see everything that is important and also to give you a bit of free time to explore on your own.
The walls in Dubrovnik are expensive and they are not a part of our tour, and we rather recommend our guests to have a nice lunch after the walking tour or just to enjoy and walk around then to climb up the walls.
We hope to see you again.
josephine_g, Jun 2023
Loved Dubrovnik. Enjoyed walking the wall around old town. Matt provided us with a good overview of the old town and its history. The only reason for four stars was the long drive made our time in Dubrovnik short.
Response from Host, Jul 2023
Thank you very much for your nice review!
We are happy to hear you enjoyed the tour, unfortunately, Dubrovnik is a bit far and we stay as long as possible in Dubrovnik. We hope to see you again!
Annette_F, May 2023
We requested a pick up as one was offered but were told that we were only 3 minutes away from the meeting point so we walked only to find that although we were so close to the meeting point we actually had to walk in excess of 1 kilometre to the 'bus'. The bus turned out to be a mini van which had almost blacked out windows and VERY little room. We decided not to go.
Response from Host, May 2023
Dear Anette,
We are understanding your anger, but unfortunately the Bus is not able to go inside the old town which is under UNESCO protection and we can’t come with the Bus to the agencies door. The Bus was few hundred meters at the Parking spot and you didn’t walk 1 km. Second concern is that you booked a small group tour to Dubrovnik and you had 18seat new Mercedes Sprinter as a Coach and you didn’t want to go inside the bus because apparently it was to small ( but you booked a small group tour to Dubrovnik). We are sorry you didn’t go as for sure you would enjoy the tour. We don’t think is appropriate to give a 1 star review for something you didn’t even go to. We would suggest next time to read descriptions of the tour and to see location where you are before you book the tour. I hope you enjoyed rest of your stay in Croatia. Kind regards, Sandra
Chantal_T, May 2023
Dubrovnik was worth visiting! The poor review was due to guide in the city being too fast, did not wait for all people to join prior starting explanation and we could not hear the guide adequately due to surrounding noise.
Response from Host, May 2023
Dear Chantal Teixeira Rosa,
We are sorry you couldn't hear the guide due to surrounding noise. We will definitely talk to the guide and see how we can avoid the crowd (thought it is a bit difficult as Dubrovnik is crazy busy during the season) but definitely we will find a solution to make our guest happy.
Kind regards,
Sandra

Excellent trip to Dubrovnik, our driver was outstanding and the stops on the trip were very interesting. Great experiencw
Gillian_C, Jun 2022
The guide was half an hour late and then out introducing herself just turned and walked to the bus which was an air conditioned van with seats rammed too close together to fit your knees in even before people in front put their seats into reclining. The guide continued her silence so she didn’t learn our names or vice versa or even anything about the journey… how long or if there was a loo stop. We were dropped off way above the town… no reason given and had to walk down many steps… over 10 mins during which one lady fell trying to keep up with the guide who was still unaware of this when we reached the bottom. The we were the only English speaking couple for English speaking guided tour of Dubrovnik which was clearly not what the German, Spanish and Dutch group expected and they really did not have English as a second language. I explained that there was no way we could go back up all their steps to the bus at the end of the day and our tour guide just said there was no choice and didn’t give a reason. We found out for ourselves that the number 8 bust would take us there so bought our own tickets and organised to meet them at the top just in time to see a member of our group fall over again walking up. Another member of the group felt I’ll when she reached the top of the steps and couldn’t make the next bit of the journey and had to be collected. There was no water on the bus which she needed when she got there. Our guide then walked us a busy 4 lane road with drivers shouting at us that we were mad and that didn’t we know there was an underpass to reach the van parked on the other side. All the while our guide has still said nothing to any of us or even given us her name which we asked for. We called into South Tours on our return to Split at 21.00 where we had found the staff at the office most helpful at all times and apparently the guide was new but didn’t even seem to try to a job. The bus was also too cramped for such a long journey.
Response from Host, Jun 2022
Dear Gillian,
We are sorry you did not enjoy the city walking tour of Dubrovnik. Unfortunately, we can't do much about the heat and parking as this is the stop where all tourist groups stop. Dubrovnik has a lot of steps and only local buses can stop outside the walls of Dubrovnik. We hope you enjoy the rest of your holiday in Croatia. Kind Regards,
South tours

While this trip was amazing on its own for its access to a multitude of activities and information from a guide inside the old walls of Dubrovnik, the road to the city was also memorable thanks to our dynamic guide Mile. The guide was entertaining and gave a lot of information concerning important aspects of the country as well as explanations to our questions. We truly recommend this experience as the price was also very affordable considering what was offered to us that day!
Dawn_B, Jun 2022
Excellent trip. Lovely friendly and informative staff. Relaxing and comfortable journey with plenty of stops on the way. A must do activity 👍
Gio_B, Jun 2022
Terrible tour. Clueless guide with us in the, hot small crowded van. One stop in the 4-hour drive in a small Cafe in Bosnia with the rudest people on earth. Left us far from the city gate to avoid paying fee to drop us off, had to walk up and down stairs for about a mile to get there in the hot sun. Handed us off to someone to guide us to the city gate, then handed us off to someone else to guide us in the city (she was ok). Trip back was not better, except no stops in the 4-hour plus trip
Response from Host, Jun 2022
Dear Gio, We are sorry you did not enjoy the tour. As we already try to explain to you, you booked a small group tour and there were another 14 guests with you on the tour who enjoyed and liked the tour. Dubrovnik is a UNESCO town and unfortunately, we can't drive you directly inside the old town as there are no cars inside the walls of Dubrovnik, the group has been dropped off exactly at the same place where all tour buses stop, also, there is nothing we can do about the stairs as this is Dubrovnik with loth of narrow cute streets, a lot of stairs and you booked a guided Dubrovnik city tour. There was an option for a private tour and I would suggest you for the next time to choose this option as you can manage your own free time and breaks and sights you prefer, like this on group tour we have to look for all guests needs and to do the tour as described. We wish you a pleasant stay in Croatia and we hope you enjoy the rest of your holiday! Kind Regards ST

Our Driver, “Harry,” was so professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. His recommendations were spot on for sight seeing and budget-friendly eateries. Our day ended with an amazing view of the city. What a treat! Thanks Harry.

Dear Raymo,
We are very glad that you enjoyed the trip. Hope to see you and hear from you in the future.

Gostei bastante

Response from Host, Aug 2022
Dear Guest, we appreciate your comment. The Van suddenly stopped and we did our best to organise a minibus as soon as possible and it took all together 35min for the new bus to pick you up together with your driver. We do have insurance as we are a travel agency and things like this can happen and we apologise to you and gave you a refund of 20 EUR each and also offered a free city tour. This happened on the way back, you came from Split to Dubrovnik, you had a city tour in Dubrovnik with the local guide and everything was good with the Van and suddenly on the way back it stopped. Also, you had a Spanish-speaking driver and an escort which you did not book. Another driver couldn't come back because there was no space in the Van that was full of other guests, that's why we organised another bus just for you. It was not pleasant how you screamed at our employee in the agency after you came back and other gusts apologised for you and did not feel comfortable about it. We wish you all the best and hope you have a nice time in Croatia. Kind Regards,
ST
