1 a little confusing getting to ticket stand. Use the link for directions they give for exact coordinates The booth is labeled Dakoutros Bros. J.V next to white cube benches
2. Tix Booth is in front of the boat where it embarks.
3. We went to the warmer area of the bay and had to swim close to shore to experience the warmer sea water. Some people jumped from the
boat while others used the ladder. Rhey had pool nje
4z the hike above the sleeping volcano was difficult but manageable in the alloyed. Views were lovely.
Overall I recommend, it’s a new experience and fun

This was one of our favorite tours of our trip. Although it was hot, climbing a volcano and swimming in hot springs were memorable.

Bring good sneakers, I used hiking and it was perfect. The hot springs were great too! They had great selection of beverages on board. Best 35 euros spent

I booked the Half Day Volcano and Hot Springs trip while in Santorini and left genuinely shocked at the lack of basic safety equipment. My girlfriend isn't a strong swimmer, so at the hot springs we asked to borrow a life jacket for the swim from the boat. The answer? There were no life jackets onboard. None. For an entire boat full of tourists.
Let that sink in. A commercial vessel taking paying passengers out to sea, with not a single life jacket available, not for swimming, not for an emergency, not for anyone.
We were forced to sit out one of the main highlights of the trip simply because the operator failed to provide equipment that any passenger should be able to take for granted.
This isn't a minor complaint about comfort or scheduling, it's a fundamental safety failure. Carrying life jackets for every person onboard isn't optional on a passenger boat, and being flatly told there were none is alarming. I dread to think what would happen if something actually went wrong out there.
I cannot recommend this tour until the operator can demonstrate that proper life jackets are carried for every passenger, every trip. Book at your own risk.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We take all comments regarding safety very seriously, and we would like to clarify our safety protocols to address your concerns.
First and foremost, we want to assure you that our vessels are fully equipped with life jackets. Our boats regularly undergo strict official inspections, pass all required safety checks, and hold all the necessary maritime safety certificates. Safety is, and always has been, our highest priority.
The information you were given onboard stating that there were no life jackets at all was completely incorrect, and we sincerely apologize for this miscommunication by our crew. We are already addressing this internally to ensure it does not happen again.
However, we need to clarify that the life jackets onboard are strictly reserved for emergency situations. They are regulation safety equipment, not recreational swimming aids. For example, if a vessel carries 80 passengers and 60 of them request emergency life jackets for recreational swimming, it would be logistically impossible to coordinate, manage, and maintain our emergency readiness.
For this reason, we kindly inform all future guests that anyone wishing to swim at the Hot Springs must be comfortable swimming independently in open waters.
We deeply regret the misunderstanding and the disappointment this caused you and your girlfriend during your trip.

Arsenios our guide was great. With a family of 6, from young to middle aged he kept a good pace engaged in interesting conversations for all of us and was knowledgeable of the ins and outs of history, landscape and picture taking. Definitely recommend.

All in all, we had a great tour. Our tour guide Soso was wonderful as we hiked up the volcano with him listening to the knowledge he had to share with us about how Volcano and Santorini was formed. He hiked up with us all the way to the top and the view from the top was simply beautiful, although I must admit that we found the hike a bit straineos given the fact we are in 50's (although completely fit). The stop at the hot springs was also sufficient for people who wanted to take a dip and swim up to the hot springs. The only reason I give this tour a 4 star is because the stop at the volcano was 1.5 hours. If you hike up without making a stop with the guide, you can get up there in 25 to 30 minutes, take photo and hike down in that time frame. When you passionately listen to guide, making stop and then going all the way up, you hardly have time left to stand there and take photos. We were really rushed to hike down to make sure the boat does not leave without us. The guide does not hike down with you, he is supposed to go back down right away since he is responsible for checking the people back into the boat. So we felt like we were running out of breath to hike back down (which was also straineus since you have to avoid slippery rocks and such). If you go up with the guide, takes you about 45 to 50 minutes to go to the top. The stop should have been 2 hours at the volcano instead of 1.5 hours. Anyway, we did best of what we had. Also, the bathrooms in the boat were dirty and I was hugely disappointed that neither one of the two bathrooms had no hand soap nor paper towel. After each 3 hour trip, the ground staff should make sure to refill the hand soap as well as paper towel before the boat takes off again. Even on one bathroom flush button was broken and it was hard to figure out where the flush button is but I managed to find it. This is another reason it leads me to give it a 4 star. But all in all, it was worth the tour. thank you, Viator.
Response from Host, May 2026
Thank you so much for taking the time to share such a detailed and thoughtful review . We are thrilled that you enjoyed the stunning views and our guide's passionate insights, though we completely understand that the pace of the hike can feel strenuous and rushed; this is exactly why the hike to the very top is entirely optional, allowing guests to experience the volcano at their own comfortable pace. We also sincerely apologize for the lack of soap and paper towels in the boat's bathrooms. This was a rare, isolated oversight that does not reflect our usual standards, and we have already addressed it with our ground staff to ensure thorough checks and refills between every trip. Thank you again for your valuable feedback, and we are so glad that, all in all, the tour was well worth it for you!

It’s a quick ride from Fira to Volcano. Was smooth but really no accommodations for rain which it did tarps poured water to middle where seats and tables were.
Snack bar only takes cash.
Passengers were discouraged from swimming in hot springs saying water was cold where swimmers went in and they would be wet and cold after leaving water. We did and found it not a bad experience at all.
Response from Host, May 2026
Thank you for sharing your feedback. Our boats are specifically designed for summer excursions, but we are looking into better ways to handle unexpected rain. Regarding the snack bar, due to our remote location, there are moments when the lack of a 5G signal makes card transactions difficult. Lastly, our crew advises against swimming in the rain solely out of care for our guests, wanting to ensure no one gets cold afterward. We are glad you had a great experience regardless, and we hope to welcome you back on a sunnier day!

Wish we had longer in the hot springs, was just a jump in, swim into the warm water, and swim back to the boat. Other then that it was a decent trip

Nice 3hr trip on a lovely old fashioned type of vessel. The guide on the trip was very knowledgeable about the volcano and guided us up to the top. There was also a stop for us to try the hot springs and the crew were very mindful of who should swim in the sea.

Be prepared for a good walk.
No flip flops.
Beautiful boat , friendly staff
Sit back and enjoy the ride, then jump right in at the hot springs !! The water is wonderful

A little boat ride was really what it was. Nothing spectacular and both stops were meh. Definitely wouldn’t recommend.

Thank you for your feedback.
This tour is one of the lower cost option to visit and spend time on the two volcanic islands of Santorini. Its a short 3 hour tour for someone who doesnt have much time in Santorini, but would like to see the Volcanic environment of these islands.

amazing, loved the tour guide very smart very good had a great time. wear hiking shoes probably. and sunscreen
Haylee_c, Jun 2025
Great day , very well organised on time and great staff. The hot springs was amazing and water wasn’t too cold to swim in ocean on lead up.
Michelle_M, Jun 2025
The shop was easy to find as soon as your boat tenders over to the old port from the cruises. Easy check in and we boarded right on time, very organized. We got to the hot springs and then they announce not to get in if you’re not a strong swimmer. That should be in the description. Several people did not go into the water because of this and it was a waste. The hot springs were not hot at all. The rocks near the hot springs are slippery and have algae on them so be careful. Then to the hike to see the active volcano. It should be noted that it is uphill and slippery at parts with the rocks underneath. There were about 6 people who did not go all the way to the top and sat and waited after trying to climb to the top. There are umbrella and seats at three points along the way. The walk takes at least 25 minutes and it is all uphill. At the top the guide does a nice job giving information. The company needs to be more transparent about the strenuous level of activity needed to participate in both activities to get your money’s worth. They do not give any water but sell some onboard the ships.

The experience on the water body and the long
walk on the volcanic mountain let me call it that
was interesting, seeing what an active volcanic
mountain looks like was fun.
Danyelle_S, Oct 2024
It was a beautiful day for a boat ride. The crew were informative and made sure everyone stayed safe. There’s not a whole lot of time on the boat overall; walking up the side of the volcano can be difficult if you don’t exercise regularly. We packed our lunch and ate on the boat, which we were glad to have done. Three hours was just enough time for us.
Please note, if you get voucher through Viator, you must go down to the Old Fira Port to get your ticket - after walking all around Fira trying to find ticket place, we found out we needed to take the cable car down to the port to redeem the voucher (this would’ve saved a lot of extra time of getting our tickets)

The guide was excellent explained everything we were doing he hiked with us which was great the Hot springs was fun as well
nshray, Aug 2024
Great price, no glitches, very professional and comfortable boat. We were on a Cruise ship and all the excursions are expensive crowded and you have to get up at 7am and meet them. This had 2 options early and 2. Did the 2pm it was perfect
deb_s, Aug 2024
Being able to jump off boat. (My husband could not climb down ladder or jump into water)
We had to transfer to another boat to get off to go to the volcano. There were no drinks on land just from the other boats
Michelle_H, Jun 2024
The locations they took us to were beautiful! Demetris, one of the crew, was the best! I thought I was late getting back to the boat and he assured me that I was fine! His words “ don’t worry, you are on vacation!”
Antoine_M, Sep 2025
Very short swimming time, otherwise activity very well nothing to say, the staff was very friendly

Barca bella e curata, personale gentile. Mi aspettavo di potere fare qualche bagno in più oltre a quello nelle acque calde.
