Depart your Seville hotel by air-conditioned vehicle in the morning, and set off eastward through Andalusia’s countryside toward Cordoba.
On route, listen to the live onboard commentary about this splendid city, Europe’s largest during the 10th century with around 500,000 inhabitants, and located on the River Guadalquivir. Founded by the Romans, Cordoba was a major Moorish center between the 8th and 13th centuries, leaving it with many of the Islamic buildings that epitomize its UNESCO-listed center.
On arrival in the city, set off to explore the historical center as your guide recounts its tangled, multicultural history. Admire the Roman Bridge and Calahorra Tower, the 12th-century tower-gate, and delve into the atmospheric streets of the former Jewish Quarter, the biggest in Europe.
Hear how Cordoba’s Jewish community helped drive its prosperity during the Middle Ages, and take a look at the medieval Synagogue. Admire other landmarks including the restored, 9th-century Albolaifa water wheel on the Guadalquivir, and then visit the city's showpiece: Cordoba Mosque (Mezquita).
This celebrated example of medieval Islamic architecture dates to the 10th century, and incorporates a cathedral, built during Christian rule in the 16th century. Choose to take an audio- or self-guided tour of the mosque interior, marveling at its red-and-white archways, designed to mimic a palm grove, and its courtyard, bell tower, horseshoe-shaped mihrab (prayer niche) and more.
Then, enjoy time to explore and relax in the city independently, perhaps having lunch (own expense), shopping for souvenirs, or visiting further sights.
Finally, return to Seville, ending your trip with a hotel drop-off.

Everything from Registration until dropoff was amazing. Highly recommend it. Ana, Luis and Alejandro explained everything

Thank you Maria for your engaging tour of Carmona and the incredible ancient city of Cordoba.. We had no idea how large the Mosque/Cathedral was until we entered and were moved by its beauty. This is a not to be missed destination/tour.
Amer_b, Mar 2026
The trip is very informative and my only suggestion is to provide details about all historical facts and limit it to one religious section
Maribeth_T, Mar 2026
WOW! What a day. Lucas was a very knowledge tour guide. The walking tour was so fun and educational and took us to neighborhoods I would have never known were there. The Mosque-Cathedral is a place that will leave you in Awe!

Great trip to Cordoba with a stop in Cardona. Ines was our guide throughout the trip with 2 different guides inside the Cathedral and through Cordoba. It was a very well organised trip which run very smoothly. I truly recommend it.

Lovely day trip to Cordoba with a stop in Cormona. We had a great day on this well organised trip in the company of Inez and Jesus. The guides were very well informed and entertaining. Even with a big group and operating in four languages the guides did a great job! We had a nice walking tour of Cremona and Cordoba.
A special thanks to the wonderful guide at the mosque/cathedral – Josė – who gave us a super tour. His knowledge of the history and evolution of the building and its place in Andalusian history was just exceptional. Definitely recommended!

A Must Do! Fantastic accommodations and the guides were friendly and knowledgeable. A real pleasure! So glad we took this tour
Yvonne_L, Jan 2026
Excellent tour we arrived at the office early 8.25 we were told to arrive at 8.40. We didn't depart with coach until 9.20. That aside Excellent day
Innes was really knowledgeable and helpful.
Lisa_A, Nov 2025
The walking portion was good. Ivan was knowledgeable and friendly.
But the cathedral/mosque portion, which was the main part of this tour, was very disappointing. The tour guide was hard to understand and only showed us minimal parts of the cathedral/mosque. We were not given any free time to explore the majority of it that she skipped over. So we left knowing we missed most of it and we're not given opportunity to see it. Extremely disappointed and felt very cheated as we left.

Carlos was a wonderful guide and so helpful and knowledgeable. Unfortunately we didn’t have him for the tour other than Mosque and Cathedral.
Chris_W, Oct 2025
It is a very long tiring and educational day. Unfortunately if one has mobility issues or difficulty walking cobbled streets and long distances, this is not for you.

Our guide, Pía, from the trip company, Naturanda, was excellent! The excursion to Cordoba is worthwhile. While the mosque is fascinating and breathtaking, our official guide had such a strong accent, we really struggled to understand him.
Sarita_M, Oct 2025
Make sure that the guide has a clear accent and a voice that carries well, because, depending on how many are in your group and how many other groups are in your immediate vicinity, you may not understand what is being said.

Marce was a pleasure to travel with to Carmona/Cordoba. She was extremely knowable about all the sites we visited plus well organized and personable, friendly and humorous in her delivery! We were a rather large group (more than 30), but she kept us together in crowded spaces at the height of tourist season, not an easy feat!
Dana_W, Oct 2025
The tour was doomed for my party (four people) from the very start. The tour guide Merci was late arriving to the initial meeting point by just under 30 minutes counting the time the tour operator ask guests to arrive. She did offer an excuse indicating that traffic delayed her but that says to me that traffic wasn’t factored into planning. Also, there was also an issue with the bus transport for the tour. Informed that bus driver had an emergency and they would need to figure out alternative transportation which they did with not much more of a delay. I requested an all English tour experience but found that they were prepared for a dual speaking tour until the Italian couple said they were fine with English. Also during the walking experience of the tour they had no radios for the guest or the tour guide throughout except at the Cordoba Mosque.

The visit to the Mosque/Cathedral was unforgettable. This building is amazing and all the history just makes it even more special. The city of Cordoba is interesting. Wondering its streets was definitely an interesting experiance. We enjoyed the day with this tour. Naturanda tour is a great tour operator. Our tour guide Juanra was very good. He provided interesting details and was a pleasure to be with.

Cordoba is beautiful city and it is beautiful to visit it, see mesquita, old city, palace etc. Lovely food and people. Our tour guide Antonio was excellent and his driver Pedro was safe one. Antonio is very knowledgable and it is tour not to miss as part of Andalusia holiday. We scored bonus little town on the way back ❤️
Response from Host, Jul 2025

Great your, great guide. Antonio (guide) and Manel (driver) kept us informed, on-time and made the whole trip very enjoyable.

We had a fantastic day trip from Seville to Córdoba, and our guide Carlos made the experience truly exceptional. From the moment we boarded the bus, he was warm, professional, and full of insight. His knowledge of the region’s history, culture, and architecture added so much depth to the journey, and he shared it all with a great sense of humor and enthusiasm.
Carlos kept everything running smoothly and on schedule, while still giving us plenty of time to explore. The Mezquita-Catedral was breathtaking, and Carlos helped us appreciate the rich layers of its past—from its Islamic origins to its transformation into a cathedral. We also loved wandering through the charming streets of the Jewish Quarter and enjoying some local cuisine.
Overall, this tour was a perfect blend of comfort, education, and exploration. Highly recommended—especially if you’re lucky enough to get Carlos as your guide!

It was well organized and went as planned except for a small glitch with audio system in bus for a few hours initially. That got quickly resolved though.
Our guide Jesus was awesome and spoke English well and that helped a lot as we speak little Spanish.
Response from Host, May 2025

Easy day trip from Sevilla, gave us more than enough time in Cordoba to explore the town. We really liked the local guide who gave us an exhaustive tour of the Mesquita-Catedral. Not to miss!

I have used Viator in more than ten countries and have always found them to be a reliable travel agency. However, in this case, they provided false information. The tour from Seville to Córdoba was advertised as being conducted in English, with an English-speaking guide. In reality, about a quarter of the group were Spanish speakers, and the guide had to repeat everything in both languages. This significantly impacted the experience for several reasons:Wasted Time – The explanations took twice as long, which meant less time for actual sightseeing and exploring.Lost Engagement – It was difficult to stay engaged when the guide constantly switched languages, leading to long gaps between the information we could understand. Reduced Depth – Instead of providing a richer, more detailed commentary, the guide had to simplify the explanations to accommodate both languages within the limited time.If I had known this in advance, I would have chosen a truly English-speaking tour. Viator should be transparent about multilingual tours so customers can make informed decisions.

Hello Gregory, thank you very much for your feedback. We're sorry to hear your experience didn´t met your expectations. We take note of your comments and we will review this case to ensure we keep delivering just the best experiences for our clients. Warm regards from Seville.

Our wonderful and knowledgeable guides, Maria and Antonio made the trip most interesting and informative. Antonio's wit and humour kept us tuned in on our return journey, to Seville. It was a truly worthwhile experience having them both. The experience of seeing the architecture at the Mesquita was like being in architectural heaven! Cordoba I found tobe truly picturesque and amazingly beautiful.
Abbas_R, Jan 2025
Our tour guide Catherine was very knowledgeable and friendly. She made sure everyone is well engaged throughout the tour.
Samson_F, Dec 2024
This is a very good day trip. The stop in Carmona did not seem to add much to the itinerary but it was cute. The tour guide Katherine did a great job leading us through the walking tour of Cordoba and though it was mostly a rainy day, the day was enjoyed by all.
Thank you!
Lynne_M, Nov 2024
Our guide Ivan was knowledgeable and enthusiastic and led us through Cordoba at the right pace. Our guide in the Mexquita helped us appreciate the unique architecture and history of the building. Everything was on schedule.
Alexandra_G, Nov 2024
Cordoba is a beautiful city and the Mosque-Cathedral is a must if you are visiting the South of Spain. I booked an English tour but we were mixed with others who booked tours in Spanish, Italian and French. Switching from one language to others during the tour was a bit challenging as some tour explanations seemed longer and more detailed than in other languages. The tour guides spoke English, Spanish, a little bit of Italian and no French. So, if you are booking a tour in a language other than English or Spanish, I would double check with the tour company to make sure your guide speaks your language.
