Great time! A simple tour but so much to see and history to be told. The Diocletian Palace is an amazing hub of Croatia/Split's old-world history. Every turn of the corner is another facet of history and it's remarkable to see in person and contemplate the centuries of history you're witnessing firsthand. Our guide was super informative and personable, making the tour even better. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a cultural history lesson that doesn't drag on too long.

It was very easy to book with clear instructions on where to meet the tour guide.
Our guide Mia is a native of Split & was both knowledgeable, easy to understand & even gave us some tips on eateries etc. We really appreciated the small group tour as it was very busy in Split (September). Once again Viator has been a great experience.

Ante was a fantastic tour guide. Born and lived all his life he gives a great insight of the history of Split and it's part in Croatian history. We actually got a lot more information that expected, due to his extensive knowledge. Thank you Ante!

This tour was the absolute highlight of our time in Split! Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable, passionate, and engaging—bringing the rich history of Diocletian’s Palace to life with stories, legends, and fun facts we never would have discovered on our own. Walking through the ancient stone streets, we felt like we were stepping back in time. The pace was perfect, and the group size allowed for easy interaction and questions. We appreciated the thoughtful mix of historical insight and cultural context, from Roman architecture to Game of Thrones trivia. Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Split—whether you're a history buff or just curious. Truly unforgettable!

The tour guide was lovely and quite knowledgeable, but whoever set it up overbooked, we had a very large crowd. The guides had to split into two still large groups, so it was not the experience that I was anticipating.

We were very impressed with our tour guide, Ivan! He was very knowledgeable about the history of Split. We learned so much from him, and he had a great sense of humor.

Our guide was a wealth of information including providing a good overview of Split’s succession of rulers and an explanation of its status as a living museum. Learning about Diocletian was a highlight.
His practical recommendations for other activities in Split were helpful for the rest of our stay.

Slavik was great! My wife and I had his total experience as he led us through the history and details of Diocletians Palace. We really enjoyed this!

Due to a bank holiday, the tour changed from 13.00 to 11.30 & the company messaged with notice & due to arriving that morning made allowance if we couldn’t make it to give a refund. Jakov was knowledgable, passionate & interesting. Really enjoyed the history of split & would highly recommend to do as the first thing before anything else. Really enjoyed this walking tour, well worth the money.

A great way to visit Diocletian Palace. The tour guide points out all the hidden attractions. Our tour guide was funny and knowledgeable.

Slacks our guide made the tour a very interesting and fun one. Truly a fab guide who knows his stuff and loves his job. Would definately recommend this trip when visiting Split. We took the 6pm tour. Excellent value for money too.

Our guide, Antonia, was fun and her knowledge of the history is impressive. She gave us great recommendations for restaurants at the end of the trip as well- which we followed through on and were not disappointed.

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Tino. He was very knowledgeable and was great at interacting with us. My children are 10 and 13 and both thought the tour was great!

Just the right length of time and your guide gave comprehensive and interesting information. Nice small group size

We had a young guide — Tino. He was excellent. He was very organized with multiple stops pre planned. An outstanding attribute of Tino was limiting his comments at each stop to about 5-10 min max. He was attentive to questions, kept the group together in a very crowded place, and entertained with short stories at each stop.
He planned one stop to listen a quartet sing a traditional Croatian harmony in a rotunda the Roman governor used as an entrance to a public square. Amazing!

Ivan was a great tour guide! Very lively, funny, and informative. The palace was amazing to see and here about.
irene_g, Sep 2023
My guide was very factual and informed but her presentation was somewhat dry. I decided to cut out early.
Jane_B, Aug 2023
Had a very nice guide, who was also funny and was very informative about the historie of the palace, and gave informasjon on what’s important. After the tour I had learned alot about the palace og also seen important places.
Ps! Getting inside churhes and museums is not included.

Our walking tour was excellent!! Karla was knowledgeable, funny and engaging and had loads of interesting facts to share. Meeting spot was easy to find, and in the dead of August Karla made sure to find shady spots for the group. This is a great way to kick off any trip to Split and shouldn’t be missed!

Slavko was our guide and was waiting for us in the agreed place (just on the outside of the city gate, below the statue).
The tour itself took us to key points around the city, gave a historical view of Croatia and Spilt, with a personal touch from our guide.
Have been on many walking tours before, this was up there as one of my favourite guides and tours
Natalia_D, Jul 2023
Our tour guide Nina was very knowledgeable and we enjoyed our tour even so it was very hot that day.
Annabelle_V, Jun 2023
The absolute best walking tour we have ever taken and so incredibly inexpensive! Our guide was filled with so much knowledge and shared the passion for her city with us. Our group could not believe the quality we were getting for under $20 a person!! Dont wait, book this tour!!!
Judith_G, Jun 2023
The best part of our tour was our exceptional guide. Maria was very knowledgeable, funny, gracious, and entertaining. The tour covered all the essentials in the right amount of time. Even the persistent rain did not detract from the tour.
Brittany_M, Jun 2023
Our tour guide was knowledgeable and friendly. Our small group tour allowed us to move quickly through the Palace and ask questions. Wonderful way to start our stay in Split!
