Fantastic experience with excellent teachers. Very small classes so lots of individual attention. We made ravioli, aubergine parmigiana, caprese salad and a dessert which we ate with a bottle of wine followed by limoncello. Lots of laughs and lovely atmosphere. Perfect day out and highlight of our holiday.

    Good experience & meeting people

    Beverley_L, May 2024
Had the opportunity to get to know new people & learn new things. It was a great experience & I loved it. They learnt us many things & we had so much fun.

    Bella pasta

Met some great people. Made some wonderful food. Great memories. When we get home we are going to have a pasta party and show our family what we have learned.

Fun time, not really a lesson.

    Dina_E, Aug 2023
Confusing, from pick up to drop off there was very little organization. There were a number of classes and we were seated together the. Separated after getting to know one another. Finally we began cooking, sadly, most of it was only assembly no real cooking. We did make pasta for ravioli, I just don’t feel like any of us actually learned anything new. It was fun, but not a class to actually learn to cook.

    Terrible, not worth jt

We were picked up at 5:30, but didn’t start cooking until 6:45. I had to sit on a bucket next to the driver because there were no seats. We were waiting with just water until we met up with our “cooking class” instead of the pizza making class. We made eggplant rollatoni that tasted terrible (and I love eggplant!); it was precooked eggplant and all we did was roll it up with pre cut mozzarella and premade sauce. Then we made homemade cheese ravioli. The instructions were incredibly unclear and the guide was frantic and unhelpful. We didn’t learn one thing. If you cook at all, this isn’t for you. Finally, they served us our plates where we had to awkwardly bring them to the table before washing our dirty hands from cooking. We ate the mediocre raviolis and had to ask for wine. Then, after we were done the cold eggplants came out. Again, these tasted terrible. Finally they served us premade tiramisu in plastic cups before we had to wait for almost an hour for our transfer back. my suggestion is to spend the money on a nice dinner and watch a YouTube cooking class at home; better price and better taste… and maybe you might learn something!

    Great Family Fun

Family-Run Cooking Class in Sorrento - Lovely!

    Carrie_M, Jul 2022
We would ihghly recommend this! We take a cooking class almost everywhere we go. We love to learn about a new country or region by learning how to cook local fare. This cooking class was SO FUN. We learned to make an appetizer version of Eggplant Parmesan, we architected the perfect Caprese Salad, and we learned how to make ravioli pasta. The food was pretty good, but we wish we could have learned how to make the Ravioli filling and the tiramisu dessert (which we ate but had been pre-pmade). We loved that it was clearly a family-run business: the wine is labelled for the family's restaurant, the woman running the class was assisted by her eldest son and her infant babbled / napped quietly in the kitchen. We learned a lot and we will definitely try to replicate the recipes at home. It was also great that the school provided a driver to pick us up and drop us off back at our hotel. We attended the cooking class as three adults, two teenagers, and my 7-year-old niece. Everyone had a great time. There are a few things I would change about this class: for almost $100 per person, we wish the class was smaller. Our class had 20+ people, which meant the instructor was running around trying to help everyone and no one got a lot of "one on one" time with the teacher. Additionally, this meant that cooking all of our raviolis took over an hour, so some people were done eating before many of us had even cooked our pasta. Additionally, because the class was so large, some items were pre-made in order to "get done" within the allotted time: the fried eggplant was just there waiting for us and I would have loved to learn how to prepare that, the ravioli cheese filling was pre-made and so we don't even know what ingredients go into that, and the tiramisu was pre-made. All of these little details made for a less personal, less in-depth cooking class. Finally, we were unable to communicate with the class provider on Viator's website and this was really frustrating. One member of our party was in a wheelchair and we cancelled his portion of the reservation because no one ever responded to our questions about accessibility. It turns out that this venue only has a couple of small stairs and we totally could have accommodated the wheelchair-bound member of our family, but because no one ever responded to us, we were forced to make the call to leave him at the hotel as not to potentially waste $100 if he couldn't' get into the building. It's so sad that he missed out on this really fun, unique cooking experience.

    Great experience and good instructors!

It was great experience for me and my family. Instructors were helpful and learned a lot about both pasta making. Thank you!

    Ravioli of fun!

The class was so much fun. Step by step instructions, and very tasty. Best cooking class I have ever taken, besides my pizza class at the same place. Can’t wait to make my one ravioli at home.

Great experience, wonderful way to spend a rainy morning

    Julie_S, Jun 2022
We booked this last-minute when we realized we'd have a rainy day in Sorrento. It was great! It was so fun to cook some of these classics. Our host (I think her name was Maria?) was great, walked us through making all the items listed in the sample menu. We got to drink wine and learn a thing or two. I have never used a pasta press before - that was a highlight! Two things - we didn't actually make tiramisu, we were just given some at the end. I didn't mind since I was kind of tired/full and ready to relax. Also, our driver was 20 minutes late to pick us up. I got super nervous that we were missed and wouldn't make the activity. But the group waited for us and other people were also late to arrive. Other than that - it was great!

    Excellent Cooking Class

Our family of four (two teenagers) had a great time. The food was excellent and we learned a lot. Highly recommend.

    Very bad

You cancelled our tour by not picking us up at the designated hotel. We are expecting a full refund. Our tour was booked with specific instructions that we were charged extra for and you changed the plans less than 18 hours before departure. Please issue refund immediately.

    Cooking class was wonderful!

    Patricia_Y, May 2022
This cooking experience was FANTASTIC! The hosts, Luigi and Maria, created a welcoming fun atmosphere. We made eggplant rollatini, and my favorite part was making ravioli from scratch. We made the dough and used the pasta press to create the sheets and made cheese filling for the Ravioli. We drank, wine and lemoncello and chatted with all the participants. Luigi and Maria were eager to share their passion for cooking and we enjoyed every minute. Would highly recommend!

    Great class!

We enjoyed the class very much. The recipes were simple and there was lots of help. The food was delicious! And the pick-up and return at our hotel was an added bonus!!

Great outing with wonderful hosts. Luigi and Laura were fantastic from pickup to drop off. I would return to Sorrento just to do this class again. Only regret was my wife was ill and could not partake of this wonderful experience.

What a wonderful experience Cooking in someone's home after picking fresh produce from their gardens nearby. Cheeros did the demonstration and got us involved whilst his cousin Carlos helped with the translation. Then sat down with the family to get the delicious food. Thoroughly recommend.

My husband and I took the Sorrento Cooking Class with Lino and Maria and it was one of the highlights of our visit to Sorrento. Lino picked us up at our hotel and drove us to his family property high above Sorrento on a mountaintop overlooking the Bay of Naples and Mt. Vesuvius. We picked vegetables from their garden and cherries from their orchard and went to work in their home kitchen. Lino's mother whom he says is the real master chef joined us and helped prepare our meal. We had our meal on the balcony of their home overlooking an incredible view. Maria, Lino, the beautiful food and the amazing view--all made for an unforgettable experience. Highly recommend.

AMAZING experience!!! If you are in Sorrento, or even Positano, this is an absolute must! We saw a beautiful country side and absolutely stunning garden. Learning about the culture and horticulture of the Italian countryside was wonderful. We got to pick the food we prepared and taste homemade wine. The hospitality of the family and their friends was truly remarkable. My friend and I felt that we have been apart of their family forever! The food was delicious and this was definitely a highlight of our trip.

Well, I don't even know where to get started....it was such a great experience. Our chef who didn't speak too much English, was young but very knowledgeable. We made a great meal and learned so much. He was educational, funny and had a great personality. The Chef was patience with our lack of culinary skills, he was informative and created a safe environment for learning. The kitchen was so clean, the classroom was outside of the kitchen in a courtyard and everything was prepared and ready for the novice student. After the meal and desert was made, they treated us to Limoncello after our meal and class was done, as we sat on their hammocks and enjoyed the garden. The environment by the garden and villa was so beautiful and they never made us feel as though we had to leave once the class was completed. We walked to their beach after our meal and enjoyed an AMAZING view! We would do this again and again!! It was will worth the fee we paid and more!! Thank you Viator for offering this event.

We had a fantastic time - we cooked some tasty gnocchi fresh fruit Italian-style doughnuts using ingredients from the hotel's grounds. The location is superb and we were even able to stay around and explore the ground and the beach afterwards! The two of us were lucky to have the chef to ourselves for nearly 3 hours, which to my mind is excellent value.

This was a really fun day. Not really a class. We did some prep work, and the chef cooked in the hotel's kitchen. Amazing part: We picked fresh ingredients for our gnocchi dish (we ate figs from their trees!). My wife and I were the only students. They seemed unprepared. Chef did not speak English.

Fantastic tour. The chef simona is a lovely lady with a great sense of humour. She is patient and goes above and beyond to make it a great hands on experience. The food is delicious. The class is on a magnificent piece of land where the produce is grown and with a private beach which you can explore

Hacer las pizzas con Maria, su calidez y atención se destaca. El conocimiento entregado fue valioso . Aprender hacer ravioli con Laura fue también interesante para mi. Me sorprendió el tema de la harina. Harina tenero 00, no la conocía. Buena escuela.
