Great tour, guide and views in a comfortable van of 8 passengers. From 9am-1pm, saw many beautiful lakes, calderas, towns and flora.

Paulo was an AMAZING tour guide! The tour is definitely worth more then we paid. The sights were amazing and it is a little hiking but doable if you pace yourself. Definitely would recommend him and this tour!

My group of four friends loved our tour with Eduardo! The pick-up was very smooth and we were joined by another couple, but the van was still very spacious and we were all comfortable. Eduardo was full of interesting information about the sights we were seeing, but also about flora/fauna, São Miguel Island, the Azores, and Portuguese history. We learned a lot and we felt very safe. Eduardo was great about giving us information, but also letting us wander a little and take in things for ourselves. We loved the surprise of visiting one of the pineapple plantations in Ponta Delgada at the end of the tour because we were hungry, and it ended up being quite a hot afternoon, so the pineapple treats were amazing! We definitely recommend this tour for a group or even solo. It's a great way to see this part of the island with an expert who can drive the very narrow roads.

This tour will enable you to see beautiful vistas, the green and blue lakes, and explore the western side of Sao Miguel. Our day was very foggy so it was difficult to see some of the views. However, our guide wisely did the itinerary in reverse and it did clear up enough for us to enjoy some very incredible sights.
The one negative thing was the van was filled with 8 passengers and it was very tight. The guide had to orate in both English and Portuguese. That was fine, but it would be more comfortable with less people.

Phillipe(spelling wrong): Outstanding tour. Could tell he loved his country and the natural beauty of his country. Small group tour. Shore excursion. 8 of us. 2 separate families. Minivan. He used a microphone in the van which was helpful. Plenty of time with each destination.

It was cold and rainy at the beginning but the guide was a good sport and very nice. I was the only one who was rain-geared in my group but I still managed to hike a bit and sight-see nice things.
He also took the time to introduce everyone to each other and since I was solo I was feeling like I was part of a group.

Philippe was a fabulous tour guide. He was able to answer all of our questions with his vast knowledge of the island. The tour was reversed by him due to him wanting us to see the sete cidades. The sun was out and what a beautiful view!!!

We booked our tour as the ship just finished docking and our guide, Joaquim met us 30 minutes later along with six other guests that booked. The tour brought us to several stops along the caldera from the top down to the small town including an opportunity for a coffee and restroom break at a small cafe.
We also saw a bit of the small town and a neoclassic church.
Our guide was very personable and shared his love and the history of his home area.

Our guide Phillippe with Into the Wild Azores tour was fantastic! He took us to BEAUTIFUL sites in the volcanic region and told us everything we could ever want to know about the Azores. This is a great tour if you don't have time to do the hiking tour. You cover a lot of ground in a half day! Highly recommend.
