Itinerary
Make your own way from the Santorini port to Fira, and meet your private guide by the summit of the cable car. Your first stop is the island’s caldera, which was created when a volcano erupted in ancient times.
Strike a pose against the caldera’s edge and soak up the views as you walk around. Then, if the weather works in your favor, visit a nearby volcanic beach, known as Perissa. The sweeping stretch of black sand is the island’s longest beach, and it makes a pleasant place to enjoy a break. Or, if beaches aren’t your thing, arrange with your guide to do something else instead.
In the afternoon, travel to Profitis Ilias, the tallest mountain on the island. Visit the Monastery of Profitis Ilias, and sample some of the olive oil, honey and dessert wine — all created by the resident monks.
Continue to a volcanic wine estate for a tasting session, and sip up to four different varietals of the island’s wine. Learn about wine production in Santorini’s dry climate, and hear about the local assyrtiko grape that helps produce the distinctive light white wine of the area.
Before your return to Fira, make one last stop in Oia. The famous village is known for its pretty whitewashed houses, and for its sweeping views across the Aegean. Enjoy a stroll with your guide, and then make the most of some free time to explore. Your tour then finishes with a drop-off in Fira.
Worry-free Shore Excursion:We will ensure your timely return to Fira for this activity. In the rare event your ship has departed, we will arrange for transportation to the next port-of-call. If your ship is delayed and you are unable to attend this activity, your money will be refunded. See our terms and conditions for full details.

Theo was amazing! We felt completely safe and in great hands! The winery staff was extremely knowledgeable!

We enjoyed the company of Stefano and all of his knowledge of the island, wineries and all he could give us in the time we had for the tour. We learned so much and had so much fun with him and all he showed us and shared about the history and current island workings! A+++++ Again, Thank YOU Stefano!!

What a beautiful island. Our guide, Gabriel, is a terrific guide. He has an excellent command of the English language and very easy to understand. He has a high energy level, very enthusiastic and entertaining. He took us to all the usual places folks want to see, but because we were in a small van we were able to get closer and spend as much time as we wanted to at the various places. As a result we weren’t so rushed as with big bus tours, we didn’t have to wait for the missing persons, etc.
If you have three or more folks in your party, it will probably cost you less to see and spend as much time as you like in the various spots on the island. We did go to Oia, the beach, a church high in the mountains to get a view of the island, and lastly to a winery where we were presented with five wines and a plate with many delectables to better sample the wine.

Amazing island and so much to see! Our tour guide Evangelo was great and really helped us to see the island. He took the time to show us the key spots Oia, Red Beach, monastery, winery among others and went out of his way to make sure we could photograph the beautiful island. Well done!

What a wonderful and amazing day. Our guide Demetrius was amazing, very accommodating, kind and knowledgeable of the island and Greece. We had a wonderful day and a beautiful tour of the island. The last thing we did was a wine tasting. The young lady who was our guide was one of the best.

Santorini was a port of call and we opted for a private tour instead of a cruise line organised option. We were able to enjoy the highlights of Santorini at our own pace and no time did we feel rushed. Michael was our guide/driver and was excellent. With the benefit of being a private tour, he tailored it to ensure we spent more time doing things we were more interested in and using the time on the island more effectively. What topped it off was Michael being a sommelier by profession, which added to the wine tasting experience.
Santorini was truly a beautiful place to visit and this tour definitely allowed us to experience it highlights during the short time we had there.

Simon was great he was already there by the time we arrived and took his time to explain about the places we went. Thank you for everything

Beautiful tour with great opportunity to take picture and explore the culture. We had time to enjoy great wine and cheese in the town of Oía. Beautiful experience. Highly recommended.

Great tour...guide was great and spoke good English. Was easy to find at top of cable car. Would be nice if tour included some sort of skip the line entrance to cable car...but that may be difficult. Trip to Oia was great, guide showed us several picturesque spots. Wish we had more free time in Oia. Stopped several other places with great views, trip to black sand beach, great little spot for lunch and then the Wine tasting which was fun as well. Winery not crowded with other guests which was great.

This was an amazing private tour. Dennis, our tour guide, was fantastic and personable. We explored the entire island, including Oia, the highest point in Santorini, the Red Beach, the Black Beach, and then it culminated with tasting fantastic wine at Gavalas winery. Dennis is also a sommelier and was very informative about the wines we tasted. You get to avoid the crowds in Santorini especially if you're on a cruise ship and sit back and relax. A definite must!

Our tour was fantastic from start to finish.
Phanos knew all the best places and where to go and secret places to show us. What a fantastic day !!

A well worthwhile tour.
This is a great way to view the beautiful Island of Santorini - especially for those who enjoy a little drop of wine as well!

We highly recommend this tour. Our guide was waiting for us at the top of the funicular and took us immediately to Oia where we enjoyed over an hour of tourist free time in this spectacular spot. As we left the town we passed bus after bus of cruise ship tours. Our next stop was for a photo-op over the caldera. Stunning. Then onto the Boutari vineyard for a winery tour and tasting. The wines were paired with unusual cheeses and meats making for a great learning experience. From here we headed to the black sand beach for lunch and a way too brief dip in the water. We did not visit the monastery at all.
PROS - shore excursion guarantee -big positive for choosing this tour!
- ability to see sights without mobs of tourists
- ability to customize our tour and the time spent at each stop
CONS - didn't visit the monastery.was told it wasn't an option for tourists
- too short a time on beach. Our guide said there wasn't time for any more than a few minutes despite we'd asked and planned on paying for! time for a swim
-guide was well-informed and a good driver, but was a bit too opinionated for a tour guide.

There are no words for how happy we are with this tour. Our guide, Thanos, was amazing and in our opinion is what made our tour the personal experience that it was. He showed us Santorini from his personal perspective and we feel like we got a tour from a dear friend not a tour company. Great value, incredible experience. If you do book this tour - and ask for Thanos - you are missing out!

Christos I hope I spelled that right was great. We were running late, but he still made sure we saw all the prime spots in Santorini. Christos loves Greece and it shows in his tours. We love it and would definitely recommend.

Santorini and Oia were wonderful. The problem we had was with our tour guide--who was also the driver. He did not add any interesting facts and was on his cell phone a good part of the day. This was supposed to be a private tour with English speaking guide and basically we were driven around!
Lori V, Aug 2015
we enjoyed our tour very much but we were very disappointed that we didnt get to the winery, we wanted lunch before we drank wine, when we got there it was closed, but not because of the time but because it was a Sunday, our tour guide should have know that and offered something else. So we were a little disappointed
Teresa J, Aug 2015
This was a great tour and our driver was amazing with his knowledge of the area. Even though Santorini is a smaller island and you could drive around to the sites your self it was great to be able to customize our tour somewhat and see the sites we wanted to see and get all the history of the area while doing so, you don't get that personal touch on your own!! I would strongly recommend this tour to all visiting Santorini.

This was by far our best tour. Our private guide was wonderful, Makus. He was born and raised in Santorini and obliviously was very proud of his island paradise. He took us all over Santorini and Oia Village giving us the history of each place we visited. We stopped at a winery, where our guide was well known by the owners of the winery. We toured the winery and sampled traditional Greek foods. Wonderful!

Wow what a fantastic day we all had our tour guide Gabriel was just brilliant and gave us a most excellent tour of his island . His explanations of where we were , his English ,his passion were all evident as we travelled around this beautiful . Everything was just perfect thankyou very much for sharing this with us we thoroughly loved every moment and have told so many of our friends to request Gabriel if they go on this tour once again WOW . Cheers George Ruth Bruce and Sue
Veronica D, Jun 2015
Our guide and driver were wonderful. We saw the best parts of the island. Lunch was unbelievably good at a winery where the portions were very generous. None of us wanted a big dinner that night.
EvelynL, Jun 2015
We could see almost everything and avoid the crowds in the winery of the cruise tour because we went to another one very good and almost private tour in the winery.
Fldodger, May 2015
What a beautiful place and such a wonderful tour guide provided by Viator.
khalidukhan, May 2015
Was a good tour. The tour guide/driver was good and cooperative.
The tour was a little pricey. VIATOR should evaluate it .
kimgray6, Oct 2014

Phenomenal shore excursion with Gabriel. Knowledgeable, personal and professional
tomcalla, Oct 2014
Our guide was wonderful. We toured the whole island in a nice private car and stopped whereever we wanted. The side trip to the local farm market was lovely as was our side trip to the local brewery. My husband is not a wine drinker, and he appreciated the beer tasting. We were never rushed and never had to wait for our driver. It was truly the best way to see the island.
Lauren C, May 2014
Incredible opportunity to see each postcard point on the island in just 1 day! Our tour guide was fabulous - very knowledgable, tailored the tour to us and gave us an insight into the history/current life of this beautiful island! Cannot recommend more!!
