We had nice walk around Ribeira Grande with Miguel - and I'd happily take a tour with Miguel again. He's knowledgeable and friendly. He walks fast, which I liked, and he did ask us to tell him if we wanted to go slower...so just tell him if he's going to fast. :-) He's a very nice person. He gave us good recommendations for other places to explore and if I was returning to the area, I'd look him up for future tours (especially, to explore nature around Nordeste - I suspect he'd be great for that, as he lives there and seems to love the peaceful outdoors).
