Our tour guide Andoni is very well versed and knows the San Sebastián-Donastia and Rioja areas very well as he grew up here. The wineries we visited were very good - Andoni picked them well. We bought many wines and look forward to their arrival at home. Andoni is a good story teller and kept us very engaged on the drive to Rioja, then let us sleep on the return after tasting many wines and having lunch in La Guardia. The perfect guide!! We highly recommend this tour, and Andoni as your guide.

In late October the two of us had the great good fortune to spend a day with Andoni Urkia, owner of Baskme Private Tours, exploring Rioja. Andoni was terrific; he's Basque himself, and he's also spent considerable time in other countries both in a professional capacity and as a visitor. The combination seems to have made him not just deeply knowledgeable about the Rioja region, but also informed and reflective about the ways it fits into Spain and Europe more generally. He's articulate, patient (we asked questions all day), deeply knowledgeable about Rioja and also it's wines (as well as other great wines), interested in the culture and history of the area, and just all around excellent company. The wineries he took us to were all outstanding and all different from each other, but each welcomed us warmly. We were not rushed, and the passion of these winemakers was unmistakeable. If we had visited on our own we would not have known where to go or who would talk with us; this tour was indispensable. Very highly recommended!

Diego was an amazing host. His selection of wineries to visit was right up our alley. He drove us to a village prior to stopping at a winery. The history shared was remarkable. The knowledge of the employees at wineries too made this a trip to cherish.

Andoni was very knowledgeable about Rioja wine and gave us a detailed history and characteristics of the wine we were going to drink at 4 vineyards. The vineyard taste rooms were beautiful and lunch was amazing. He has a large van and it was a relaxing ride. Would highly recommend Andoni for any tour in San Sabastian and Rioja.

Our tour guide Andoni Urkia was extremely knowledgeable about the area and overall history. He made us feel very welcome and we had great conversations. This was a private tour, which it made more enjoyable and customized. We went to four wineries: Roda, Muga, Ostatu, and Gomez Cruzado. We stopped in this place for lunch in Laguardia called Capricho de Baco which was amazing! We walked around and took some lovely pictures of this very charming town. I would like recommend this tour if you are a wine enthusiast and enjoy charming little towns such as Haro and Laguardia. It helps when you have a great guide who is professional and friendly. Thanks Andoni!
