This a must see tour when visiting the Azores. Vasco was a delight to spend the day with. He was very friendly and informative of the island history. The sites we visited were stunning.

We are pick up with a van that have 4 wheels drive meaning we can go off road and should be fine. Delfim is our drive/tour guide and he took us to the mountain to places that tour buses cannot go to. We saw so much more than any other would have. We love this tour and highly recommended.

This was a wonderful excursion. Vasco met us as soon as we got off the ship and escorted us to his Mercedes 7 passenger van. We discussed the places we wanted to go, and he put the plan in place to see not only our choices, but so many other beautiful places. Vasco completely personalized the day for the six of us. It was a leisurely day; we took as much time as we wanted at each site. We chose to have a quick lunch so Vasco brought us to a quiet, local restaurant. This was because we wanted to see as much as possible within our time frame.
Vasco was informative, but made us feel like family with lots of laughter. He is a very safe driver and we arrived back at the port well before our “all aboard “ time. In fact we had some time to explore the area around the port if we wanted to.
I highly recommend this tour, it’s details are spot on and Vasco was the best……. Ask for him!!

Mariano was an excellent guide. His vehicle was comfortable and he drove on the gravel back roads expertly. He really made the most of the time we had and instinctively knew that we did not want to hang with the crowded. Mariano is very proud of his country and taught us much about the Azores during our tour. Highly recommend!

We had an amazing time on this tour! Everything was well-organized from start to finish — Vasco, our guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and made every stop special. The mountain was covered in clouds so he advised other sites took us on a tour of the island which is beautiful and included lovely stops. We especially enjoyed Vasco and his knowledge and sense of humor. The vehicle was very comfortable. Highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting to experience the natural beauty and charm of the Sao Miguel island.

Goncalo was a wonderful tour guide. He picked us up in a four wheel drive jeep and the adventure began. Being a native of Sao Miguel, he was extremely knowledgeable and proud of his country. We went places I know the cruise tour buses could not go, and we saw the island close up. I highly recommend this tour.

Despite a rainy start to our tour, Vasco guided us to the north side of the island which was dry. Visit to the tea plantation was fascinating. We saw several waterfalls, whale watching stations, and very scenic views of the coastline. We wanted to buy a specific wine and Vasco found it for us in a local grocery store. The store was also very interesting. Excellent tour and guide!

You never know if you will be with the person you made the reservation with, or be passed off to a newbie. According to our guide, the tour operator had overbooked and passed us off to him - new in the business. I’m sure he meant well, but needs much guidance in tour-operating. While he seemed knowledgeable, Francisco talked constantly and way too much about himself and his personal opinions - of which most were negative. The three of us were constantly scared of his driving — tail-gating; too fast; stopping in the middle of roads; etc. He picked his nose constantly. We could hardly ask a question as he talked incessantly-not sure if he ever asked if we had one. Apparently this is his newest career. I hope he is willing to get much training and make serous adjustments.

Vasco is an amazing guide and such a wealth of knowledge about São Miguel and the Azores. I had such a great time on my first custom tour with him that I ended up booking a second just to see more of the island! He answered every question I had and shared so much insight I never would have gotten on a bigger group tour. If you want to learn about the Azores from a local who knows it inside and out, Vasco is definitely the person to go with!

Our guide Flavio was warm, welcoming and most importantly, so informative about his home island. Every part of this paradise is stunningly beautiful, and Flavio took all the time we needed at each stop, explaining the cultural and geological history of these volcanic islands. We got to see some of the most beautiful nature Saõ Miguel Island has to offer. Our guide Vasco was very knowledgeable, personable and friendly. He offered a lot of insite to Azores history and culture, and even gave us some driving tips. They came in handy when we rented a car for a day.

We throughly enjoyed our private day tour around Sao Miguel with Vasco. He was very knowledgeable in every aspect of our tour locations. The jeep was very comfortable and clean. The island was unbelievably beautiful. We stopped for lunch at a local restaurant where we had delicious octopus. Toured the lakes to the beaches. Highly recommend this wonderful day tour with Vasco!
